  • Interested in High Power (or Hi Power) but hate the price and you don't want a used (or Used Up) one, then check out this NEW for 2022 offering imported by EAA (Here in Florida!) called the Girsan MC P35 (also called MCP35, MC P-35, etc.). It is chambered in 9mm, comes with one 15 rd magazine and is about half the price of the new FN High Power that has just come out in limited quantities (so far). These are made in Turkey, in case it's an issue for you.

The magazine safety is very easily removed. It's a very simple procedure that only takes a few minutes. There are numerous sources available online that show how this is done or any gunsmith can do this for you for a nominal charge. Removing it will not affect anything else. It will alleviate the issue of having the mag in to drop the trigger and improve the trigger pull.

The match model corrects all the problems we face with the standard including sights straight trigger and no disconnect for 100 more dollars

I removed mine from my standard Browning Hi Power and I really didn’t notice that great of a difference. It removes that slightly gritty feel in the initial pull before you get to the wall but the trigger breaks about the same. Trigger pull is great on mine. Not super light but incredibly crisp with almost no perceived movement.. it just snaps.

    • @davejones67

Not simple…you have to remove trigger pin and I gave up.

I heard that the mag will fall out if the disconnect is removed. That came from Honest Outlaw. if his info is incorrect, I'll remove it.

Springfield Armory SA35 uses a trigger assembly that does not have the magazine safety and the cutouts are not present to install those small parts. Cylinder&Slide aftermarket triggers follow that pattern as well.

The hipower is such a beautiful weapon. I think that with all the ones that JMB ( not to be confused with fjb) produced we NEED his birthday to be a national holiday. As a reformed machinist I am in awe of his products...I mean his weapons have allowed us to remain free. Maybe Hon. Justice Thomas will hear my pleas. He has addressed my other ones as of late...LOVE YOUR CHANNEL..thank you

... I picked up a MC p35 not long ago, and being a Hi-Power fan, find it a faithful copy of an original FN p35. And the mag not being able to go in as the trigger is pulled back is because of the magazine disconnect - if you want to cure this you just need to take out the disconnect mechanism ...

  • @TheRobman139
    @TheRobman139 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Just ordered one.
The SA doesn’t have an ambi safety, so as a southpaw, I had to choose this. The new FN has an ambi safety - I think it even has an ambi mag release - but it’s just too much coin.
As far as I can tell, the Girsan is an exact replica of the HiPower used by the British military for decades, except the Brits went with a spurred instead of rounded hammer, and the front sight blade has a different profile, if memory serves me.

    the "gritty"
is the spring of the mag disconnect
and the slight rub of the disconnect
foot on the mag front wall... you can
largely eliminate it by doing the uptake
w/ safety on then go to fire and the trigger
has the same feel as no disconnect

The magazine disconnect is very easy to remove. Great video on BH Spring Solutions, and replacement springs available to compensate for the difference in tolerances for the trigger, as the disconnect effects that. Those are great guns! I learned to shoot on a Hi Power. The interchangeability of parts between Browning/FN Hi Powers and those from Springfield is not great from what I gather. I do love their safety lever however. Im awaiting my Girsan which I put my deposit on, to finally come into stock. Thanks for the video!

This seems to be a copy of the commercial Hi Power Mark III that was made in the late 1980s with a firing pin block to make it drop safe. You can tell by the "paddle" like mechanism recessed into the slide itself.

The Springfield is a dumpster fire. FTE, FTF issues have been common for over a year and
people have sent them back to Springfield SEVERAL times and the problem continues.
Springfield SA-35 is just not dependable and as a CCW for defence, it's useless.
This Girsan Works !!! It's the only choice for a Hi Power today; the new FN is not a Hi Power
at all, way too thick and bulky, they're just using the name for sales.

  • @ThubanDraconis
    @ThubanDraconis ปีที่แล้ว

I have one and the good thing about it is that it's a Hi-Power clone. The bad thing is that it's a Hi-Power clone and comes with all the inherent problems of the Hi-Power.
Gritty trigger until you remove the magazine safety. Even then it's a bit heavy and not as good as you would expect from a single action.
The safety isn't quite as positive as it should be, meaning it can be flipped from fire to safe too easily, but this can be fixed.
The round hammer isn't all that bad at biting you, but it can still do it
The design is not intended for +p ammo so stick to standard pressure only.
Newer 9mm pistols usually give you a bit more ammo in the magazine.
But, it's reliable, at least in my experiences. It feels great in the hand. It's easy to shoot being heavy enough to soak up recoil while still feeling comfortably light. It's a bit more compact than most full sized 9mm pistols. It's very easy to strip down for cleaning. And it's just plain classy.
From looking at the internals I would suspect that this was a high end pistol. It really is a great value.
A word of warning, at present magazines may be hard to find. But I'm sure they will get restocked soon.

New Jersey CCW means three "reputable" people vouch that you have not lied on the form which is only accepted in triplicate and notarized then off to a third party to get fingerprinted and get four passport photos as the police don't do this anymore then you must pay 150 dollars for the first gun and 50 dollars for a second gun which would be the only guns that the license would cover. Then after all that you must take a certified training course of classes (at your expense) and a 50 round target test of which 10 misses means you failed start over .The same process needs to be repeated every two years. Have a medical marijuana card? Then don't bother applying. Easy Peasy we are free!
