Hi Dennis. First of all I just want to say that I am really impressed by the quality of your images!!! Congrats on your skills. :) THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR SETTINGS & TIPS!!! QUESTIONS: After watching this video I have a few simple questions. >>> #1??? > What settings do you leave "DETAIL" at in SLog2(PP7) when shooting in 60fps and WHAT for 120fps??? BOTH ??? (((Because I know the Default DETAIL in PP7 (SLog2) is set at "-7", but that's for Sharp for Full 4K use as I understand. ))) #2??? > Do you try to Over-Expose SLog2 around +2 or less ? Around +1.5 or Around +1 ??? #3??? > Do you put everything on a 1440p timeline in your editing program to edit it like that too and then UPLOAD to TH-cam at 1440p too, ?? OR ?? > Do you use a 1080p timeline in your editing program and ONLY UPLOAD to TH-cam at 1440p for better UPLOAD Quality ??? #4??? > Do you not find the 60fps to be better looking Slow Motion image. ( ?? Do you use 120fps more or 60fps more ?? ) THANK YOU SO SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME IN ANSWERING THESE QUESTIONS. :)
Thank You, I appreciate that! I will try my best to answer your questions! 1. I do not change any of it whether it be 1080 or 4k. I find it better to add sharpening in post if needed. But I hardly do that. 2. I over expose +2.0 or +1.7 not any lower or higher 3.I edit on a 3840x2160, 23.975fps, progressive sequence 4. I find that they are both very similar in image quality. But it all depends on what i'm shooting. I always prefer 120fps if there is enough light. but it all depends on what you're shooting. 5. No Problem at all!! Thanks for taking the time out to watch my video!
Hi again Dennis. Hope you are doing good. :) Sorry to bother you again. There is just one thing that I wasn't clear on after everything else you answered which I am so very thankful for, and I now know that you work in a 4K timeline. So the question is the following >>> ??? After all is done, what Format and what Resolution do you Export to then use to upload it to TH-cam to get the quality you get?? (264?? MOV??) (4K?? 2.7?? 2K? or what exactly) >>> BECAUSE I see that most your videos highest settings is 1440p. So, I'm confused to what that is exactly and how you do that or get that. THANK YOU AGAIN. :)
I'm looking to get a rig like you have on the Sony, are you able to keep the rig on camera whilst using a stabilizer, any pros/cons to it? Thanks Dennis.
Hey Dennis, musician here who just discovered your channel. (literally 5 minutes ago). I just took a glance at your page and can't wait to go in on all your videos. It's especially cool that you have a bunch of music videos filmed on the a6500. I'm looking to purchase a camera around the $1k range and so far the a6500 looks like the clear Winner...but I was also wondering (might be a stupid question because I checked out your gear list) what did you use to film this video itself? Looks really nice and crisp when you're talking!
Hey bud , sorry just found your video and subscribed, quick question under movie1 tab, set to manual exposure, xavc s hd you have it at 120p 100m, my options are 50p 50m , 25p 50m, 100p 100m, 100p 60m , i dont have option for 120p 100m or 60?. Also for 4k , i notice you have 24p 100m , mine shows 25p 100m for some reason?
@@DennisFilms hello sir. What lens do you recomend if i buy sony 6500 for shooting live band performance and for cinematic shooting. I need only one lens. TIA
CreativeMF Prod I don't really buy LUTS but I use my own custom LUT which you can download for free under my color grade video. I would recommend really learning how to color grade bro. Just so down the line, you can teach what your experiences are
Dennis Films 💯 thanks and I'm trying to get better at color grading I make my own Luts also in ligtroom but for cine 4 profiles haven't tried to make any for s-log yet. But I will look forward To it and I will check out your Luts bro and soon hopefully I start creating my own s-log Luts. Thanks bro
How do you like your small rig cage? Theres another one I'm looking at on amazon for the same price but comes with a handle. Also do you know if these cages will work with gimbals?
Dennis Films I just got the moza air because it was on sale for 400 instead of 600 and it's paylaod is like 5.5lbs so I think it should work out. Does the rig cage help with over heating
just subbed man! your videos are great. I would love to see a video about how you do your 120 fps slow motion. They look really good on all your wedding videos and music videos. Do you think that upscaling your slowmotion footage to 4k improves the way it looks on youtube?
Hey Clint! Thanks for the sub! I'll add that to my list and also I don't believe it really makes a difference as far as quality, because when uploading it to YT is compresses the file.
Caviar Media I really enjoy the 4k over 4k in a7sii, it is sharper because it actually shoots 6K down scaled into 4K in camera. Yes I have but I use my a7ii for photography mostly. Don't get me wrong I really like the a7sii but if I had to choose it would be the a6500
Scroll the top dial to the setting that looks like a film and the button to start recording is the hidden one near where the right strap connects, it's black with a red dot.
thank you so much bro.you been a big help. now I can start my freestyle video channel tonight!
Ray Chris no problem and that's great bro!
Dennis Films ima keep following so I can learn to shoot better brotha. Keep doing your thing man!
Gave your settings a try on a shoot yesterday and it turned out great. Thanks brotha!

Netzer Alima thanks homie!

Netzer Alima yeah it's a great rig, I do have to take the handle off but I keep the cage on one I put it on one of my gimbals

Such a great Video. But please tell me how i can set up the s-log profile on my sony a6500
thank you bro !!
Thanks!
Thanks buddy!
That zebra feature is incredible
Video is jittery at 4K when there's movement in the scene (or when camera is panning even slightly) so usually I shoot at 1080
Yeah definitely noticed that too, such a pain in the ass

Love your work bro
Thanks bro!
Thank you super helpful
Chris McKiernan 👍👍

Excellent. you could do a tutorial on how to overexpose in slog2 without tools like a waveform monitor. please
eskelchulo that's next!

Quick question, What luts do you recommend for your slog-2 film settings for music videos etc?

Thats next!
Thx bro!!
THANK YOU
for low light shoots would you still recommend pp7 slog 2 ?
Jsa Film yes!
Have you ever tried using HLG?
How do you like your small rig cage? Theres another one I'm looking at on amazon for the same price but comes with a handle. Also do you know if these cages will work with gimbals?
HD EDITS it's awesome! Yes they balance with gimbals
Dennis Films do you always keep your cage on your 6500? Even for gimbals?
HD EDITS always bro
HD EDITS except for the zhiyun crane v2 because it's can balance correctly. But the ronin can handle it!
Dennis Films I just got the moza air because it was on sale for 400 instead of 600 and it's paylaod is like 5.5lbs so I think it should work out. Does the rig cage help with over heating

I cant find the 24fps and th 120fps in my frame rate also in record sitting there is just 25p there is no 24p !! Any can help me
Change pal /ntsc
hi, does a6500 video format in MTS? because i cant open an MTS file with sound on adobe premier. thanks
AVCHD gives you .MTS format file, you can change to XAVC for better quality
a6500 or a7s II?
a6500!
why? and have you ever tried shooting professinal photography with your a6300/a6500? even though you mainly film music videos
Caviar Media I really enjoy the 4k over 4k in a7sii, it is sharper because it actually shoots 6K down scaled into 4K in camera. Yes I have but I use my a7ii for photography mostly. Don't get me wrong I really like the a7sii but if I had to choose it would be the a6500
great reply thankyouu
but due to the supersample, the jello effect on a6500/a6300 is worse than that of A7sii
You didn't get to video settings in your camera menu system until 2:19, genius.
i am just trying to find the video mode
Scroll the top dial to the setting that looks like a film and the button to start recording is the hidden one near where the right strap connects, it's black with a red dot.
Audio needs improvement...ditch the funk music.
Don’t think song is funky at all
Bad audio quality and music in the background doesn't help.
