Step 2: Measure and Cut the Carpet
The first step is to measure your stairs. Measure the width and depth of each step and riser, and then add a few extra inches to ensure you have enough carpet to work with. Use your utility knife and straightedge to cut the carpet and padding to the appropriate size.
Step 3: Install the Carpet Padding
