The only superglue I trust is ZapperGap. It can take time to glue Resin but it'll hold! It's extreme power is second to none and I have used so many other super glue. I'd recommend to give it a try :)
@@malcolmden33576
For titans 15+ does not refer to age, it’s for years of experience. I’d also accept “Number of builders”.
😂😂😂
Or how many figures you make
How many hours to build the thing
Or how many pieces you have left over at the end
Or the total numbers boxes of shame you have.
For the price, the amount of extra stuff you have to do is inexcusable. Incredible work.
I agree completely.
yeah Games Workshop is such a garbage company. Getting this model done in custom resin would be cheaper and quality would be incomparable..
Yea GW are some extortionists
Literally the reason I went and spent my money elsewhere instead of considering further commitment to this hobby...
@@CitrusTsunami It's a 3d printer Christmas for me.
This is a beautiful educational video to what not to buy..
the amount of extra work caused by just lack of care by the company for the end product and only care about the money is just insane. nothing fits, it weighs a ton and my god it took you a guy who really knows his shit 8 hours to only start the building of this and then hours more with machinery and tools to make it stable !!!
great job from you to actually make this thing work.
Imagine buying this for your kid, thinking its gonna be the the gift of a lifetime and then he needs the better part of an engineering degree plus an entire workshop to build it.
dude this doesjt work like this !
To hide the screw under his foot may I suggest you use a crumbling Statue? Like a tiny one that is just breaking off as the Titan almost steps on it
this is the awnser!
Agreed.
Great idea for that! I was thinking of a large pillar like it's stomped through a cathedral. But I like the statue idea better
that would be perfect!
oooo what about a Chaos Tank!
A channel where the titan is built in a single video? Inconceivable!
Literally
Just you watch, I bet he'll even do all of the painting himself too lol
If this was done my some other squid like youtuber this would be a videoseries of 20 videos spread out across 6 months
You keep using that word. I do not think you know what it means?
Midwinter minis will take about 5 years to finish his and milk the hell out of it 😂
I can't believe how much work you had to put in for the cost - at £1400 it should be building itself!!
finaly i can use my engineering degree outside of work
I spent 2300 bucks on rebuilding my PC, and all I had to do was connect some wires, install some software, and import my old settings. 1400 dollars for something that took you HOURS just to get into a state where you could even begin test fitting parts is criminal. This stuff is why 3d printing has taken over, much higher quality, lower prices, and just an all-around better product.
Mad props to you for putting in the effort, I only dealt with small scale Forgeworld resins when I was still into 40k, and those were bad enough, I can't imagine how bad it was on something that scale.
Well technically building is part of the hobby. So having to do that isn't really a minus per se.
@@PikkabuuI get that but did you not see what he had to do to make it? Would never spend 1400 on a kit lmao
@@Unlucky1776
I know. I wouldn't buy this kit either due to how much of a chore the building is.
@@Pikkabuu yea lol basically working a job just to build it lol
If you do the doves, call the whole reaver "Peace bringer". Really digging the pose and base you are going for
Better yet, go with a play on words and call it "Piece-maker". 😁
'Peace' through superior fire power! Good call
Peace walker!
"We shall show them our peaceful ways by force!"
@@Linzoid6exactly!
Ahh yes the warhammer experience of spending more time creating the model then playing with it
Wargaming as a whole.....
that's part of the fun, and for some (if not most) people it's the best part of it.
"playing" with it, it's a fucking statuette. There are way better looking kits from other franchises that cost literally $1000 less.
*than
@@ceilyurie856That's a highly subjective opinion, though. IMHO, there are very few models I like better than a Reaver, visually.
I cannot imagine paying all that only to then still put this much work and effort in to make the model actually usable. I admire your craft and dedication. Looking forward to seeing it painted and done!
i would have sent every bit of that back to games workshop and said for 1000 bucks send me a good one . i resin print minis all the time and they all come out perfect. even big stuff . the are just to lazy to fix their printer and know warhammer gamers will put up with alot of shit .
@@James-rt8rt This exactly. Resin prints should be perfect. There is absolutely no excuse for errors for my part at least but if you're going to be selling them, anything less than perfect is as bad as it can get.
@@James-rt8rt whole-heartedly. After cutting them all out and then they don't fit? "Games Workshop, these parts don't fit and is thus faulty. You're taking these back as they are and refunding me." Complete bullshit.
@@MHTSAPAS The forgeworld kits arent Resin Prints, they are Resin Casts, this does still not excuse their poor quality tho. Just wanted to point out a misconception people have about the Forge World Kits.
For the cost and as a 3D printer for others, IMHO; 1) models should not come with supports, 2) models should be cleaned, 3) pieces should fit with none to minimal manipulation, 4) power tools should never be a requirement for assembly, 5) models should not need reinforcement and be posed appropriately to not topple over on their own.
Watching this really makes me understand why midwinter mini’s basically screwed on every part of his warlord Titan and then further reinforced it. Imagine how amazing these models could be if remade with modern engineering and techniques
To hide the screw, maybe a cloud of dust, a destroyed tank or a crumbling statue? Awesome piece of a Titan you did there, so tight(en)!
i was thinking a smaller opposing 40K
Since you were talking about ideas, you could add a small shrine on top of the missile launcher (like to bless the missiles or something, with a servitor/statue with a dove head inside).
Something not too big, very gothic (like in the Ravenwing Dark Talon or the land speeder vengeance kit).
The algorithm showed me your video by chance. I have absolutely zero idea of any of the things you’re talking about. But I just wanted to comment to tell you that your personality brightened my day. Thank you 😊
Possibly the best titan modelling video I've seen... Thanks for respecting the time of your audience and not stringing this out to umpteen episodes.
My sides almost started hurting from laughter when I saw your sawzall, seeing a tool I've used in demolition work used for a model project is a crazy juxtaposition
I never thought Id see the day when power tools were needed to build a 40k model. This is it. Ive seen everything. Looks killer!
This was epic. You really knock it out of the park with your videos. It’s never just “I did this, then this, then this” you’re always telling us a story 🙌🏼
It would be really cool to have little bits of freehand alluding to encounters with each of your other armies! Like the crew painted an intricate iron cross to commemorate that one time they joined the Black Templars on crusade, kill counters of ork skulls along one gun for that time the titan stood it's ground against the Mad Max Orks, some kind of symbol or freehand across the leg to remember all of the Tyranids that were crushed beneath it's lumbering feet and so on....I bet you could come up with some awesome stuff!
This should be top comment, absolutely brilliant idea
To hide the rod under the foot, you could use a crushed Tyranid or other large creature and use Uhu glue to make a bunch of stringy blood and guts affect like it's a bug stuck to the bottom of the foot.
Clever concept, I love it!
Of all the titans that I've seen on the tube this is by far the most well built titan I have seen yet. Amazing job jay I can't wait to see the paint job on this bad boy matching the rest of the crusade.
Nice work. I love that satisfying moment when the legs and base pose comes together, and the beast can stand… at least the bottom half. For me, that signals the final lap of construction.
I would consider myself a pretty invested hobbyist. This however, has scared me away from anything at all this size! The amount of work, well done man!
Amen, I hate forgeworld stuff, if i spend the insane money that they cost, i want a cleaned up model ready to assemble.
8:00 what a beautiful piece of art
I'm in progress on mine too :D...all prepped, washed, and cleaned up...stuck on the pose now. That posing is amazing!
Congrats on getting your dream model! Looking forward to seeing you paint it up! You gave me some good ideas I needed for my Phantom Titan. Speaking of which I need the courage to start that model....
Idea for the raised foot, if you’re planning on doing a resin pour to make it look like water underneath then you could make it look like water is pouring off the foot as you lift it, and use that to cover up the screw
Meow
SUGGESTION: this would be a personal one for me but with you mentioning doves it sprung to mine. My great uncle fought on HMS Rodney during wwII and the ships motto was “ Non Generant Aquilae Columbas” which translates to “ eagles do not breed doves” . Be cool to have an eagle gripping a dove in its talon. That’s my tattoo idea but would be very cool on your titan too. Great work dude! I love how everyone else’s titan projects are years and you just smash out the building faze in 1 video!!
This suggestion is badass
Bro this man is always so happy and positive. A great vibe love to see it
I was skeptical about the lifted leg, but boy does it work:) A lot of fun this one!
When’s someone making a titan out of just resin gates
Somehow found this exactly 1 minute after being posted. Awesome.
Also, I'd love to see you tackle the Leviathan Dreadnought one of these days. Awesome model.
I love how we consistently see videos like this, where someone takes a model that costs more than a grand and has to fix it just to build it, yet we still have Resin simps all over this hobby.
Yeah, I feel like anyone who actually buys titans and isn't a content creator is just seriously masochistic. FW are quite literally spitting in the face of anyone willing to spend that much cash on their only real reason to exist.
I don't have time to hobby anywhere near as much as I would like - I do have time to watch you video's. I really appreciate them and the care and quality that goes into the modelling but also the video themselves. Thank you to the whole team.
This build was awesome, great job and looking forward to your next video with it. Great storytelling too, that sets your channel apart.
You need so much more attention. Your videos are the best warhammer videos of all out there. you go straight to the topic from the beginning and theres no useless information about something else. everything is just on point. I can imagine that you´re putting hard work into everything. I hope it gets paid of as deserved. Keep it up
The guardsmen on the base is brilliant! Really puts it into perspective the sheer enormity of the Titan in scale with the minis.
at 15:29 I was convinced the Vengaboys were about to start playing. I was disappointed :D
Good work on the reaver guys, it looks lovely so far.
I'm always so amazed with your customisation work!
I admire your courage doing all this on your own! Personally I wouldn't have the discipline, the patience and or the talent to do it. Kudos to you!
"I'm gonna do it all in one day"
Damn, Jay, I actually believed you for a second.
Excellent building process. Well done!
I think a think a few bushes on the base with one covering the screw would be perfect. More solid objects like statues, ruins or wrecked vehicles tend to take away from the actual miniature and remove the “in step” feel of the raised foot.
Your build philosophy and creativity is amazing!
After having built a Forgeworld Mega Dread, I have a sizeable amount of respect for everyone building, let alone PAINTING a Forgeworld model. These are really something special, and I think your "Rite of initiation" statement from the Deredeo conversion is kind of true. At least it felt like it.
Average TH-camr: 50 videos over a year to build.
Jay the Omnesiah: One video in a week on top of his other videos.
When you sanded it in the studio.... Utter madness, loved it. :D
Great job solidifying that thing. She ain't going nowhere.
am only a 11 and a half mins into this video but I HAVE to say this might be the best put together titan on the planet. this thing is going to look unreal.
Edit: done with the video, this looks so cool the base is AMAZING I can not wait for when you paint it.
just a small suggestion for the free hand part. maybe have a cheesy quote written on it, something like "burn baby burn" or "hot to the touch" something corny/cool like that that would feel really on brand for eons of battle etc. am unsure there just ones on the top of my head but am sure someone can think of the perfect one.
I’m 12 and Jesus I can’t imagine putting together something like this, I wouldn’t have the discipline or anything just wondering what army do you have and how much?
Your process of building these massive titans is impressive!
I loved the Warhound you did. I can't wait to see this new titan painted!
So happy a friend showed me your page. Love your content.
Sick, truly my favorite miniature hobby channel
This really make me appreciate Bandai and Kotobukia models.
The whole time I was watching this I was just absolutely shocked at all the effort you gotta put in for a kit thats over a grand and those instructions looked absolutely god awful. Gunpla builders rly do have it good
@@XxCalypsoxX616 They respect their hobbyists.
awesome ! love the video - had some of the same issues with my gargantuan squiggoth - but after seeing this prep time i will not complain anymore :D
It might be a bit hard for you but I think a moral picture of cadia breaking in half I think it would be perfect with the flames
This really puts into perspective how resin is not good for large miniatures as it’s way too heavy and extremely expensive
mate, ive been renovating my room recently and discovered few 'cool' materials. they do stick to wood pretty well, but you can get some primer/undercoat for it. get yourself either gypsum (you can get one that dries in 15 minutes) or gypsum finish. its cheap in large quantities, and works like a charm for smoothing, or even casting
you're a really cool guy. It's really fun to watch you build and design your models with enthusiasm. you could be a really good teacher. keep it up and thank you for your videos
Give him a purity seal you can actually read with a list of patrons as the names called in creation / list of dead for the patron and add a skull next to each name.
7lbs and 16", Jay, that sounds like a lot, but I think you can handle it. Definitely needed less toil!
"What did I expect for $1,400 USD" Best sentiment and quip of the video. Thanks for sharing!
This video took me from 500% sure I don't want to do a titan to around 1000% sure that I don't want to do a titan.
I enjoyed this video way more than Guys series on Midwinter Minis. It was satisfying to see the whole build process in one video as well as holding up other minis next to the parts helped me understand the scale of the titan, something I didn't get from the other series
I think it would be really funny if you had a dove carrying an olive branch that is actively on fire. Consumed by the hotrod flames. After all, what is more 40k then burning the concept of peace with the emperors holy flames?
Ooh that's good !!! And it could have a quote under like "your peace is death" or something like that
Love the fact that’s a Sentinal on the base . The Reaver is walking against the emperor’s foe’s one of the biggest walkers avenging the one of the smallest walkers .
I've never even played Warhammer but I couldn't stop watching this. Awesome building skills and model.
the reaver looks so cool but its way to expensive for me
GW whales be like- it's worth paying extra for a model developed with prehistoric tech
I was literally looking into one yesterday.gonna print ofc
an injured orc laying on the ground looking up at the hovering foot would've been an awesome way to hide the rod. Don't even know if it's possible but couldn't unsee it
That mask in not sufficient when dealing with resin . I'm warning you , you will have health issue .
For the the algorithm!
You've come a long way, man! great video
You are very talented at putting large things like this together dude. Hopefully will get to see you make other large titans in the future then.
Really impressive build, and the base is really nice!
I just 3d printed one myself cant wait to start!
One of my favorites. Looking good!
Amazing and well made(modded) project! Looking forward to the follow up/part 2!
That's awesome! Im building my warbringer at the moment and had to break and re pose it atleast 3 times already lol. Need more super strong epoxy to put it back together, ive mostly finished painting the legs now. Once i have them rebuilt ill start on the main body
For the foot if it's in mud you could add some goop and little chunks of rubble covering the screw like he's lifting up earth with every step.
I dread building one of these but MAN does it look satisfying to get it all done.
Wow. So much work.
Well done.
I admire his passion and knowledge. Keep it up brother!
I cannot tell you how excited I am to see this behemoth be painted. While I may suck at it I love watching other people do it.
The detail on the drawing is just astounding
Amazing video! Great work!
Suggestion: Roughen up spots with high grit sandpaper or a knife anywhere 2 parts meet that are going to be held together with resin or glue. Gives the material a little more surface area to grab and hold onto.
I built and painted my first Knight model last week. It took several hours a day over a week, and I couldn't imagine building this damn thing.
I am soooooo excited for the paint job!!!
8:33 In part two I spend 4 hours getting the sawdust off my books and collectables on the shelf behind me. Can’t believe you did that inside
This is such an excellent job. Well done !
13:00 There was a real opportunity for a "the planet broke before the guard did" joke here.
I was so glad to see lestoil. About 25 year ago we couldnt find it anymore. My mom found 1 last place and ought all they had. That lasted for more than a decade - but we couldnt find more. We thought it was gone.
8:31 Did anyone else get flashbacks to the Gungan Army video and the family sign lol
If you do another you may want to think about putting smaller bases for em, I did two just a little later then feet, makes it easier to fit on a table with other mini's
Pai ting the threaded rod under his foot in black would really help to hide it. I do my flying bases with thin threaded rods painted black and they pop way less than acrylic flying stands
Dude! thats dope, I just love it.
Somehow I feel like the right leg, shall be little more flexed to give the moving feeling.
But making such a miniature, is way ahead of what i can do. I wish I could make a miniature looks so good.
Man, I appreciate your dedication to making this thing STURDY.
