    Just about two years ago I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma at vertebrae C5. As we planned treatment I remembered how pushy my grandma was on watermelon juice. She was fanatical about growing watermelon, and taught me her methods. Since I love watermelon, I grow my own too. As we finalized my treatment schedule and spinal surgery, I dove in to making large amounts of it. Blended with two herbs, spearmint and a little ginseng, 4 to 1 ratio, added to 32floz watermelon juice measured 1/2 cup. Let sit 2 hours and strain.
    I drank about 60floz per day based on notes she had given me and an equal quantity of water between, 120 floz total per day.
    In short order I had greatly reduced pain, and treatment went so well, they cut the treatment schedule in half and scheduled the surgery. Sure enough, 8 weeks after surgery I had no additional tumor development, classified as fully in remission, and my repair and fusion surgery showed three times the fusion rate than anticipated.
    When I told the doc what I was doing to help it along I mentioned the recipe, and he just smiled. He was already familiar with it, and was keeping abreast of clinical tests, although he couldn't recommend it to patients yet by rule. He told me the increased natural fluids acts as a fluid booster with spinal and joint fluid desperately needing that hydration during critical injuries and disease, and the herbs adding to absorption.
    Within a short period of time I was back to normal, and resumed all activities 100% 12 weeks after treatment. In fact, I've never felt better!
    I'm signed off from all but yearly checkups, and more active than before, all due in some part to natural watermelon juice and healing herbs. While I don't see it as a replacement for chemo or surgery, I STRONGLY recommend it as a supplement to the other treatment components as a partner in healing.
    And a glass at breakfast everyday gets my day off to a good start better than coffee!
    Love your videos! Keep em coming!

    One of my favorite juices is canteloupe. I juice the whole thing, seeds, rind, pulp. Add mint. Juicing the rind adds a creaminess, and it cuts the sweetness to something pleasant instead of over-the-top. Out of this world delicious!

    I'm surprised you don't use the rind and the white stuff surrounding the watermelon, itself. The green rind has a lot of clorophyl in it and other nutrients that are extremely good for you. Just make sure you get organic and that you wash it really good before blending or juicing it. The whole watermelon is extremely good for you (not just the pink part which is what most people only eat).

    EXCELLENT! For more mint flavor with fewer mint leaves or just more mint flavor, simple crumple them hard before putting them in the jar. This will break them a bit and release more of the mint flavor. Also, I find adding a squeezed lemon wedge or tablespoon of lemon juice adds a nice refreshing sparkle to an already amazing taste.

    Why did you discard the rind? It's my understanding that most of the nutrition is found in the rind. If I were to do watermelon, I would juice it rind and all. I may have to go pick up a watermelon. Watermelon/kale juice would probably be good.

    • @Sakura0754
      @Sakura0754 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      It just makes it smoother. You can keep the rind if you want, I would. It's only when you get the seeds I strain it, though, the seeds are a REALLY good nutritional feature so if you can put up with eating the seeds than do so.

    • @ShroomFactory
      @ShroomFactory 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I wouldn't use rind with pesticides / insecticides on it.

    • @Sakura0754
      @Sakura0754 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why you should wash your fruit and veg regardless of eating the rind or not...Or buy organic pesticide free fruit and veg.

      ***** But then it's not a secret is it? It is a nutritional tip, not a secret, even for those born after her. If i knew about it before she was born, then it is hardly a secret.

    • @imakebigsmiles
      @imakebigsmiles 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wow, Really?!
      -Saying it's a secret to some... it actually is revealing something that many people don't know.
      -Second, there is someone born almost every second of every day. Something old to you is something new to someone else.
      -Third, Saying it's a secret is an advertising and marketing tactic to get people's attentions such as the words (Discover, Learn, Revealed, How to...) and many others. If you were born back then I'm surprised you didn't put this together but then again "everyone doesn't know everything", which proves my point. OR...
      -Lastly, you just like showing off with the cliche "I already knew that..." response you gave. So I say to you "Nothing new here" right backatchya.

      Hi Cristian, agreed Vit@mix blenders in my personal view are expensive, especially for a kitchen utensil. An excellent alternative would be to purcahse an 'Enpee' blender, typically costing less than half the price of a Vit@mix, they also come with a very long warranty in terms of the motor. The model I have is the 'Enpee Prestige', this has served me well for going on two years now. Conduct your own research and due dilligence beforehand, you will find the motor is extremely powerful. I don't normally post comments on YT, but wanted to share the love as I experienced similiar concerns regrading cost, I hope this helps you. I wish to add I do not endorse any product and have no affiliations with any company, I am simply a consumer sharing my own personal views on the matter, best of luck.

      You can go online to vitamix and order a reconditioned one for $200 instead of 5. Sure its still expensive but it is a vitamix and beats the crap out of a ninja (had one of those...piece of crap.)

    Hey Kristina, been making watermelon juice for years, its great because you don't have to add anything unless like you, the herbs, if you like that taste. Me, i just prefer plain watermelon juice. I cannot drink all that juice in one da, I would never get out of the bathroom. So I make the juice and freeze it in very small contsiners, then I csn take as much as I want out. Just let it thaw for awhile. Can eat it as a delicious icy smoothie or thaw all thw way and have a delicious icy drink. I just love your videos. Love tge way you are trying to help people. I have been juicing for years. I do eat certain foods, but I have lots lots of weight. Have lots of food allergies is what led me too the vegan lifestyle, because it has taught me how to make healthy foods I can eat, without all the preservatives and whatnot they put in a lot of this garbage they sell as food.

    Watermelons and mangoes are one of my favourite fruits, and yesterday I bought a whole watermelon and it's lovely and sweet. It's been a hot and humid summer and it goes down well, but I don't bother with the juicing and straining I just eat as is.
