I have 4 kids and never had a humidifier or a diaper genie. We have always put diapers in regular trash and have never had a smell. Hats never fit my babies, they were always to small. We would get sets that would come with hats, and that's the one thing that never fit. We also ended up just using regular towels. I do make baby food pouches but I don't have what you do. I just bought the pouches and spoon the food in. There are fewer pieces to take up space. We also use regular scented detergent and never had issues.
Also I think the diapers trash bin is also disgusting.. better to throw out straight away, also I agree about hats
I barely used my boppy pillow because my son was a preemie so it just didn't work for his size.
I thought about getting that doc-a-tot for mine but just used his bassinet when I sat him down.
I never owned a boppy lounger however, everyone I knew that used it loved it too so that is a bummer they are recalled!
The diaper genie was pointless for me just because I would take stinky diapers straight out to the garage.
As far as the humidifier (a cold mist one), I have had a regular Vicks one for years, since 2016 I believe. I honestly just use distilled water (buy the gallon jugs in the store- it's with all of the rest of the water) and then just clean them out every month or 2.
I thought the exact same thing about the Dreft- AND they changed the fragrance too! It's waaay too strong! We just used a free and clear detergent (and still do).

Super duper expensive but dysons humidifier is superior!!! I’ve had it for about 3 years or so and it still works perfectly. My husband and I got the best sleep when we had it in our room and then I got to use it with my 2 year old when she was born and I’m about to use it with my new baby.

Humidifiers have been such a pain for us, we finally settled with the Safety 1st one and it actually is great but it has a bright light that I always have to block off, I am convinced the perfect humidifier does not exist

I agree with you about the Diaper Genie. They smell HORRIBLE! I bought the scented little baggies in the baby section at Dollar Tree and I would put the dirty diaper in there, tie it up and throw it in our regular trash. One or two diapers in a scented bag in our regular trash can DEFINITELY doesn’t smell as bad as an entire container of dirty diapers. Lol. I honestly never understood why that thing was created. I also agree with you about the baby towels. They are adorable, but they don’t absorb a single thing and definitely don’t keep them warm. I would just buy the hooded kids towels because you still got the cuteness, only they’re made with actual towel material. Lol. I did use the Boppy though. It saved my arms and back when I was feeding my babies. If I didn’t use it, my arms would get so sore and I would rest my arms on my lap, if that makes sense. Like i would hold the baby and kind of hunch over so that my arms were resting on my lap which would KILL my back. I also had twins, who ate back to back, so my arms were already jello by the time I’d start feeding the second one. Lol. So, I definitely think the Boppy was helpful. But, you were pretty spot on with everything else. Very informative video for new Mommy’s.
That’s crazy I used it for both my kids n using it again for my third diaper genie great!! U probably wasn’t changing it when u needed to.

I got a Crane humidifier over five years ago for my first kid and is still up and going.
Spot on gurl! I’m up to having my 4th baby and have learnt not to buy ANY of what you mentioned. In my opinion it’s all pretty gimmicky. Eeeew and the diaper genie concept of having that in my babies room has always grossed me out…
