You really should start from the very beginning. it never disappoints. it holds up and may exceed even today's mech stories, and that includes macross' own current iterations.

What's important is at least 2 scenes which were deemed "graphic" are of one of the RDF Pilots getting killed by a Zentraedi Battle Pod and the other of the Zentraedi Soldier getting shot to death by Roy. Both of those scenes do NOT appear in the US version of the Show. Rumour had it that a lot of graphic content was removed - as it is, the Japanese version of each episode is far better - naturally.

Man how good would an Ace Combat style game of Macross be! Mission Maps the encompass the outer atmosphere. able to transform to the mecha form for on ground engagements. It stumps me why no ones done this yet.
robotech was raw a cartoon in the 80s on TV cartoon that showed people dying, way better than GI Joe, in combat someone has to be destroyed which never happen in GI joe.
I grew up with robotech robotech and macross I love them both gundam came later on in my life so I'm not trying to be bias but I prefer macross and robotech over gundam but hey gundam is really good too
Macross because it makes my imagenation run wild with the sexy Valkuries. I mean the mechs in Gundam are cool and all but you can't beat a transforming F-14 that you can fly in. The later version like in Macross Frontier just make the jets even more good looking.

にしても、異質な存在の描き方が上手いな。普通はこんな巨人族が相手とは思わないだろう。これで中身が地球人と変わらないってんだから、設定も凄い。ファーストコンタクト物としては傑作の部類と思う。
