This Noco Genius stuff, these chargers, are trash. I barely used it over a 5 year period, like a dozen times max, and now it doesn’t power on. Not abused, left in its box, undisturbed. Not the AC fuse, tried several I know are new. AC input is the problem. That power LED doesn’t even light up, so I would have to start there. Honestly, garbage whatever the issue is. I have an ancient transformer charger, I remember melting it on my motorcycle battery (!) and it STILL WORKS, I use it on batteries that ‘clever’ chargers say are dead, so I can then put the ‘clever’ charger on them! Not impressed, but I will follow your lead here - no pun intended. Take care all, and thanks for the explanations. [NOTE: the motorcycle I am speaking of, was in my dad’s shed in 1984 - ! Not quite half a century, but four decades nearly. Come on, ‘Genius’ people!).
All of the ones I have pulled apart have all broken one of the legs for the transformer off the board. Also, Both have had a different board layout to this one.
I have an exact model, I have followed your video and checked until the D201 and D202. Seems everything good so far. My unit doesn't power on so I am wondering if you have the circuit drawn yet for the unit. I am suspecting something is wrong right after that diodes that switches the power to transformer on/off but I am not able to trace it due to not having circuit and lost the electronics troubleshooting skills already haha. please see if you can help me.
Hello. I have a Noco 10 genius that I bought off a guy on facebook, it showed up doa ...won't come on, no power, no lights, nothing. I can't return it, for reasons I can't go into here ...live and learn. I only paid $60 for it, and it looks brand new, so I'm not sure what's going on with it. I'd like to send it to you for repairs, but for already paying $60, another $60 wouldn't be worth it, since you can buy new for $100. Is there anyway you could point in the right direction on what to meter/check? ...I believe the fuse right by the 120v connection is good. Then there is a flat yellow pancake looking fuse (i think it's called a thermal type fuse or a pct resettable fuse) ...this fuse shows to be "open" on my meter ..this I think is suppose to be closed (then opens if ever overheats?) From here I'm not sure what to do? ...any help u could give me, I'd appreciate, I really don't want to just throw this in the trash and have to buy another one. Thx -Mike
