  • In this video, we address a temporary modification we made to the sprocket on our mobility scooter using stacked washers. Recognizing the need for a more robust solution, we turn to our mini lathe to machine spacers out of 6061 aluminum. These spacers are designed to properly offset our drive sprocket, utilizing all four mounting spots.
While this solution may not be the optimal choice for offsetting the sprocket, given our limited machinery, it represents a significant improvement over our initial setup. We're aware that there might be better options, such as producing a solid, one-piece spacer with a vertical mill, and we'll explore those possibilities if the need arises.
Join us as we walk through the process of creating these aluminum spacers, showcasing how we adapt and refine our setups in the workshop. If you have any suggestions or insights, feel free to share them in the comments. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more updates on our mobility scooter project and future machining endeavors.
