I definitely just use a nail file or pick the ones that hang off.
Things I regret buying or registering for:
      1. I regret buying so many burp cloths cause my boy doesn’t spit up all that often.
      2. I regret buying so many onesies ((they were thrifted, so not too terribly regretful)).
      3. I regret not getting a single to double stroller. ((Got my stroller on clearance, so can’t be too upset))
      4. I regret buying any swaddles, as my boy hasn’t swaddled his entire life except for his NICU stay.
      5. I regret registering for the bottle warmer.
      6. I regret registering for the second car seat base. We should have registered for an all in one instead.
      7. I regret buying another breast pump thinking it was the model I was using that was causing me not to produce much. It wasn’t too expensive but still.
      8. I somewhat regret registering for the frida baby tub, because it doesn’t support infants really well. However, we are keeping it for when he is older.
My biggest regret though is that I did not register for an all in one car seat. As for the baby carrier, you should try the Diono Carus baby carrier Amazon has it for less than $100. It is awesome!

    • @Alyssa.Hansen
      @Alyssa.Hansen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

i’ll have to check out the baby carrier! & yes, same here. we’re hoarding burp cloths when in reality we needed the bandana bibs instead (copper pearl brand is amazing). reece drools so the bibs double as a burp cloth/drool catcher/chew toy lol

The Baby Brezza bottle warmer has worked perfectly for our two boys! It is about $10-$20 more than the average bottle warmer but no mold, even the tall Dr. Brown’s bottles fit (those work the best for our littles), and baby food pouches and breast milk storage bags can be warmed in there as well. Plus there’s a different breast milk setting to prevent destroying the proteins in your milk by using a warm water bath instead of the steam used for formula.

Totally true with the Babylist thing. Otherwise I really loved it because you could pull in anything you wanted from whatever website and I really liked that “add button” you could put on the top of your browser. But they definitely need to figure out how to incorporate your home address into purchases so people don’t have to type it in

    • @Alyssa.Hansen

Dude the wraps are the most supportive for baby wearing! I used the ones with the back support and I used it when my kids got bigger because the hip support was good when they were heavier but when they’re so little the wrap just distributed all the weight super evenly and that was the best way for me to save my back!

    • @Alyssa.Hansen
      @Alyssa.Hansen  ปีที่แล้ว

hey kasandra! really?? i had a wrap on my registry originally but took it off because i was afraid it wouldn’t be supportive enough. which brand do you use? maybe i’ll try one out in the future for baby #2 one day since i imagine i’ll probably baby wear more with two kids

Very helpful! Thank you! Babylist is helpful when you’re building your registry. Since you’re only dealing with one site you can add everything to it, and then go back and divide the list between Amazon and Target. :) sounds like extra work, but it’s nice to see everything in one list.

I love the little remedies and that kit is like my must buy lol we use everything in it i put several on the registry. Hated the my breast friend too, i think its meant for shorter women it hurt my back i had to slouch to reach my baby on it. I do think most people get excessive baby clothes too wether they buy them themselves or get as gifts. I was given way too many but with this next one i plan on rejecting clothing gifts the clutter drives me nuts and i dont wanna pick through a dresser of 200 items to find the 10 things i use lol.

Just wanted to say that my sister-in-law registered on Babylist, and the items I bought shipped to her house. I live in DC, and she lives in Chicago, so it was very convenient. Maybe it's a setting you didn't see to turn on? But they 100% do direct shipping.

    • @Alyssa.Hansen

hi miranda! if you purchased from the babylist store it’s basically preprogrammed and easy. if you purchase from an external website (amazon) it requires you to copy & paste or manually enter the address which in my experience was a step that people commonly overlook

    unrelated but-

I went to guest view and saw where you can choose in settings for people to see your address before heading to the website to purchase something and they can copy and paste it but it is an extra step. I reached out to tell them they need to change this ! I got very close to changing registries just now until I saw that you choose to have people see your address and it does disclaimer that it doesn’t transfer to the website so copy and paste …

I don't even have my newborn, I'm in my 2nd trimester but I regret going with babylist... for sure... I am contemplating deleting it and restarting somewhere else.Because we created a registry on Amazon and Target and linked those registries to babylist but then later on when I added new items (I was not allowed to re-add my registry since it had already been registered) and none of the new items showed up on the registry..and the only way to get that entire list off (target and amazon) is if I contact customer service. At that point.. why did I even register with babylist? It's so annoying.

I did also just recently use a friends Babylist and send things directly to her home, so I’m not sure why this wasn’t an option for you unless it was way before I had made my registry, but it is now and I loved using Babylist!

Babylist does allow you to have it shipped directly to you if you disclose your address. I chose to keep our address private but if they wanted to mail it Babylist would prompt them to reach out to me for an address. Otherwise it would have provided an address for shipping but depends if you keep your registry public or not for safety I didn’t disclose my address since literally anyone could look at it but it still worked out really nicely and we got tons of items shipped directly to us using Babylist as our registry. This may be a newer feature but thought I’d mention it my shower was in Jan. 2023 for reference.

Babylist has the option to send to our address. It pops up when they click on the store they want and it states if you want to send to your registrants address . They have to select yes & then it transfers them to the stores website . Wonder if maybe they didn’t do it correctly .

hi lisi! most likely a user error, i think it’s because you have to copy and paste it and people subconsciously choose the preselected one the website picks (typically their home address) so that’s why we had issues. avoidable for sure, just didn’t work for us 💕

    Hi mama! New here!
Do you have a wording/invitation for the “mail baby shower” that you can share?
I want to do this and am stuck at the wording to send the link. I might be missing it from another video, so I will also take a look at that. Ty!!!❤

hi mayra! so happy to have you here & congrats!! my sister sent our invitations out to everyone by mail & titled the invitations “shower by mail” & then it read: since we can’t be together to celebrate, let’s shower the parents-to-be in a different way. Sending your love and well-wishes from afar lets them know just how loved they truly are. then it said “please mail gift by …insert date.. and then dacoda and my names & shipping address & then below it said our registry link. Hopefully this helps/makes sense lol 🤎

I used babylist and loved it. I had the option for people to send directly to me. Sorry you had a bad experience with them.

hey marie! so happy you loved it, yay!! i had the option for people to ship to me, but my main issue was when people didn’t buy directly from the babylist store. nothing super crazy just slight criticism. but hey, it all worked out in the end. thanks for watching 🤎

Babylist does allow you to put your address down and make it available for people to send to you… I didn’t have a problem

hey rebecca, nice name, it’s my sister’s! my issue was about people copying and pasting the address if they bought not from the babylist store. but i’m glad it worked out for you, thanks for watching. happy to have you here 🤎

I had a friend who used babylost and it was so annoying and inconvenient. So I understand and opted not to use it myself.

hi shauneece! yes i agree! i used it for reece’s registry and i think it was a hassle for some people. i think with baby #2 i’ll just use amazon.

I use pee pads to go over changing table it’s cheap, get a lot of them and I can just roll it up and toss away instead of having to dirty anything lol but expecting baby number 5# and you really refreshed my mind with a lot of things so thank you !!

hi nanii! smart! i heard to not even bother getting the “baby” pee pads and just go with the puppy pee pads because they’re cheaper and basically the same lol is that what you use? congrats on baby #5, boy or girl? 🤍

Honestly I was shocked that you are used to throwing things away while you know for example a pee pad is not recycleable and you have 5 kids!
Imagine if every family had that many kids and was into consuming alot
There would be no planet left to live on

My sister has a one year old girl and I am 24 weeks with a baby girl. She’s given me garbage bags full of clothes and I hate to tell her that I don’t want them but we have very minimal storage in our house and I have a specific vibe of what kind of clothes I want my daughter in lol. Not to mention I haven’t even had a shower yet and it’s the first grand baby on my husbands side so everyone is going to buy her clothes. I’d rather have 10 good quality pieces than 100 pieces of things she’ll never wear!

    • @Alyssa.Hansen

hey kaycee! girl i know the struggle 😅 we have BAGS of hand me down clothes and everyone knows i’m very specific with my neutral clothes. i’ll say, don’t let it stress you out, they mean well. dress your daughter how YOU want and don’t let anyone make you feel obligated to do anything you don’t want to 🤎
