Records were made to be played, so that's what I do.

I bought a lot of records until 1989 when they went away, about 30 linear feet. But now I rarely listen to them because I don't have room for them upstairs and have to keep them in the basement. I have always kept my LPs in premium sleeves and liners so they are in excellent condition. I have thought of selling some, but the task is just too daunting.

I have a lot of 80's, 90's, & some 2000 hip hop R&B. I'm trying to see what my collection is worth. I have around 4000 records.

are you still around man? I have a couple thousand big band/swing vinyls and have no idea to just chill on them for life or what. they don't seem too popular these days. There's too many to ever sift through each individual one manually. I doubt all of them will even have any online history whatsoever

I only buy used records unless it’s a new release from one of my favorite artists. Just give ‘em a good clean and they will sound great 🤟🏻

According to Discogs, my collection is worth about $25,000 (median estimate). The most valuable record I own is a recent purchase made only five years ago. It is a reissue copy of Jellyfish's 1993 "Spilt Milk" album. It is currently valued at about $230. I paid about $35 for it.

It is ironic the cover of the Beatles title you refer to is worth more than the music on the vinyl.

The 3 most expensive records in my dad's collection is a 1975 Australian pressing of "TNT" by AC/DC, an 1981 Australian copy of "For Those About To Rock" also by AC/DC and a 1979 2LP copy of "The Great Rock and Roll Swindle" by the Sex Pistols.
The 3 most expensive in my collection and was surprising to me is a 2014 copy of "Alive 2007" by Daft Punk, a 1970 copy of "Let It Be" by the Beatles and a 1979 copy of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" also by the Beatles.

Back about 10-12 years ago I used to frequent estate sales as something to do on weekends while waiting to move from Seattle to our farm in Kentucky. I would buy boxes of 30-50 records for five to ten bucks. Before our move, I gave about 2,500 or these records to Goodwill, but kept about 900.
Needless to say I got multiple copies of many records, but would keep anything worthwhile that was also in good shape. But one record stands out. It had a plain white thick cardboard jacket with the word "Pepper" written in the top right corner. The record itself said "Mobile Fidelity" and only had grooves on one side. The other side was smooth and shiny. Turns out it is a stamper "test disk".
I also found out it's worth quite a bit.

My most valuable record is a copy of Rolling Stones - Beggars Banquet. It's worth about $140 according to Discogs. I inherited it from my father in law, so even though I'm not a Stones fan per se I won't sell it. It would probably take me stumbling upon something worth thousands to consider selling. I love listening to my records so much that I just can't part ways with most of them.

"Let it Bleed" is the best Rolling Stones album followed by "Beggar's Banquet." You will be a Stones fan if you listen to those two albums.

@@drwisdom1 I do like Let It Bleed, but sadly have not added it to my collection. Based on your recommendation, I'll give it a few more listens, maybe pick up a copy.

Exactly what I needed to know. Dad left us a ton of old records, someday we'll need to go through it all. Lots of european titles (french, spanish etc.) that I never heard of. Hopefully these sites reveal some matches. Thanks for the great video!
