This is such perfect timing for me, and very likely for many others. Thank you.

@@jjp897 As long as you've done your research on breast implant illness and know the risks--most women are just fine with implants, but those of us who are sensitive usually aren't. My body knew it wouldn't be ok with them, so I never gave it a thought.

Hi there, Thank you for your videos. I’ve been following you a bit and learning some things. I was just diagnosed with DCIS almost two month ago and I’m not sure what I supposed to do because I’m dealing with autoimmune disease Scleroderma and now this. I’m going to have to see a doctor for a second opinion in January 2th

Just found you today. I'm currently waiting for a surgery date for a double mastectomy. Spacers will be imputed the same day. Then 3 months later, implants. My breast cancer from 1995 is back. A lot has changed but I'm still scared. I'm now 68. I pray & put one foot in front of the other.

Update, I've had the double mastectomy, expanders are in & on Friday I go for my 2nd fill. Still in pain but not nearly as much. Greatful that the "waiting" fear is over & now just practicing self care while healing. I've got family who are a wonderful support system as well as God almighty.

Hi Kathleen, it would be so great to meet you in person. I live in Vancouver, WA and I know that you are in Oregon. Do you get involved with Breastfriends too? I've only looked up the website and I have been in contact with their free therapist. I'm getting a mastectomy this week Friday. You mentioned that you waited to get your second one. The thought of getting a second one scares me right now because the other breast doesn't have cancer and I have no genetic mutations....not sure if I'll change my mind in the future.

Yes, I do go to some of the breast friends events-mostly the art nights! I was tabling at their walk last month for Stand Tall AFC. I really love their staff. Very sweet folks. I’ll be in Vancouver for the Girlfriends Run for Pink Lemonade Project next weekend, along the waterfront and Ft Vancouver. Maybe you can get a ride to the route and watch us run and walk by (I’ll be walking topless with my friend Debby!). I’ll be thinking of you-hoping you have a peaceful and calm week ahead. Send me your email address and I’ll send you my surgery prep/recovery tips from my nutrition practice!

Sadly, I'll be recouping from the mastectomy I have this Friday at that time. Thank you for all the wonderful information that you sent me via email and thank you for wanting to invite me to the Girlfriends Run for Pink Lemonade Project next weekend. Have a fantastic time and I will plan to be at the next one!

Several years post simple bilateral mastectomy - good riddance to bad rubbish.

The thing is, after chemo I only 'needed' a relatively small amount of tissue removed. Then they made me wait over eighteen months for a reduction on the other side.
That probably would have been enough for someone who cares more than I do about appearance, but they'd deliberately left a chunk of scar tissue in the side that has previously had the cancer, to give it shape, and I kind of hate it. It made me feel like I was still fighting it, instead of having won.
So I went to the department head about getting a mastectomy, even after all the work that was done to preserve tissue, and they basically said 'Sure. Your cancer, your treatment choice'. So I got my double mastectomy, and it was a literal and psychological weight off.
