Are all your records mono? Have you thought about getting a dedicated mono system with one high-quality speaker driven by a single channel of amplification? I must say, it looks a very modest system - Miyajima cart excepted - for playing such valuable LPs.

Hello, actually I’m considering a one speaker setup from the same engineer that made the lovely speakers I have now. We’ll see what happens. But I like the concept of two speakers, and if I decide to play stereo LP’s it’s all good. But yes, all my records are mono. The setup sounds great to me. Never judge a book by it’s cover, right? 🤓👍🏻

@@fwrarejazzvinylcollector No no, I was just curious. I play a lot of mono LPs as well as stereo. I have an Ortofon SPU stereo cartridge and my phono stage has a mono/stereo setting. Not a bad compromise. I enjoyed this video, thanks for posting

@@sensational_cellar8606 I can highly recommend the Miyajima Zero mono cartridge for playing vintage mono LP's. It has a nude conical diamond stylus. I had a 1mil stylus but switched to a 0.7mil recently. I think the 1mil is perfect for 50's records but I've found that the 0.7mil traces the inner grooves of LP's from the 60's better. My turntable is a modified Lenco L75 with an oak plinth and a newly constructed Ortofon RF297 tonearm. All in all, it sounds great. Great detail.

@@fwrarejazzvinylcollector It sounds like a great vinyl source. I have a Lenco under my sofa I must get refurbished! Do you now have both 0.7 and 1.0 Miyajima cartridges for different groove width? My SPU Wood A is conical too and 0.7 as 95% of my LPs are reissues. I like how jazz sounds with this type of stylus, it doesn’t emphasise surface noise as much and just bounces along nicely.

@@sensational_cellar8606 Get that Lenco up and running! 🙂I'm planning to maybe get some money for my 1mil Zero. We'll see. I think I will be satisfied having only the 0.7mil. Conical sounds great on vintage jazz records for sure. It's also not that critical with alignment compared to other stylus shapes.

Fredrik those pieces you show is the art of vinyl collecting outstanding beauties . True Blue is definitely one of the finest pieces and Lee Morgan City Lights is so underrated. I still dream of one day getting and original of Hank Mobley Soul Station but with todays prices I truly doubt I will ever get one . I really love your jazz passion Fredrik great stuff. Lovellandrew

Thanks my friend. Much appreciated. I hope you’ll get your copy of Soul Station! I know it’s very difficult with the prices going up so much. But sometimes good, or at least fair deals, pops up. Keeping my fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏻

Hello Fredrik, I have some of those grails as well but not the McLean. I did have an opportunity to buy it from a collector, but he asked for a Rolex in exchange.

Hi Stuart, which ones are you missing? Jackie on AdLib: I understand. I really can’t blame him though. It’s so difficult to find and there aren’t that many top copys around.

Wow never seen the McLean or Flanagan anywhere. Awesome to see Tina at number 1.

Finding those two in the wild is probably not happening. They are not popping up on eBay for example much either. Few and far between. Tina was a lovely player for sure. Cheers!
