You are the sweetest!
Always keep ur head on a swivel it's good that you are aware of surroundings
Biggest thing I can tell you as a fellow wanderer.....always go with your gut !!! If you get a bad vibe right away when you find a spot dont question it just go somewhere else
This is verrrryyyy true. It's just not worth it to stick around and find out if your gut is right haha. Thank you!
@@MeganClaarke another rule I live by on the road when rest area camping is I NEVER stay in rest areas near big cities and if possible I stay at the "welcome centers" as I enter a new state because they are high traffic 24/7 and less likely to have creepers lurking with all that going on
Good luck with your new adventures. Will be fun to watch as you learn and evolve into a traveling nomad.
You got the first nerve racking day/night out of the way, smooth sailing from here on ! The world is your oyster as they say !
Best wishes from Ohio, USA ------ Sean
Thanks Sean! Getting through the first anything always feels so empowering 😊
Well done, Megan. Wish you the best.
I have the exact same vehicle, color to.
Currently in Nevada
Algorithm knows I'm interested in single women travelling this way. I don't think I'm brave enough & I'm kind of old now, but I find it fascinating & going to try to do short trips in future. I like the idea of a trip vs a permanent living out of a van life, so your extended trip sounds like something I may actually try someday. Have subscribed. I like your thoughtful exploration of your feelings. I imagine if you were the daughter I never had... I'd be "Oh my" & then say "Okay, you go girl."
Nice setup. Hope the video is a little longer. And yes, I'm still here 😆
Hahaha you're in the end of the video club now! 😜
Nice! I’ve done a Ford Explorer and a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Planning a Ford expedition next year.
Try instant coffee! Less thinking as you wake up.
I subbed today. Looking forward to watching more videos. I am planning on doing this at retirement in 5 years.
Good evening Megan ! Thank you for sharing the start of your journey ! You know to well from prior experience. Once you dive into the adventure you’re seeking, those little fears take a back seat ! Stay cautious, stay safe & always follow your heart !Wishing you a path full of cherished moments wherever you encounter yourself ! So double tie your laces, hit the trails & keep smiling !
Thanks for sharing. I'm getting ready for a solo camping lifestyle too and working through all the doubts and jitters
Great video, looking forward to more. 😊
🤘🏽it’s wonderful that you are making these memories for yourself. Wishing you fantastic adventures.
Thank you :)
Off to a flying start.
Great stuff Megan! Good to see you
Thanks Adam! 🤗
Always great to see somebody taking a chance and experiencing life good luck to all your doing 👍
What a cool video! Ive been wanting to do this with my SUV as well! keep the videos coming 😃
Bringing something from idea to reality with your own two hands is an unmatched feeling. ❤
Congrats .
Cool Rig you should carry hornet and wasp spray. You can shoot it from fairly far away and if that gets in somebody’s eyes, they’re definitely going to the hospital and the best part is it’s not illegal to carry 😊
Love what you do..can't wait for the next adventure🤗
build looks awesome🔥
Like a few others who found your channel by accident, so did I. Truly enjoyed your freshness and eagerness. Please stay safe. Aloha from HAWAII
Enjoy and stay safe❤
Looks liberating !
Looking forward to getting out there on my own adventures!
Love to hear it 🙌
Hi Megan way to go on the journal and on your first night in the Suv

Fantastic gal!! Enjoy each moment that’s what this old gal is going to do!!🥰
Thank you, always good to have that reminder ☺️
Congratulations 👏
Thank you 😁
Awesome video chica
sweet camper! I ive in my element but your build is so cozy!
Awesome camper!
You do know it’s a half ton pickup with a SUV body on it.
If you get into a fuel mileage bind. Remember to slow down.
Speed eats gas and wears out parts faster.
Take care and stay safe!
I'm not sure I realized that when I bought it 😂 Great tips!
Hi Megan thank you for the great video really enjoyed stay safe and take care see you on the next great video 👍
Thank you so much! 🥰
@@MeganClaarkeyou are so welcome my dear friend wish you the best out there safey yes you are a beautiful young lady 🥰 and so sweet see you on the next great video 🌹🌹
Oh another thing.
If it’s summertime.
Open the roof vents over your left shoulder on the ceiling.
Your lucky, the big truck has a big Air-conditioner. Heat too.
Good eye! I always forget to open those haha. They even have separate controls
Nice simple set up, new sub!
Thank you! ❤️
Came by this video on accident and happy I did! You have a very bright, positive aura Megan, I am looking forward to following your video journey in the next 4 months along the road! :)
Thank you so much!! I appreciate you 🤗
Hi Megan (spelling?), I'm Joe. I am excited to follow and learn from you, because I will be doing the same thing, but in a truck camper I can stand up and walk around in. 😂
So glad your engagement didn't rob us of awsome solo adventures
Of course!! I will always love my solo adventures 🥰
You should definitely make a trip to newfoundland it's butiful hear
I would love to make it to the east coast 😍
@MeganClaarke it's butiful i am a resident and I love it
hello, first and foremost, never depend on others for help, they will take videos of it happening so they can post it, but most will not jump in to help. always be aware of what and who is around you. you are your first line of defense. gut feelings, be safe, hope you have many miles of great adventures.
You are on your way... Hooray! Looking forward to more adventures I really like the journal idea I keep one at home and put all kinds of stuff in there... drawings, doodles, ideas, poems, lyrics, purchases, random events etc so more than just a journal I guess. Good luck. When you get a chance listen to Chris Cornell sing "I Am The Highway" ✌️😀🎵
ENJOY
Try pour over coffee. It might take a couple of tries but once you figure out the water to coffee ratio it is pure bliss! Have fun on the road, good for you for challenging yourself!!

Impressive Megan✨️

You might consider a cell phone booster antenna might help in the desolate areas
That would be so handy! Do you happen to know any decent brands to look at?
@@MeganClaarke WeBoost seems to be a pretty popular brand.
@MeganClaarke we boost is pricey but it's a great product in a jam
Hi,love your build. Hey,,if you really liked doing your build you should upgrade to doing a 5x8 cargo trailer build and have 2 camp set ups,,it’s what I have. I got a 2003 Chevy Blazer that works great for stealth camping in,but I also have a 5x8 cargo that is 6 feet high that I can stand up in. It had a slide out couch that slides into a bed. In couch mode I have room to stand up and get dressed. In the storage under the couch I have a cassette toilet and 12 volt fridge. I like how you stored your fridge. I also have a 12 volt portable a/c. And I can put a window unit in the tailgate of my Blazer. I also have a Bluetti 200Max solar gen with 2 180 watt solar panels that are on top. Then I have a big cargo carrier on top of my Blazer. So much versatility with my set up. I hope you would want to get a cargo trailer and build it out and have more great content to show us on your channel. I subscribed to see your adventures there in Canada,,love the scenery
we fina cross path in the future
Cool subbed
I just came across your Chanel and I'm glad I found it! Definitely earned my sub! I like the montage and song that played @ 2:27. Any chance you can tell me what song that is? Thank you! :)
It is so nice and soothing, isn't it! The song is the instrumental version of Leave the World Outside (Acoustic Version) by Danica Dora :)
@@MeganClaarke OMG YES!!! I want to use it in one of my future videos lol THANK YOU SERIOUSLY! Keep the good videos coming 💪👍
Hi Megan..I just came across your video..and am wondering how things are going for you now..I am hoping to try the lifestyle out..any feedback would be Awesome..p.s Merry Christmas 🎄 Christmas 🎅
cool
Thank you 😎
👍
Your channel will blow up !!!
Pretty girls tend to do much better with social media lol
Hahaha, everyone loves a solo female traveller 😂 Thank you!
Subscribed 👍 Go camp in Arkansas in the Ouachita Mountains and dig crystals. It's so peaceful ✌️
Beautiful area I passed thru and loved the buffalo river but those springs were wicked cold haha
ugh it's 2.15 here last week :(
😱😓
My favorite part is how you never see it actually be nighttime, ever.. Strange, ain't it?
What did hinges ever do to you??!!
😆
They are so particular and I am too impatient lol😩
Cutie Canadian , tell us more , please ...
I agree, she is beautiful ❤
What kind and year is the SUV? (Can you put it in the description?)
Looks like a Chevy Tahoe or a GMC Yukon, around the 2001-2010 body style.
It is a 2006 GMC Yukon. That's a good idea to put it in the description, thank you:)
I'm in the same boat an it's very lonely and bored by myself maybe get to know each other an do this together
Please be safe, and make sure you are armed
I like your journal entry, but it (the vid) would be better if you had some actual just extra footage (even pictures) to show when you’re reading through it. Journal voiceover!
Hi Megan, came across your channel. I really think you're a sweat girl. I have subscribed to your channel. Hope to see you soon. Take care and be careful, and don't be so truthfully. There is good and bad people out there.
youre verry very cool
Being alone can be frightening. You might consider a stun gun or pepper spray for security. Hopefully you'll never need it.
Stun gun sucks it never works and is dangerous
Get a real gun even pepper spray is bad
It can back fire
Stream pepper spray, 2 cans, one on person, one somewhere easy to reach. Plus, a smaller (6") fixed blade for if the spray weans off. Safety and tactics to use what you hopefully/probably will not need to use.
How about she gets her concealed carry permit and learns how to shoot and about firearm safety. Way more effective than pepper spray or a stun gun
@@chrismoorhead11 That would have security if she's comfortable with that. Pepper Spray is cheap, small in size, easy to use and effective.
@@chrismoorhead11except she’s in Canadakistan, anti gun anti self defense, eh.
Get we boost
I'm in Florida come get me, I will live with you
Just Curious, what is your Nationality?
I am Canadian!
Take a pic of all your logs just in case.
Next time put coffee in the cup, no way you could pick up and set down like that without spilling
Subscr8bed. Looking forward to new comtent from you
I only have 500 subs but I will sub to you BEAUTIFUL WOMAN!
Amazing!! I hope it has been going well :)
Have you thought about going to an EV to save on gas , utilities and heat?
Oh that would be so wonderful. There is a girl who has done that! @littlehippygal
@@MeganClaarke so which one would you get.
two weeks and old content, last was proposal video so I take it the van life is over lol
Yes! I actually went on this road trip in 2022, but didn't have time to edit and publish so it is soo late. We're prepping for a bigger rig for the both of us now so vanlife won't be over 😎
SUB
Somebody recommended you buy a stun gun or pepper spray, i recommend you buy a super high powered spot light, you can temporarily blind someone ..
I don't understand the big deal. 50 years ago I slept on the rear bench seat of my car a lot.
Why are you doing this? You could have a normal boyfriend or partner and just enjoy being a younger girl. Anyway, in joy your journey. Be well. From Clearwater Beach Florida USA.
Mr. Hahn. Age 90
Hello Mr. Hahn. I have both. My fiancé supports my solo adventures and I support his. We are now building a bigger van to travel together. 😊
Buy a firearm so it is not one of your last lol.
God Bless you
take care and be safe

Hmm, I'm not sure... It is a V8 engine 🥴 Not prioritizing fuel mileage more is one of my regrets. Those are great tips to have, better to enjoy the view anyway!

Had another gas saving thought.
Get a god tire pressure gauge.
Check the tires pressure monthly.
Read the side door sticker near the driver side door.
