Larry went on to win a "Coach of the Year" award, then an " Executive of the Year" award. Don't forget that he was on the "Dream Team " in the Olympics.
Magic & Larry, resurrected the game of basketball...My dad loved basketball, but stopped watching, until the competition between Johnson & Bird was highlighted...What my Dad used to say, about Larry's game, is that it reminded him of someone, who wasn't only playing basketball, but also, volleyball, dodgeball, football, soccer, & strategic chess, all at the same time, & what made him so great 😊He certainly was one of the most unique & gifted players, I ever watched! Enjoyed your reaction & commentary 😊Larry by far is my favorite, so I am hoping you will do more of Larry, although, if you want to react to other greats, I would recommend Wilt Chamberlain, before Bird, Magic Johnson, with Bird, and of course, Michael Jordon, which overlapped Bird & Magic and continued beyond their retirements.......enjoy!!!
Larry Bird was the founding member of the 90/50/40 club, Larry was only 1 of 3 players that got the MVP back to back-to-back, Larry played left hand only through 3/4 against the blazers because he thought that he didn't need his right hand to beat them and was going to save it for the Lakers, Larry was the only player to sweep Michael Jordan in the playoffs. Larry swept him 0-6! Michael couldn't even get a game. Larry won all three of his championships out of the Eastern Conference which was by far the better of the two conferences. Larry dominated at a time when there was teams loaded with Hall of Famers. There is no other GOAT🔥🐐🐐
You talked over the part where they explained when Larry came back out he had a fractured cheek bone and later found out was a concussion - still dropped another 17 points and they won the game.
The difference between 1980s NBA basketball and today...it's like comparing a .44 magnum gun to a 9mm gun. It was very rough, aggressive, intense, defense oriented, personal contact a normal thing back then- grabbing and holding jerseys, tripping them, hand checks, shoulder checks, etc. Teams used to hire "enforcers" to simply get in the game and create hard fouls against star players like Bird and Jordan, to actually try and hurt them. Plus it was extremely competitive ; one had to win to get TV commercial contracts, shoe contracts- there was no internet or Facebook or Tik Tok to get publicity. The 80s was the Golden Era of the NBA and Bird was The King. Even when Michael Jordan entered the league in 84, he had to deal with a Larry Bird at his peak. I watched the NBA from the 1970s to maybe 5 years ago, and Bird is the best player I have ever witnessed.
Can’t can’t agree with you more I can only watch them on TH-cam an get to see how great the NBA use to be very lucky of you to be apart of that time an witness it all in the making. 🔥
Thats a true friend right there ! I can only imagine the fear magic was going through so to have everyone turn their back on you couldn’t have been easy… lucky he had a friend like Larry.
Yep, Bird outside of the basketball court was humble, didn't like the publicity and fame that went with the job. He never hob nobbed with celebrities like Magic, Jordan, and others did. He always kept his working class roots even when he was a superstar; he mowed his own lawn, drove his John Deere tractor, and unfortunately worked on building his mothers driveway in 1985; shoveling gravel, he hurt his back, which was the start of his slow physical decline due to a ruptured disc. Imagine if Bird hired out the work to a contractor- his career might have gone on longer while in his peak.

Bird had way more assists and way more moves than Jordan
Larry Bird #1.
It's that jab step step back he used to trip dudes up.
casual full court alley oop three pointer :D
Sooooo casual! Like ahh he got this ... the trust in his teammates was fire!
If you haven't seen the college Goat look at Pete Maravich. 44.2 ppg no 3 point line and only played 3 years!!!
Definitely need to check that out ! All 2s 44.2 per game is nuts
MJ said bird should be the goat
An thats coming from a goat how can you fight him.
LeBron wouldn't start in the 80s or 90s
watch the boston vs hawks game when he scored 61 (might be off a point or 2 ) defensive top 5 = PG jason kid, SG MJ, K. SF Leonard, PF rodman, C David Robinson Top 5 offensive PG Nash, SG MJ, SF bird, PF Kemp (pre-getting all coked out and getting fat) Center Shaq Overall 5 Kidd, MJ, Bird Duncan, Center David Robinson or shaq (i can never, ever, come up with 1pick ) top 5 to watch PG A.I, MJ, Penny, Jason Williams, mid 90's Kings team! (lol i know not a player, but im already nice prepped for a long night of BBQ and UFC fight, and that whole team was extremely fun to watch when they were in sync. ) Have a good night. I need to refill my EnJ and cran. BTW u need to check "white chocolate" Jason williams.
I cannot watch to tap into J. Will he was one of my most favorite pgs
I’m enjoying your Bird reactions but why does your volume cut out at times? (Has happened on the 2 Bird videos I’ve watched.)
It was a mic issue but I got a new one so all is good now
@@NoCodeLive 👍🏽
Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell and Larry Bird, the only players ever to win back to back to back league MVPs.
Jordan never beat him either.
Check out Larry Bird making the case as the G.O.A.T.
How much would that Magic jersey go for at auction?
Millions
@@NoCodeLive It's almost impossible to put a number on. I don't think any number would shock me unless it's under 7 digits.
I hear many of you youngsters say players are a little soft today. We had gladiators 🥰
thats facts tho
Did you play? You kinda sound like you didn't... Appreciate the Larry love
Nahh I did an I had a little knowledge about Larry because of my uncles an grandpa I was more into Kobe ,Vince Carter , Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett
@@NoCodeLive right on... Larry was almost 25/10/7, if he wasn't exactly... Almost 50/40/90... Bro was special
MJ……..0-6 in the playoffs and swept TWICE by Larry Bird…..just sayin
that was a crazy series
Larry played till he physically could not anymore because of his bad back
His love for the game is unmatched 🐐✊🏽
If you don’t know who Larry Bird is and you call yourself a basketball fan you better educate yourself lol
Let em know ! 🤣🤣 🏀❤️
Fix audio
I been working on it
Work on those mute skills, homey.
Noted!
Bird IS Great. But Jordan is the GOAT.
They’re both 🐐s to me !
Jordan is Great , but
Larry Bird is the real
GOAT !
