i've probably played clangen for hundreds of hours over the past couple months. i love how you can have disabled cats as warriors, you can have lgbtqia+ cats (even poly relationships! and trans cats!), cats can have kittens together and just co-parent as friends, etc. my favorite area is the beach, the main prey item is octopuses, you can eat sharks, cats can be drowned by a giant squid, etc. very unique compared to the other areas, which are more similar to the clans/tribe in the actual books. my favorite type of patrol is when you put two cats on a training patrol and they go on a date, give each other gifts, run around and play together, and ask "what would you do if you liked someone? asking for a friend." very cute.
I hate it when in WCUE people do private roleplays or don’t follow the laws of the Warriors world, it just ruins the experience for me. I also barely ever end up roleplaying because I can’t talk to people because they’re all in a private Roleplay and yell at you when you approach them, so normally I end up doing a “solo Roleplay”, where I run around the world and think thoughts about my character
I am literally so happy that a Warriors fan that doesn't center their channel around Roblox has talked about WCUE. It seems like no other non-Roblox fans of Warriors even mentions Ultimate Edition, and as someone who loves that game, it saddens me. I also play Clangen, and absolutely love it! I have my four main Clans, and one of them, RoseClan, has literally grown to 60+ cats. Anyways, great video!
WCUE is so popular I'm surprised I haven't heard it being brought up a whole lot outside of Reddit. It's such a fun game, I'm excited for when they update it with more prey to catch.
I played Falcondev's Warriors fangame, Untold Tales, before I played Cattails, and it's so cool to see the progression in Falcon's work! Can't wait for Wildwood (Falcon also made the allegiances generator Untold Legacy!) I also played through all of the iterations of Ultimate Edition, it used to be so much simpler. Mostly on the SkyClan server since it was smaller. I remember picking random names and making new characters every time i'd log in lol ClanGen is very fun! The alternate LifeGen version seems alright but you need to uninstal ClanGen and I prefer ClanGen so :p

And yeah, while the newer models and map of Ultimate Edition are nice and all, the old Forest Territories and Skyclan were incredible in part because of the simplicity.
The precursor to Cattails was this one warrior cats game that I forget the name of, but it was a lot of fun! You could join any of the clans, it was set in the Forest territory, and you could even become a rogue and make your own unofficial clan by making nests out of brambles :0
I love the depth and expression you bring to your videos. This analysis in particular really did a good job at demonstrating the possibilities and nuances of a WC video game. Honestly, If you ask me, there’s far more potential that lies in a warriors video game than people think. The general diversity that lies in the 4 clans, be it physical or moral, is too rich to not explore in an interactive medium. While I understand that these 3 games handle the different aspects of warriors in different ways, I honestly think ClanGen would be the right blueprint for an official game release. It would be a single player RPG. Clans are treated like ‘factions’; affecting the traits your warrior would inherit. For instance, if you chose to be a RiverClan cat, you would be more efficient at swimming and fishing. You can choose to be a rogue, tribe cat, kittypet, clan cat, street cat, etc. each lifestyle would provide some signature or exclusive benefits, at the detriment of other stats. If you had a following of cats, or had the ability to command other cats as a high ranking warrior, you can organize skirmishes or raids on other clans or factions. There would also be a reputation system, akin to that of RDR2’s, where some factions or cats will approve or disapprove of your actions or beliefs. On that note, I’m eternally upset that WB (the company) patented the nemesis system from ‘Shadow of War’, if you know what that is. A cast of randomly generated cats, each with their own name, background, personalities, strengths and weaknesses, relationships and appearances. It would grant a seemingly infinite amount of replay-ability and keep the game fresh. That would be a dream come true for me haha. Coupled with the Role playing mechanics and writing of the original fallout games (2 and NV) that would be an absolute masterpiece. Anyways, sorry for the long, rambling tangent haha. I just think that, with professional effort mixed with passion, a warriors game would be great. Loved the video!
I remember playing the very first version of warrior cat on roblox but of course I kept getting targeted due to my oc not being realistic enough. At this time I had no clue what warriors was, eventually I quite the game and found the books later in middle school and immediately recognized the clan names and decided to read, i did go back to play the roblox game again and there was some new updates but it was still the old version, and it was a mess, everyone was toxic, they loved kicking you for the simplest thing, if you even seemed like a noob, kicked. It was a headache so I ended up leaving the game again until I saw the ultimate edition when it first came out and I was suspicious because of my past experience but I decided third time a charm and now the server are much more peaceful and less toxic. Which is ironic because the only reason I can think of that would cause this is well, no rules. Kinda funny how having no rule caused the entire server to become peaceful and roleplay as they should.
6:03 this is so true. i played as leader only once and people immediatly started fighting foxes in camp, having arguments, coming up to me to get a mentor/ask a question that doesnt need to be asked, etc etc. its safe to say after that i stick to playing as a medicine cat/med app and if i cant be those then apprentice. i also try to stick to roleplays on the group wall, rather than in public servers
Personally, I tried it out and I think roblox ui (the chat box and chat bubble mostly) aren't really viable for any good rp. You can only do like 1 sentence. Plus the chat bubbles tend to block a huge part of the screen, especially in camps. Plus it's not really a warriors based game, despite the name. It basically cat sim. A bunch of the players don't have much clue about warriors lore or lifestyle, which is fine but it does kinda break the illusion when people are looking for warriors rp. When I play, once in a blue moon, I stick to being a rogue/loner because of these issues. Less likely to have a huge crowd of chat bubbles blocking me, and I don't have to interact as a warrior, but as a cat
i adore clangen soooo so so so much. ive sunk so many hours into it. i think my favorite clan was Weevilclan, where the leader had an affair, and later on those children helped save the clan, so i wrote out a TON of lore for them, and how there was a prophecy about haystar's future kin saving the clan! its such a great game! i actually was an alpha/beta tester for wildwood story and its great! i played the first cattails for HOURSSSS and im so excited for the full version of wildwood story to release! i also played a lot of ultimate edition, but it most often was some fruitless small talk rps. the most fun i had was when i was the leader of riverclan named Sprucestar, and when i died, the clan actually mourned and held a vigil for me! i had never seen that happen in the game before, and it was super cool to experience. after then, i always tried to hold a vigil for clan cats who died, to make their impact on the clan a bit more special in the fast paced world of ultimate edition lol
My favorite rp I've had before is from maybe the second or third time I ever played WCUE. No one was doing anything in camp so I decided to send my warrior on "patrol" by just running around the border of the territory. Accidentally happened upon two guys where one was rping a temp character so the other could kill them for drama. They were like "Oh shit" and I was like "Oh I could rp as a junior warrior who nobody believes so you still get away with the murder but there's extra drama" and I did and it was v fun. Although there was one poor rogue who came in while all the clanmates were arguing about the murder and was trying so hard to speak up for my character lol. Also omg they added full hunting mechanics?!!! The last time I played they'd /just/ added tufts of rabbit fur that spawn on the map and I was so excited to be able to pick them up and pretend that they were prey I'd caught lol.
I know you only briefly mentioned it to bring up Outulissa but I really hope to hear more about the Ga'Hoole series in general, it and its sister series Wolves of the Beyond have a lot of meat that Warriors as a series really lacks
warrior cats minecraft servers is a niche i don't see people talk about often. the ones i've played on feature insane custom plug-ins that allow for complicated hunting and healing mechanics, level-based progression and skill unlocks, daily apprentice training, a huge map with borders you can claim and fight over, customizable cat morphs and so much more. you can focus on grinding and maximizing your character's skills and abilities or roleplay in chat/discord and take part in the extensive story the writers come up with. it's genuinely a great experience. the only thing to watch out for is the community, which consists of a lot of really young people and can get exhausting quickly. it is minecraft after all
Out of all of these, the roblox one honestly has to be my least favorite. While the customization is great, a lot of the community is absolutely horrid, they have a nickname used to make fun of new players for being, new players and kids. Asides from that the developers basically silence anybody who dosen't like them in the discord server. When one of the devs apologized for constantly making homophobic jokes (and worse iirc) and people were still mad (surprise) they deleted the feedback channel that people were expressing their anger in, and to my knowledge they still aren't demoted. The head developer themselves has also banned people during some of the minecraft servers, with a specific incident I remember being somebody goofing off and hacking, with the leader of their clan being banned from game, discord, and minecraft server, even though they didn't know what was going on, and the actual hacker wasn't banned. They also threatened to ban the entire clan again if it happened again, even though it was literally one guy doing it on their own with nobody else's input, it gave so many people panic attacks and the minecraft chat was literally cheering about it. PLUS (this used to be the case don't know if it happens any more) despite moderators being paid, many of them did not do their jobs, despite being free or not. It used to take an hour for a moderator to come help because there was only about one or two trying to help people in a game with likely millions of daily players. It has so, so many issues and this is literally just scratching the surface. They're supposed to have punishments for the mods and devs, but the team leader has never gotten back to people so I've heard
Yeah... I wouldn't describe Cattails as a Warriors game... It IS heavily inspired by it, but it's completely its own thing. However, the developer DID originally make a Warriors fangame named Warrior Cats: Untold Tales so I'd rather we not try and connect Cattails to Warriors? Sorry, it's just something I tend to be slightly fussy about
Not a warrior cats game, but when I played through brilliant diamond, I gave all my pokemon warrior names. Like Duskflight my Kadabra or Splashleap, my Gyrados. Cattails is to me is what Stardew Valley is for my friend, a relaxing way to spend an evening. I'm so excited for the sequel. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the guardians of ga'hoole series! I loved them but remember kind of falling off near the end of the series. I still read the last few books, but it didn't grab me like the earlier ones
I can't hunt in wcue, only fish, so I always make my warrior half riverclan when I am not in riverclan (which isn't often, windclan and riverclan are the most popular it seems, and I just join the most populated server), and see where the drama goes. Riverclan hating cats, a war with riverclan, maybe a cat who's in love with a riverclan cat, exiled riverclan cats causing trouble (my last rp had this, the guy killed a dude, and my character was trying to not look super sus). It's good fun and I get to only hunt fish all the time because I can't get the dang land hunting to work. I also play the other two games religiously.
I have two clans in clangen. My clan that I use expanded mode with (FernClan) pretty much is the next ThunderClan because of how BIG and how INBRED it is. Like half of the cats lineage can be traced back to my first ever medicine cat 😭
Clangen has to be one of my favorite warrior cats fangames! I haven`t played Cattails yet, but I`m curious about it. WC:UE has very racist developers 💔I don`t recommend buying things from them, they get 70% of the robux and can convert it into money. The community has its ups and downs haha; gatekeeping is one issue I`ve noticed, as well as "exp", which is a pretty widespread problem

I’ve been wanting to make a linear story based warriors rpg for long but I just don’t have the experience yet to do so lol
