Joined the discord earlier this month when I got back into the 3D Printing hobby. Not sure how I lived without it before. Thank you, Sam, and everyone else who makes this community possible!!!
Holy Crud........ Never thought you would call me out brother, but I'm humbled. And also impressed as heck that you are bringing this Omnissiah creation into existence. Keep working thru the obstacles..... A wise old Master Chief once said: calm waters never made for a skilled sailor. Continue on course Brother Sam.
@@skankhunt_-42 If he were to do that the STL would get taken down within days, if it hasn't already. Games Workshop protects their IP like it's their precious one ring.
If you ever have to break a super glue bond in future, it’s easier to break the bond with a short sharp application of force rather then gradually increasing the force. Putting the item needing to be broke apart into the freezer for a few hours and the super glue becomes even more brittle making it easier to break the bond.
Im glad that its such a supportive community - and while I feel the dedication has a sad story behind it - you've put that memory into something tangible that the family may revisit - and that's a really nice thing to do. Im very hyped for the chaos titan legion. Hope Liam's family are able to find some peace 💖💜💙
You are single handedly the reason I had my Titans 3d printed. I just had a Ta'unar done, it turned out gorgeous! I can't stress enough how much better some of the 3d prints are compared to the FW stuff.
Looks great man, amazing turn in the project. I personally do Print -> hot water -> clip supports -> washing -> RINSING with fresh spirit(it really gets these tiny white flakes disappear. Great job, keep up the good stuff.
if its any reassurance dude, i feel like half the draw of this chsnnel is you being "in over your head", you're not the most experienced hobbyist but that makes your experiences more relatsble and compelling ^^ These are big projects but you give me, and i imagine many other people too, aspirations to tackle the challenges you face in the name of hobbying fun
Yes YES!!!!! It is completed. Resin for the resin god !!!! I’m glad you were able to complete it and those makercults look sick. I don’t understand what’s going on with little Liam ?
I dunno if you agree here but I make sure supports never touch when I'm printing Sam mate. That may be why a lot of stuff get's pulled off from suction force, I dunno what happened to you but it's maybe a thing to consider. printing bigger, heavier stuff is a pain so best to separate it best you can xD
@@battlebrothersam I thought that too but as long as they aren't touching I think most print alright. With bigger things though you are right, you need heavies. I'm, so paranoid now and over support. The trick is always orientate iot so you can hide most big or medium supports. A bit of m,illput and methylated spirit can fix the holes once sanded anyway xD
That trick works on mainly specific types of super glue, mainly insta-cure/cyanoacrylate or other curing type glues. They are the most common types but for anyone wondering if it's not working, it's probably a different type! (The actual reason why is as the glue cures it forms a crystalline matrix, and freezing it causes water to get into the gaps of said matrix, which break apart as it solidifies, making the contact very brittle!)
Use putty, or the reusable painting/poster tack, or anti earquake stuff. Little blobs of sticky reusable putty for holding things on walls or keeping stuff on shelves if they shake, get the good stuff and you can use it in place of glue on bigger models like this to make sure they go in that way first, it's not a perfect fit, being a bit thicker than glue, but helps a ton in previewing ideas, especially when kitbashing. I use "Aleene's Instant Tacky" craft putty, and "QUAKE HOLD!" The first one is better on the residue side, it's less for working on parts before painting, while the second has very slight residue if you don't clean it up or wash aftewards, but is a bit stronger of a hold for bigger or heavier parts.
Sunlu ABS-Like has been an absolute godsend! Found it far better than Anycubic/Elegoo equivalents… both printability & when you bounce it! The beige colour was £33.95/2kg on Amazon prime day, think grey is back up at about £50/2kg sadly!
Sunlu ABS-like was amazing when it was under £20/kg. I think it was £17 a bottle at one point. Then Jayo ABS-like kind of filled that niche. I can't find anything equivalent that's cheap now.
For small parts, you might want to try small mesh laundry bags. Use a binder clip or something to hang the bag on the side of your wash. Works well for me.
Sunlu Standard has a lower viscosity than the ABS like, so you can actually reduce your cure time by .1 or .2 depending on your printer. Going as long as ABS like might overcure it a bit and make it more brittle. I add some siraya tech tenacious to my resin to make it more flexible and durable.
That’s interesting i’ve found the opposite personally! I’ve ended up having to go up a whole sec or more, I might have to do calibration cones to really dial it in.
@battlebrothersam That's interesting. I've also noticed that Sunlu/Jayo in the standard resins, the viscosity changes based on color. Darker colors like black tend to be thicker, and lighter colors like beige or mint green are much thinner.
Ive come to find the best results is a 2:1 mix, 2part sunlu abs(I prefer dark grey) to 1 part sunlu nylon like in black. This mix works out to about $33/kg so still not bad
Absolutely stunning model agian bro i got a question what printer did u use for most of the bigger pices i finally looking into another printer and want something a lil bigger than my mars 2pro

Great Video! I don't have a big printer but, I might be able to get a war hound printed. I am however curious as to where I might find this model? I really like both your versions of the war hound and reaver, would you be so kind as to point me to a creator or place to look. Thank you
Really amazing work on this project. I do have to mention that your legs are backwards though. The eagle embossed side is rear facing, not front facing. I'd highly recommend using GW's 360 view when assembling their titans. I know it helped me!
I'm glad to see the supports worked out! I'm almost done with my warlord and this project has taught me to love heavy supports. The next one is gonna be much easier to print. I tried this first one with the pelvis join down being 100% solid but I think I could do it fully at 20-25%. So gonna try that next. How much of the reaver did you do solid?

hey sam great stuff as always bro but quick question do you have a annual membership my wife and i have a fixed income with a balloon payment in august/ September, so i was wondering if there might be an option for that thanks again and great work
Hey Sam, I am currently the owner of a Standard Elegoo Neptune 3 (going on 3 years owning and using) and are going to be purchasing a resin printer. Would the Mars 4 Max 6k be a good purchase for the beginnings of my resin printing adventure? Always enjoy the content, keep them coming brother!
I don't think so, you probably want a mars 12k or anything on the mars line with a large plate. Just have to level it a lot but can also just get a wham bam plate. If you are printing miniatures you really need at least an 8k, and it's super annoying trying to print a tank or land raider on a smaller printer.
Ahhh the joy of resin printing, no matter what the result is, sucess or failure, you still gotta clean up the resin that gets everywhere.... seriously that thing feels like nanobots, just goes everywhere
I read 'adorable' over affordable and thought 'wtf?' lol. someone should design a larger models so the leg joints all snap fit together, adjust it how you want it, and then and have like a hole or something that glue can be shot into to hold the model's legs in that pose. Glad you didn't give up!!!!!! Printing up a Warhound titan right now and finally got the legs all printed up.
I like your tea strainer idea, but if you overlap the rafts of small parts, you can put them in the wash together without them getting lost.
Ah now that's smart! Work smarter not harder
I'm always afraid they will pop off the supports and bang around in the soup
100% doing that all the time
I also do that

Ah if only my freezer was big enough for a titans legs lol
Try turning a can of dust off upside down and spaying the joint
It's also not water proof so a good soak often does the trick , as does acetone

Any recommendations on how you located this version of the reaver titan?
Why have i never thought of a tea steeper to hold tiny bits!?!?

I printed my reaver hollow, helps a lot with supports. A few small holes are a small price to pay for an easy to print and overall lighter model.

Ayyy, just finished putting together the legs of the exact same one! Printing the upper body as we speak.
