    Don’t just yank the old mirror off. You pop the square trim piece off first, and then push on the tab on the back which spreads the metal spring and allows the mirror to slide off with almost zero force. I spent way too much time pulling and prying before I realized this.

    Good install. Learn from my past mistake.... If you plan on tinting your windows, do not bother with the auto dimming mirror. The combination of the 2 make for a rear view mirror that is near useless.

      Yeah my 2020 86 had tinned windows when i bought it. cars at night have to be on you for the mirror to auto dim.

      Maybe they've upgraded the mirror - I just tried it out with new 25% tint I got installed last week. The auto dim works great. Nothing worse than bright lights behind 👍🏻

    RAV-4 2019, limited, but on the mirror at the top right the icon is crossed out and when you switch the lever the camera does not work, can you tell me how to fix it so that the camera works. Thanks in advance.

    Hi! I also bought a mirror and when I started to install it, apparently I didn't have the plug to which I had to connect the mirror. Did you install that plug or should every car come with one? 😢

      on my GR86 it's not obvious, it's stored between the headliner and the roof at the rear of the opening... I hope you found this already...

    Thanks for this video. Installed it on my GR86 and the only difference is the cover for the wiring going from the mirror to the headliner is slightly different.

    Is the auto dimming mirror using a 7 pin connector? Planning to tap my dash cam using dongar splitter. Thank you

    • @Princestir
      @Princestir  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is a 10-pin connector but with only 4 wires in it. The blue wire provides power to the garage door openers.

    Is this accessory compatible with the base trim? Also, can you turn off the mirror's functions?? What are all the buttons do?

    • @Princestir
      @Princestir  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would guess it would work with the base trim. The button on the far right turns on and off the auto-dimming. With the three buttons on the left, you can program to open and close three garage doors.

      @@r-sh1n0da82yes it works with base - I just installed it. And yes you can turn off the auto dim and the compass if you want. Great upgrade. Easy install. 10 min max

      Sorry, I don't know it. I took my car in under the warranty, and they order a whole new mirror which came with a new wiring harness.

      @@williambreviario766 I think the part number did not change. They just fix it at the manufacturer by putting in the correct harness. This is the part number the dealer used to order:
