You have a beautiul journey ahead of you. I don't know how much anime you have seen but you may be surprised by this series. The opening hits like the beginning up "UP". The beats we see after Frieren leaves the group is the passage of time for her. The series is subtle in it's storytelling and is very character driven. People not trusting the show is something I see a bit when they first dive in.
I have seen quite a bit but I can't say I have seen anything QUITE like this, which really intrigues me. It seems like a breath of fresh air and something unique and of a different pace than I am used to. Can't wait! I totally can feel the 'character driven' vibe. I'll be watching the second episode tonight. 🙏🏻
I hope you enjoy this anime, it is great! The first episode of this anime was originally planned to be released as a 90 minute movie but was instead changed into 4 episodes released on the same day. To get the full sense of the anime you should watch the first 4 episodes before deciding if you want to continue. That being said I believe you will like it enough to continue the series.

4:37 l love how for every new Frieren watcher it takes 2-3 episodes to realize that "nothing will happen", no the town won't get suddenly attacked. This isn't that type of anime :D

Good choice of anime! Looking forward to riding this journey again. I'll give some constructive criticism solely from rewatching this anime through other reactors. Not sure if you or someone else edits, but you probably noticed the audio get progressively out of sync as the video went along. There is some background fuzz noise through all of it, but it wasn't overpowering so that's not too big a deal. As I know little of audio/video software and editing copyrighted content, I recommend watching the reaction of an episode you already watched from another reactor. Maybe you do already to get a feel for how others' look, and there are a lot of channels to pull from, but the first channel I'd check out is AutoSave. They are a couple who seem to try to watch it uninterrupted, consuming the episode wholly and taking notes to discuss after. Since you're watching alone, there's not much in the way of bouncing an idea off someone else or feeling obligated to stop and rewind if you feel you missed something. But this anime is extremely well-crafted to make you pay attention and think. It has a "show without telling" exposition, which in turn rewards a 2nd or 3rd viewing. There are many call-backs and the animators and direction assume you aren't stupid and want you to just get immersed for the ride. Many questions you may have now will usually be answered in time, sometimes very soon. It's great to see you are paying a lot of attention because something can pop up in no time flat that may or may not be trivial at the moment. Trying to keep track of the time passages will get easier as the show goes on, but along with trying to put yourself in the POV of the various people, the time passage, the world they live in and their relationships with each other will really help flesh it out and help yourself stay immersed. Good luck with your channel, don't give up on this anime and I hope see more.

Just curious, was the audio/video delay just an editing flub or an intentional thing to avoid copyright issues? Cuz if it's the latter that's actually kinda genius
I’m not a genius it sort of worked out that way 🤷🏻♀️ I had originally recorded the audio via screen record AND I had it recording when I was reacting on a diff mic. So instead of using the screen record audio, I went with the delayed mic one because I noticed it was slightly off and thought that would be great for the copyright… HOWEVER, I think I found a better way where it won’t be delayed in my next vids! 😀😁
The names in Frieren are all German words and related to the character or location that has the name. Knowing them isn't necessary, but there is a lot of added value with symbolism to be had. Frieren - (to feel) cold/freezing Himmel - Sky/Heaven Eisen - Iron Heiter - Bright/cheerful Flamme - Flame/passion Fern - Distant
