Hello friends! I have returned to a regular posting schedule and am now rolling out videos from the building process. ☺ You'll be able to see more detail from each part of camper and what my experience was like. I am especially excited to share the solar and electrical system video - it is very thorough! I really appreciate the support on this tour video and am nearly monetized on TH-cam from it - you being here means a lot. 💕

Nice to see you posting again. You might take a look at Patrick Remington TH-cam channel for a DIY privacy shower or bathroom curtained “pop out “ that you could attach above a rear passenger door. Adding a roof curtain to it could make for a dry entrance for taking off shoes, changing, etc. Looks relatively easy to make.

One of my favorite builds. I found your journey and was looking for the ‘finished’ project (it’s always a work in progress with this lifestyle). I went from RV living for 5 years to recently buying a home but my original love was car camping. So, I’ve re-vamped my no-build build and getting an idea here and there for creativity, comfort, and practicality… then planning the trips and heading out. You incorporate numerous things on my list (or upgrades) and I loved watching you learn your way through the experience. Much appreciated, keep exploring, and happy travels!!

@Megan Clarke I haven't done anything but think/dream about it yet. I actually got sidetracked looking at motorhomes or van builds, saved a bunch of money to buy, and am now back to the original plan. Decided to give up space to keep the 4WD, as we had a record snow winter and the Expedition saved my butt for commuting.

The great feature of the older Yukon or Chevy Tahoe, are the rear seats come out. The newer model have folding seats that take up the cargo space she has. Plus it doesn’t fold to a flat floor but angles higher on one end! Great job for using as a cross country road trip. Tks

Oh yeah for security purposes consider a 12 volt cattle fencer non lethal my dad had a pasture were he used one I got shocked more than once its low amperage high voltage hooked to your truck body it uses no electricity unless you touch the vehicle from outside turn it on from inside when you go to sleep it wont shock you inside , but turn it off before you get out, your setting on 4 rubber tires (insulators)but if somebody touches it while standing on the ground out side they will get a friendly shocking reminder why they should not touch it again it's about like grabbing on to a bare spark plug wire while the engine is running I had a friend who was geting stough stole out of his truck regular were he worked after the fencer that all stopped .

I sure miss my Yukon! Retired for medical reasons only making 14,000 yr. I couldn't afford my car payment and put together 2800 dollars I bought it from a friend who was letting me use it to find a vehicle. Never had a truck this big or 4wd.I freaking loved it,268,000 miles it was good.It was stolen I still look for it on my bicycle!Old rusted it was dependable and easy to fix. Many things I fixed for free, having time but little cash I became resourceful.I also regret not buying a Winnebago for $500 That only needs brakes.Wasnt expecting losing my home job and wife .Now I know what people that are on a fixed income are dealing with.A more solitary life would be better for me.

I was going to do the same thing with a Yukon or Tahoe, but since I have a 4X4 Silverado paid for, I decided a shell on the bed is much more affordable after checking prices of those lol Yukon is much nicer to drive and cozier. I found a twin bed (Lowes) to fit that has a drawer on the end. I was going to attach a piece of plywood to the drawer in the bed, so I can pull out the drawer way out with a support and have storage that slides under the bed out of the way. I would pull the drawer with cooking utensils out and have access to containers behind the drawer and a long table to use.. Just an idea I had. Love your set up!

You have 2 videos, and 876 subscribers. You need 1000 subscribers and 4000 watch hours to monetize the channel. Make more videos, and you will get there quickly! Then you can make $$$ while you drive around. (I know it is not much, but if you build your viewership, it can help you continue your trip.)
That, and I'd love to see more videos. Particularly of the build. I have a Yukon that I'm thinking of converting. I would not be full time in it (at least not at first). I love the simplicity of yours. I'd like to see what you are using for battery. Maybe a video on your whole electrical system?

    It looks great.
I'm looking for a Yukon or may be a Saburban to convert to a camper. I used to have a 4x4 1985 Saburban and loved it.
I will be anxious to see how you adapt to travelling in your SUV

Apologies for leaving you anxiously waiting - I have started to post again starting with the building process. 😊 I thought about buying a Suburban, but the jump in price led me to The Yukon with a Thule to make up for the smaller size.

On second thought because I like your determination to get things done I'll continue along with your van life and watch it on mute with closed caption. There is way too music background literally EVERYWHERE nowadays! But thanks to ways to cancel it out options available I can get some rest from it. It's a drag, but necessary to have to take my earbuds into every store ( except gratefully,Target), and listen to a calm, running creek while I shop, which is actually nice. Feeling manipulated to stay longer to shop, or even to watch a video is still something I can excuse myself from, thankfully. I know you only want to add to the experience of your videos by adding all that music so I don't hold it against you because you're young. But please consider another's POV. And be safer than you think you need to out on the road. Creepers come in all shape and sizes my dear.

    Great video and great build!
Well done! Great use of space!
(With the grey and fresh water jugs can you not have them side by side but on their side eg. So the spout still faces the door /laying on their side but they're next to eachother vertically but laying on side with spouts nearer the top rather than bottom, so they don't leak still?) Just thought it would enable you to have more space and if spout toward the top while still on its side, it's unlikely to leak if it's sealed as you have it - assuming it's still below the sink drain level to work?
(Hope that makes sense!?) Just thought be easier also getting them in and out to fill and empty as they'll be side by side with handle facing out toward door.
    Anyhow excellent job and build!
Ps. Another thought as you ran out of power, You can sometimes get second hand solar panels online that are a higher wattage (eg. 210w and 330w but similar physical size) ..Might be worth looking into, as cheap and will charge your battery quicker/less sun and power the fridge a bit better having one of those instead of just the 100w as long as you have it regulated so it can't blow up your stuff! Lol
Brilliant build though! .. Love your warm/natural personality! Just subscribed to follow your travels!Cheers from London England 👍😎🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

That was my original plan for the water jugs! But yes, the spouts were taller than the drain so it would not work 😓 True! I love buying anything used - also love not blowing up stuff hahaha. Cheers 😊

Better if Indian commode is in use. simlply put cover it and take a bath using bucket and a water mug.this facilitates more if one is ill, need to remove dirt ,while sitting giving sufficient time to clean oneself, the sitting position hide if feel annoy to be exposed .these were some suggestions. All the best.
