I can understand some people disliking a video because we like different things, but how can one dislike this video? This is just the coolest thing one can do with a macaw.

This bird is free. Not caged or housed. Lives in a tree of his own desire and chooses to fly with his human flock companion. He is not running away he lives this way. Not a pet and not a captive. The best of parrot-human interaction without the "owning" of an highly intelligent sentient creature. Breathtaking to see his power and agility. They are best to erext mass amounts of energy in flight everyday. Then we wonder why we stick them in a cage or aviary and keep them in our version of bliss but there version of prison. No wonder they pluck and self mutilate. This is how they are happiest. I keep parrots and give them amazing lives but still lives as captives.

This is amazing but I can't stop thinking about the cars coming from the opposite way.
Birds have fast reaction times, many times faster than humans. And they don't think of things the same way we do. We get nervous going into the oncoming lane, whereas the bird doesn't even think of it as the "oncoming lane." It just sees oncoming cars as an object in its way.
Parrot did say hello a few times while flying. I'm always happy to see parrots talk

No, they most likely trained it to come back. I can go outside with my parrots and I let them fly around. I've been training them for nearly 2 years.
you dont have to "train" the parrot to come back, once you build the trust with the parrot, he wont fly away.

Lindsey Swain maybe youre right :-) but i never had to use leash or train him. I once lost a bird due to lots of similar buildings around where i lived but when i was walkin around looking for the parrot he came to me once he saw me :-)

I used to raise Green-wing Macaws, free-flight trained them and used them as "demonstrator" birds teaching topical forest conservation at local public schools around California. Seeing your happy, strong flying B&G Macaw brought tears of joy to my eyes...thank you!

This is one happy bird ... when a macaw's pupils go small it means they are happy and excited and having fun, just look at its eyes ... it's loving it. The parrot we used to have (Billy) would say "hello" then start laughing and then say "shut-up" and start squawking then start laughing again and then say "Billy", it was bonkers! This macaw is very well trained at flying and loving every minute by the looks of it.
That’s incredible! I watch these free flighted bird videos with my macaws, a B&G and GW. They are as amazed as I am.

This is why I always go drinking with a parrot. Not only does it make me look like a pirate, but when it comes time to drive home I have a little assistant to help keep me on the road.

My cockateil flew away today and when he did we chased him into a tree about 60ft up and the he flew too far away and now I will probably never see him again

Happened to me when i was a kid, i shouldnt have given up...
I know I am 10 months too late for you mate but if you have another bird at some point then maybe this will help, or someone else who sees it who still has a bird, next time you should put their cage somewhere they can access it like outside in the yard or something but near where they are used to always being and make sure theres some food in there, leave the cage open for them to go in. It might not happen but its possible for your bird to come back looking for food and you might come out to find it in the cage ready for you to shut the door, this happened with my budgie when it flew away after about 7 years of never getting out but being allowed to fly inside the house quite often maybe helped him, either way he got out one night and the next morning he came back for breakfast, he died a few years later but he lived a long budgie life :P

I'd prefer to put my bird on a harness, especially the ones you care about that cost a lot of money. Don't want that flying away! Though I certainly believe in keeping the wings fully flighted for exercise and fun! Taking your bird out for a good fly on a nice day can be very rewarding. Great video. Thanks for sharing. :)

I have a video of my free flight corella parrot alongside me in my car , he also flys along my motorbike and helps me get my cattle in ,also guards the farm when I'm away so I'm told by friends , I got him from a lady that had him locked in a budgie cage for twenty years .he was overweight and sad ,I got him a harness to learn to fly and after six mths I just let him out without it and he just stayed with me living outside totally free flight ,I have a real problem with caged birds but I know we all can't live on a farm and give them a cage free life .i knew nothing about the care of parrots when I got him ,all I did was give him constant attention and love and took a risk on releasing him ,but thankfully it work

My macaw does this, think they love it because it's like we are flying together, I'd love a bike or something open air, I drive my car but he's expert at landing in the window, he was out alone today I'm told playing hiding seak with the seagulls, so I went looking for him because I know he doesn't like them, I did not see him where he was, then he scared the life out of me just appearing in the drivers , he just popped on my husband who's asleep in the chair 😆
