Wow! That is so worth it! Catching rainbows of that calliper! Never fished there yet! Always been meaning to go! Such a giant! I’m one of your new subscribers! Good video!
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures Amazing scenery and such a beautiful country we live in, especially in the winter snow and ice! Nice, big rainbows, so colourful. Great to see your enthusiasm - like a kid in a candy store or a kid opening up presents on Christmas morning! Merry Christmas! Be safe and travel safely!
@04Kool only one way to find out, and that is to go check it out for yourself. If you're not comfortable with assessing the ice for yourself you should not rely on someone else's assessments of the ice. Ice can change from day to day. Best to always use caution and check it independently! I fished 6 lakes recently, first to drive on three of them. More ice than people think this year. At least up north there is more ice than we usually have at Christmas time. Don't take my word for it though.
Thanks to my buddy for lobbying hard to have the spawning creek closed to angling these rainbows are still there. Thanks for sharing. I suggest to all fisherman to release all the rainbows caught.
Are you sure.... I just reviewed the last 8 years of stocking information and they only put 406 cutthroat in the lake in 2022. All the other years back to 2017 had no stocking. I do not consider that a stocked lake fyi. Unless you have other information that is not published on the Government of Alberta website.
Yeah, seems some lakes that they key in on the little stuff and bugs can still get them on flies that are not baited. But I do use bait... just force of habit. Unless I am using a rapala type lure, then no bait for sure.
@Beyond_the_Barb if they're still in there at this point, they aren't going anywhere. There are so many videos on these lakes online. Even you have published some. The biggest rainbow of the year published in the regs often comes from here too, and the lake is stated.
@@TheFishingDoctorsAdventuresI guess so I just hate all the out of province people who come and keep the beautiful rainbows. I wish it was just all catch and release there. Not all people treat fish as respectfully as you do sadly! Great video though man keep em comin🙏
@@Beyond_the_Barb Yeah if the regs allow people will keep fish. That's just how it goes. Alberta is kinda always been into their fish limits and allowing some retention. So you see lots of out of province people there? Where are they coming from that you can see. Guess that shows how well known it is though if people are travelling to fish it. Kinda like me driving down to Idaho to fish Cascade Lake... bonking perch and catching hogs! Fishing traveling on the ice is pretty big now. I love traveling all over and hitting different sheets of ice.
@jumpninthedarkalley is Shannon frozen??? I fished holes from 7 feet deep to 60 feet deep. Basically from the shore to the middle. I'll fish Shannon if it freezes. My brother lives in Kelowna now so I'd go visit him.
You were on em. Those make a day top notch on top of the screen saver views 💯
@ermr9563 thanks, it is a spectacular place for sure!
That’s a Moby!! Good stuff there fella!
@@Iretile thanks!
Geeze those are chunkers! There are quite a few of those monsters lurking in there.
@jayfishes5656 yeah it really is crazy the quality of fish that swim in those waters... they seem so pristine, but must be excellent sources of food.
I so miss fishing there. Great video
@@BlueSea_72 great place to fish! Thanks for watching.
Man what a monster rainbow! Great video as usual!
@BRADYBROSOUTDOORS thanks for watching! There was actually two rainbows caught of similar size in this video.
Beauty. Merry Christmas.
@@ruckinehround6965 thanks Merry Christmas.
@ would love to go fishing
Yeah, get out there and give it a try! It's fun.
Great video man. Love your editing job on this one. 👍
Thanks for watching! Glad you liked it.
That was a beast and the views were beautiful
@@crankbaiter_fishing yeah thanks! Prettt cool. Too bad it wasn't sunny.

Nice job !
Thanks
Beautiful there. We fished spray lks one xmas for four days and were spoiled with clear blue skies. Upper Kananaskis so worth it ❤️✌️👍
Yeah fished there a few years back one time as well. Got a couple bulls on a really cold day.
Great Video!!
Appreciate it!

Thanks. Have to stay young. Find something that makes you excited.
Great vid! When did you head there? I wanna go but idk how deep the ice is with how warm it’s been haha. Is this lower?

Around @8:00 i talk about the ice.
That rainbow is so big it might have laker genes in it 😂
@adammcinnes2957 haha... maybe not. Must have got lucky.
Looked like a great day! How was the ice up there ?
@@warren8282 I am pretty sure that was in the video.

@shawnyork9065 yes 100% should release the fish. I agree. I mean unless you get a serious bleeder.
The land of giants!
Somehow it is.
They do still stock cutthroat fyi....

How deep were the fish?
@@eliwiebe8447 all different depths.
that was a pig 🐖, nice information about no bait, and ect.
Thanks for watching. Hope you enjoyed the video.
Yeah no bait in some lakes... need to figure out the alternative.
@TheFishingDoctorsAdventures always do enjoy
What kind of sonar are you using? Or is it a camera?
Cheers
It's a Marcum Flasher.
That's a fatty. I haven't ice fished with bait for a few years now; just plastics and lipless crankbaits mostly. They work.

Nice. Fish seems bigger than lakes in Kamloops area
Sure is bigger!
Ive hooked some whales in kamloops 4-8lb. They exist. Need to pick thru the small ones
@jumpninthedarkalley yeah there are some big ones around Kamloops too!
Names the lake sadly 😢 nothing will be left next year
