- In todays video we bench test the brand new QS180 mid drive motor with the also new FarDriver ND96850B Encoder edition controller .
For todays bench test we used a 72V pack but the controller supports upto 28S lion batteries. It has incredible torque and we cannot wait to see it running in a project.

What app is that you’re using for programming? Does that come with that controller or the motor? I’m a newbie and about to get into my first build and want to use that qs180. They sell kelly controllers but do you recommend this one you’re using in this video?
What is the software/application are you using in your phone to get the motor parameters in running condition?
Hi, I found out here on TH-cam that the QS138 engine has aluminum terminals, and the wires are made of pure honey, and they have not been cleaned of varnish, this leads to ignition of the engines.
Can you check how you are doing with the q s 138 engine, the same?
As for the long-range drive controller, there are aluminum studs inside that are used to connect phase wires and a battery, this is also bad

I have QS180 (encoder) + fardriver ND721200B.
If I set the Motor Direction: 1, rotation clockwise.
If I set the Motor Direction: 0, then first the rotation is coclockwise, and then clockwise.
Tell me, what could be the problem?

I wonder if they they will make encoders to be able to use a range of controllers? That acceleration is very smooth. Right now it seems you've got a pair of the motor and the controller. We both know that motor can handle more than what that controller puts out.
Thanks glad you enjoyed it . They are the EIG C020B cells 3.7v 20ah 100A in 20s1P for the bench test battery .
This motor is going to need a bigger controller maybe a ND961800

I have a 12 kx450 I want to convert to electric. Need 30 miles of trail and mountain singletrack. Would this motor and 72v 50ah? Do the job?

@@KiloVoltBikes dont do that with ASI controllers on public. They refuse warranty then :D
@@IncredibleCisco you might not know this but unlike asi controllers fardriver has built in precharge circuit so it’s not required to run a precharge resistor with them .
Asi on the other hand it’s required
@@KiloVoltBikes if they had kind of precharge it wouldnt spark?!
@@IncredibleCiscowe asked Fardriver why a precharge resistor is not included in the circuit diagram included on spec sheet they advised it’s not required and is integrated into the design . I can only imagine that means a precharge resistor is built in or that the switching stages are not effected by inrush current

yes its difficult to fit the QS180 inside a full sized ATV / Quad bike.
Will be next to impossible to fit inside a KTM 85

That motor is BONKERS! I think the motor worked the first time you throttled- it just spun the earth 😆
I just dropped a vid on undocumented Fardriver / Kunray motor issue. With your experience, it would be interesting to see if you've seen my throttle issue. Subd for more either way!
I have a question what are the pid settings nobody has videos explaining it all they say is leave it alone. That doesn't answer the question there is benefits in the pid settings
I’ve got a 84530 controller and that thing has some crazy throttle lag
I had a hard time getting rid of lag too, do you use the app?

@@tsergio111 okay maybe this is confusing but in the function paras section of the app, try these settings.
Disable the brake, park, follow, PC123
Set CAN to none
Set gear to default D
Sport is the only throttle curve that will feel choppy imo
I haven't got it all ironed out yet but this and sport mode got me to a good starting point on my set up.

Release throttle = 0
Weak response = 0 (I have it set to this but I haven't expirimented with it yet)
Release throttle = 0
Throttle acc step 224
Double check you have sport mode set sometimes it goes back to line or whatever idk.
Set ratios in speed 500rpm-5000rpm to 100%, this is how you really tune throttle response once everything else is working right if I understand correctly

Dresses like a scientist in a movie yet forgot that positive cable goes tight and you should try with the negative if you want to test
What are you going on about positive goes tight ? If your talking about the orange cable that starts up the controller it doesn’t want bolting down in a test environment ,
Also can you please explain how your supposed to test with negative when the wire you need to activate the controller connects to +
