Omg, just the casual conversation between you guys is loaded with valuable info. When Matt implied that a heavier shaft would be beneficial for people with out to in paths and Ian gave a casual nod of agreement it finally dawned on me why I've always preferred heavier shafts! Great stuff

And then you guys discussed it further to make sure nobody missed that. Just quality from you guys all day long. Huge fan here. Ian, you always impress, and Matt, you're definitely becoming quite knowledgable yourself.

It was very helpful to hear the last few minutes of your conversation where you talk about the benefits of shafts across the spectrum of golfer’s abilities. I assume that the golf industry has always had great products but it’s never been very good at telling it’s story. You guys have changed all that.

Ian, when I talk to golfing friends I use my own experience with Chris in Burlington. Never in a million years would a retail salesperson pull a Nippon Zelos 7 iron shaft off the wall to fit a senior golfer looking for graphite, as I was. We tried many graphite shafts to pair with my AP1 irons, they were ok. Finally Chris asked me if I was open minded, I said yes, and he pulled out a 7 iron that looked almost toy like, it was so light but I hit it farther, higher and straighter than I’ve ever hit a seven iron. Now that I have the full set reshafted, I’m improving my whole game. You don’t expect that at 70.
TXG is the missing link that the golf business has always needed.

Timothy Daniels Chris is awesome, I’m so glad you enjoyed your time with him. Outside the box thinking is essential as a club fitter, when conventional wisdom fails us we often need to pivot off on to a different path.

Matt: you should unvail your new driver the week of the Masters. Do it like signing day for college football. Be seated at a table with all the contender's hats lined up, Mizuno, Cobra, Ping etc. Do a mock Q& A with Ian. Announce your selection, don the winner's cap and then do a new driver live demo. Promote the pants off of it, its all about content, clicks and likes. Pray for winter to end soon. All the best.

Loved this!!!! I have a question for you guys. Will these shafts perform significantly different between different heads? I noticed that I preferred my tensei white in the M3 440 head that I played last year, as opposed to the orange. Since I changed to a g400 Max head I could barely strike that and the orange really stood out as the better performer. Would that be that the ping head is heavier and the swingweight went to high for my comfort with the white and the orange being counterbalanced kept it in a range I like? I play the orange in 70tx and the white is 60tx but tipped an inch.
I honestly couldn't believe how much it changed as I loved the white and then it turned into a combo that I literally can't hit and it went from a nice feeling shaft to feeling dead and absolutely no control of strike. On a side note to that, if I changed from 70tx to 60tx in the orange, 'should' I get similar results with just a lighter feel?
Sometimes the combo can feel a little on the heavy side. It doesn't lack feel though.
Or just look into one of these new offerings beacuse I have to feed my addiction 😂😂😂
I still love how people keep saying that a shaft makes no difference also. Matty, it must be just coincidence that those strikes happen to change at the very time that you switch shafts over

Yet another great video from you guys. I've been tuning in for almost a year now after seeing the posts in the MyGolfSpy forums and have a question on driver shafts. I've only had a small opportunity to try out aftermarket shafts and have found that Project X typically lands at the top of my list. It seems like the Even Flow and HZRDUS shafts don't make it into the video's much, any particular reason for that? I love finding my way into other shaft brands to read up on, just curious about the limited screen time for Project X.

Hey guys, thx for everything. I recently went into get a driver fitting. Didnt pull the trigger in the end for different reasons. My DSS is approx 105. First driver i tried were all heel which is unusual for me. Id love to know why with the new srixon with hzardus red stiff anyway, i stuck a 59g regular shaft into the new wilson, strike point went back to mid-toe as usual. My CHS went up 4/5 miles an hour as did balls speed. Was spinning l8ke crazy 3500 or more straight down the middle with less carry. So i took a chance and ordered a fuji speeder 2 569 which is 59g low launch/spin. I currently hit the kuro kage silver 60s which is 67g. If i can get my spin and smash back with 5 miles/hr ballspeed back ill be in heaven. Long story short could you do somwrhing on lighter shafts with low spin and launch charateristics please im hitting an m3 driver. Sorry about the essay. Thx again.

Does Matt play these straight in, or are they tipped at all?
I am probably a bit slower than Matt, but would say the seeing if similar. I don't have access to a fitter and am a but curious on what goes into the decision to tip a shaft for a player. Tighten up dispersion? Lower launch a tad? Or, even just to tune spin a bit?
Does typing a shaft .5"-1" make it play significantly different?

We know changing shaft length needs a head weight change to maintain swing weight. How influential is the shaft weight to swing weight?

Hey Matt, I know ya’ll tested shaft lengths a year ago. Did you ever go to the 44’ inch shaft, in the video you were getting better results with the shorter shaft. If not, can you explain? Undecided on if I should get the tour length F9 or the stock F9. Thank you.

I've been playing 45" in my driver as my swing has changed a lot since that initial test. Demo both if you can that's the only way to find out what's going to work best for you.

just watched this fantastic video. stiffer tip to manage strike point kinda blew my mind. can’t recall hearing it explained that way but makes total sense.
ian i’m an early releaser as well. but my ss is low 100s with good efficiency. always need launch and spin though. what shafts should i look for?

Is there any way you can figure out what shaft is for you without use of a monitor? I tend to push slice and am looking for something to hit straight or draw a bit. I actually hit the fusion good with it in draw setup with the stock recoil shaft but am looking for more. Any ideas?

So the TZ6 "65" references the weight? The Accra website says "mass: 70" for the TZ6 65 M5. Does that mean the weight is 70 rather than 65?
