Britain has had some great solo artists but Bowie is the greatest ever
As a child of the 70"s, it is still hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that we now live in a world without David Bowie. Depressing!

I was a senior in High School when this song came out, my draft lottery number was TWO…I expected an invitation from my government any day to join the Army & go to Viet Nam…then the US Congress ended the draft…I was among the 1st group of 18 year old boys NOT inducted. I still remember partying & dancing to this song in celebration. I truly believed that I would have been KIA if I had gone to VietNam❗️☮️ Still do

Agreed. As a child of the late nineties, it rings true with me too - a testament to his genius as a songwriter. We all miss him.
He was a big Mott the Hoople fan who were about to disband through lack of success.
He offerred them " Suffragette City" which they declined.
He then wrote them " All the Young Dudes" and gifted it to them.
The rest, as they say, is history!
Bowie sounded great, looked iconic, and held the crowd in the pam of his hands. No one even remotely as good as him performing today.
And also the palm of his hands.
Even if there was a performer as good.....they'd have to write a shit load of the best songs ever as well.

Bowie wrote some the greatest songs of my lifetime but I think this one is the best of them all......and he gave it away to someone else. Legend.

I was 24 when we saw the great man at Glastonbury. God rest his soul. We felt indestructible back then. Where does the time go? This remains the finest live set I’ve ever seen. Eclipsing The Prodigy; Cypress Hill; Radiohead; Dave Gilmour… you name it. 💚
