I absolutely love rodeos! I’ve always been fond of horses! And seeing them move in this was is beautiful! I have a horse and his name is dreamer he is a 17 year old paint gelding. When we bought him, he was just a simple trail horse. But now he’s going to be taught to do barrels. On my dads side of the family I come from a long line of barrel racers! Wish me luck

My moms horse was also a 4h show horse. Last year was her very first time barrel racing and she won high point champion in 4h !!! My class had all the “ good “ barrel horses, everyone else had pleasure horses 😂 I was crying because we won it 🥰🤣

Okay, for the people who think that they know everything because they've been riding horses for a year, maybe two, JUST STOP! I've been a barrel racer for 10 years. I've competed in rodeos for 10 years. If this were animal abuse, people would not come to watch and it would automatically be shut down. I'm friends with bull riders and other people in the rodeo world. These animals are not abused. It's the bull's natural instinct to buck and the bronc horses used are horses that aren't broke yet (a.k.a "wild" horses). So y'all who think you know everything, learn your shit before you get your panties in a damn twist. [Edit:] Also, the only reason barrel racing is associated with rodeos is because it was the only thing women could do since rodeos were always male dominated. I'm sorry that you're not happy with what's in the history books and a "tradition" that's been going on long before any of y'all were born.

The Tennessee Walking “big lick” was a whole game of “how well can we hide it.” People were oblivious to it, then the video came out exposing and people saw what really went on they were disgusted and they get examined very closely now

Tbh, what they do to "Wild" horses and bulls I think is abuse. I barrel race and it isn't abuseive depending on what the riders have done. I have NEVER abused my horses, I love em! I dont know why people do this but everything but cow roping, the tricks such as trick riding and jumping fire/ liberty and barrel racing. Those aren't abusive. I have seen the comments and I agree with the bronc riding and bull riding being abusive, but nothing else.

I totally agree with you, another thing is the "wild horses" are not actually wild. A lot of them are just sold to the rodeos and have a rope tied around their flank causing them to buck like that. Mustangs are not this crazy, I have worked with them before.
That's part of life at the farm bud. If a cow gets lose, the time is ticking before a predator gets it. They're not just gonna lay down and let you walk them back, you chase them down on horse back and lasso them. Rodeos are to show of the skills cowboys have to use on the farm every day to keep their animals safe.
"Bucking Broncos" are just like Bulls in bull riding. They've been doing that for years and the horses know to buck when the door opens so no, the man was not shocking the horse. He was adjusting something either on the bridle or the saddle and the gate opened.
