This is a great way of memorising the fretboard, technically it is learning the notes via 'intervals'. Also this method, whether you realise or not, teaches people to play the C major scale over the entire neck as well (as there are no sharps or flats). Overall, great video!
Thank you. This helps. I did the same thing in terms of not memorizing the sharps and flats. I just memorized the 7 natural notes up to the 12th fret (2 dots). I didn’t have to memorize the 24th fret or anything above the 12th

I think the thing that helped me learn to memorize the notes was seeing the C Major notes on a piano, and how you can play 4 octaves from low E to high E on the guitar just using the 1st 4 frets then just the high E string. Understanding that these notes are just repeated on other strings and frets really simplified things for me.
Of all the guitar videos I have seen about learning how to move around the fretboard, this by far, is the best. I like the A string-CDE/D string-FGAB technique. Everything clicked and now I have a better understanding of what I am doing. Thank you.

Easier way to remember is that E# and B# do not exist and the half step from each is its next major note such as F and C. Also the 12th fret starts E-A-D-G-B-E. Halfway in between at fret 5 starts the note of the string beneath it, A-D-G-B-E-A
Sorry but 5 is ADGCEA , assuming you can remember that 1 and 6 are A, you only have to remember 4 strings - DGCE, eg, David Grant CEnter. But I like your suggestion.
E# and B# -as well as Fb and Cb - DO exist. There is no note *between* E and F or *between* B and C, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. F# major: F# G# A# B C# D# E# F# C# major: C# D# E# F# G# A# B# C# Gb major: Gb Ab Bb Cb Db Eb F Gb Cb major: Cb Db Eb Fb Gb Ab Bb Cb

Excellent video! I’m self-taught on the guitar so I had a terrible teacher. I had failed to memorize the notes other than the open ones and a good number of chords. In just a few minutes I have a good 50% memorized. I noticed something that made it so much easier that you failed to mention, the dots on the fretboard. These were right on the natural notes you showed and so I didn’t have to memorize what fret to start out on. My wife, classically trained musician, warned me that the dots could be in different places on some guitars, but my 3 were right on, including my Strat.
Never found anything that literally taught me the ENTIRE FRETBOARD in literally seconds. I'm never forgetting the fretboard ever again. Thank you so much dude! ♥️

Ohmygosh! The moment he said that E and B are the only notes that doesn't have sharp. I got it! Thanks a lot! 👌
well aren't you going to be confused when you start reading sheet music because you are going to see both E# and B#
Dont need sheets to play guitar true you'll run into some advanced theory problems.
But never had an issue with it in 20 years.
Easier way to remember is that E# and B# do not exist and the half step from each is its next major note such as F and C. Also the 12th fret starts E-A-D-G-B-E. Halfway in between at fret 5 starts the note of the string beneath it, A-D-G-B-E-A

E# and B# -as well as Fb and Cb - DO exist. There is no note *between* E and F or *between* B and C, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
F# major: F# G# A# B C# D# E# F#

Cb major: Cb Db Eb Fb Gb Ab Bb Cb

Fantastic! So simple but highly effective.
I found this video a real breakthrough compared to the fancy triangle approachs that went in all directions on other sites
Awesome! Im glad I could help!
This technique of learning the notes by association is helping me a lot. Awesome approach. Thank you
Best fretboard memorization video on TH-cam, I've watched at least 20 or so! Finally I'm starting to get it. Thanks for the video Kai.
So you're true jedi, thanks! Big steps forward with this, simple but so true.
An easy way to remember that B and E don't have sharps after them is to remember it spells (be) or (BE) Thanks man this is a great video. Thanks
No problem! I'm glad it helped so much!
This video was insanely helpful to me thank you so much. Also idk why people are complaining about the audio so much it sounds fine
No problem! I'm glad it helped so much!
What a video!!!!!!! I am impressed with myself i just learned the entire fret board! Thank you buddy! You definitely were meant for it. Your are a great guitar teacher.
You deserve a million sub!! Please don't give up. Keep posting interesting video man! God bless you!
holy cow literally took me 20 mins to completely memorize every note on the fret board
Dude this video is amazing. You got my like and sub.
4 strings are a lot easier to memorize (assuming you can remember that 1 and 6 are E- duh) so I have used "AD(d) Great Britain" for the inside 4.
you should do one on "Battle Ends And Down Goes Charlie's Father" (from low E-string to high e-string with a hiccup on the B)
Thamks
Thanks Frodo! Really smart way to break it down.
Bro, not only did you help, youre also entertaining. Subscribed :D
This is great. A highlighted pdf would be great for this to reference. I'm going to try and make my own highlighted screen shot and make it my desktop background until I get it perfect.
Dope, you can send that to me through the email on my channel and I'll share that in the description! I'm glad you learned from my lesson!
