The mnemonic for G-Protein Coupled Receptors could be improved by writing "Go to AC for Craps and Poka". Poka (as opposed to Poker) helps remember PKA even better! Credit to Meryl Braun for the idea!
I just noticed Dopamine wasn't included as a GPCR! It affects Gs (b1), Gi (a2), and Gq (a1) as well as D1 and D2 receptors. I'm still trying to understand more of its effects though
The amount of joy it brings me when I look up a concept on TH-cam and see that you have a video on it is immeasurable. I just know that a concept that I was struggling with is going to suddenly become way more understandble 💖
I SPENT AN HOUR TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THIS USING MY PROFESSORS LECTURE AND NOTES AND BY THE END I WAS STILL CONFUSED. BY WATCHING THIS VIDEO I UNDERSTOOD RIGHT AWAY. THANK YOU SO MUCH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART REALLY
As a nursing student, I watch a LOT of educational videos, but this is the first that led me to actually comment. Very solid video, very helpful. You made a lot more sense than my professor explaining this topic, and I find your mnemonic memorable. Thank you!
Thank you for your clear explanation. Just for the fact, i like to point out that MAP-kinase-kinase-kinase is called Raf, MAP-kinase-kinase is called Mek and MAP-kinase is called Erk. (You mentioned MAP-kinase-kinase-kinase controls Raf and so on at time 13:20 to 13:27).
Yeah, that actually confused me. Raf IS the MAP3K, like Erk is the MAP2K... He said it like if they were non enzymatic proteins being controlled by something else.
Thank you so much. I never understood this for first two years of med school. Finally today I needed to understand this for pharmacology and YOU somehow sprinkled sense into it. THANKS A LOT ONCE AGAIN.
i literally just decided i was going to take the Ls on these questions, and then BOOM! Dirty saves the day 🥳bring on the signal transduction q's IM READYYYYYY 😤
15:45 so you end on a high note and feel like you dominated this video 😂😂. Reminds me of Yuval Harari's book, Homo Deus and all the talk about our biochemistry there. Thanks for the great video ❤
Also, keep in mind everyone that: - increased levels of GTPase = decreased Gq/Gs/Gi activation. - if they talk about activation of a G-protein followed by a phospholipid cleavage = Gq pathway
Wow I've been needing a mnemonic for thisss! Thank you!!! Do you have a video on the Heme synthesis pathway & porphyrias? I haven't found it and I can't think of a mnemonic! I always forget the steps for this pathway!
Hello! Thank you very much Mr dirty for this video it really helped me break down this complex topic uno something easily understandable with extra learning and I am hoping to see a topic on : apoptosis and necrosis on day arigatou go sai ma su and may God bless you😁
Hey! Thank you for your biochemistry videos they helped me a lot last semester. I wish you could do more videos like this one because it appears now in my molecular biology course and only you can save me from this awful course 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
a mnemonic for the substrates was literally layed out for us, I dont know if he didnt mention it because it was obvious and everyone knows them or if it was seriously missed. its the first letter of all substrates in the same order he had in the video for G protein coupled receptors Gs and Gi the substrates are: FLAT CCHHAMP GG. or FLAT CHAMP cggh (pronounced sugah) the 2 Gs can remind you that its Gs AND Gi and the theme of things in pairs of 2 should remind you that its H2 and ADH V2 for Gq: GOAT HAG , there is only 1 goat so its linked to V1 and H1 for RAS: remember its associated with growth and insulin is an anabolic peptide + Growth factors. letters are random IIPFE cGMP; its associated with dilators as he mentioned. NO ANP BNP and Endothelial derived RELAXATION factor are all dialators
Thank you so much for this video. Can you please make a video on genetic/molecular markers for cancers? Also a video on general immunology would be helpful. Thank you.
sorry to be redondant but thank you SO MUCH!! (also a note... about the G protein and alpha subunit, are you sure it's GDP into GTP and not the other way around?)
when I can't remember the Gas activates the Adenyl Cyclase pathway, I think of that song GAS GAS GAS I'm gonna STEP ON THE GAS, which gets the adenyl cyclase pathway going...
Do beta blockers block the Gs pathway preventing it from occurring? Or do they somehow activate the G inhibitory pathway? How does the cell know if the alpha subunit is supposed to activate Gi or Gs?
The mnemonic for G-Protein Coupled Receptors could be improved by writing "Go to AC for Craps and Poka". Poka (as opposed to Poker) helps remember PKA even better! Credit to Meryl Braun for the idea!
Super explanation sir
you da man
God bless bro
or just read it in a british accent haha
I just noticed Dopamine wasn't included as a GPCR! It affects Gs (b1), Gi (a2), and Gq (a1) as well as D1 and D2 receptors. I'm still trying to understand more of its effects though
"any financial support will help but if you dont donate im still going to make free videos anyway. ", this guy is legend

This is the only video on transduction I have found so far that ACTUALLY talks about everything we're studying. Thank you!
Oh my god, I was just stating how I wish there was a video on this, thank you so much step in 4 weeks!
came back, 1.5 weeks. prayers please
How did it go? Any surprises?
Thanks a million… you just saved my brain😂😂

I just spent a half hour looking at this page in First Aid completely lost. I could kiss you right now.
you had NO business going this hard 😩🔥
omg where on the FA (page/ FA year)?
@@laurabou1244 They barelyyyy talk about it. It's ridiculous. Page 337 in the 2020 edition.

We should call you Dr Big Picture! Thanks a million! I can never thank you enough for simplifying what seemed un-understandable

Why take an L on anything dude?
Get those pts. You know like 20 questions is the difference between like 50 points lol
This is game day baby! Stay hungry
Love your channel & you deserve a million+ followers!! I couldn't thank you enough!!
..and my Phd professor making 6 figure income couldn’t explain it in 2 hours lecture-shame. Bless you Sir!
OMG this is god sent!! Was in dire need of this!
15:45 so you end on a high note and feel like you dominated this video 😂😂. Reminds me of Yuval Harari's book, Homo Deus and all the talk about our biochemistry there.
Thanks for the great video ❤
You didn't talk about non receptor tyrosine kinase (the Jak/stat) which is driving me insane. Please help
See medicosis Perfictionalis he explained this top clearly…. JAK GET PIG😂
Cytokine → Receptor → JAK → Phosphorylated STAT → Gene Regulation.
it is important video for medical student, it,s help full and give good idea about signal transaction.
The only video on this topic that I like
Also, keep in mind everyone that:
- increased levels of GTPase = decreased Gq/Gs/Gi activation.
- if they talk about activation of a G-protein followed by a phospholipid cleavage = Gq pathway

Not yet, but it's one of the videos in my queue that should be coming soon. I've already done some of the slides
He does now baby!!!
I don't comment on videos often, but damn.... thanks, man!!! ❤

Step in three days. Perfect timing, Dirty!
It's comprehensive !
Thanks a lot
I promise I'll donate frequently once I get a job
Wow! This is my tomorrow exam's test content!
finally a video that connects Ras w/ Receptor TK.
3 years later and your video unironically made me enjoy this lmfao
Thanks for the lesson
Brilliant video! 👏👏👏👏👏
Dirty, T_TI love you so muchhhhhhhhhh. You save me from a mess!!!
finally!!!
Ras is activated by grb+sos
Gdp - gtp is used in gpcr but in rtk it's different 😬😬
Wow I like me a lot this one video.i am pharmacist especiallized in Pharmacokinetics
OMG thank you sooooo much!!!
Really appreciate your help.
You are amazing
you saved my life thank you
Thank you. You did an amazing job
just what i neeeded!!! thank u
Thank you so much! It really helped!

Thank you so much....you are blessing👍😀
Excellent.
all killa no filla! thanks!
thanks you. do you have any good way of remembering the hormones related to each pathway
For IP3 mediated: GOAT HAG:- GnRH, Oxytocin, ADH V1, TRH, Histamine H1, Gastrin
For cAMP: FLAT CHAMPs CHuGG:- FSH, LH, ACTH, TSH, CRH, Histamine H2, ADH v2, MSH, PTH, Calcitonin, hCG, Glucagon, GHRH

Great video
Superb
Awesome video...❤ ...BUTTT!!!!!!
Why didn't you just save us the stress of checking the abbreviations 😢
However...10/10
Thank you so much Dirty!!
You are the best bro
Thanks!
I thoughts ras was activated by GEF which is activated by SOS bound to grb2 which is bound to the rtk
Thank you so much sir . It was very helpful video 🙏🙏
awesome video!
Great video! thank you for that!
Nice work
thank you this video was amazing
Thank you so much for this video. Can you please make a video on genetic/molecular markers for cancers? Also a video on general immunology would be helpful. Thank you.
Best taught by najeeb sir
may God bless you, may your pillow be cold on both sides at night when you sleep.
Thank you so much
Thank you so much for this video

Any video on cytokine receptors and jak/stat pathways
sorry to be redondant but thank you SO MUCH!! (also a note... about the G protein and alpha subunit, are you sure it's GDP into GTP and not the other way around?)
thank you so so much🙏
amazing!
I LOVE THIS!!!!
Great one!
Does anyone have a pneumonic for remembering hormones to individual pathways 😢
thank you😊
Thankyou Sir.. much obliged 😀🙏🏻
Thank you
His Mickey Mouse-sounding impression of us is spot on lol
when I can't remember the Gas activates the Adenyl Cyclase pathway, I think of that song GAS GAS GAS I'm gonna STEP ON THE GAS, which gets the adenyl cyclase pathway going...
neat and tidy! cheers, my duuude.
I love this video
Huge thanks sir!
Do beta blockers block the Gs pathway preventing it from occurring? Or do they somehow activate the G inhibitory pathway?
How does the cell know if the alpha subunit is supposed to activate Gi or Gs?
Saviour saviour 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
There's absolutely no errors, in this video and the entire content of this video is relevant in (May 14) 2024, right?
Because I'm ready to memorize this for Step 1
but what about janus kinase receptors? Jak-stat?
Thank you!
For ip3 - Goa ghat
Thanks for this great video, but as a question,Angiotensin2 signaling
doesn't work through Gs?
Thank you that is greaaaaaat
I thought ERK is MAP Kinase? So MAP kinase kinase controls the phosphorylation of ERK because it is the kinase for MAP kinase.
Good video
New Dirty?! ITS GONNA BE A GREAT DAY!
ok Xavieriteeeee!!! and this vid def saved my life!
@@anianoelle7033 Hey Ania, It is literally amazing!
