OMG. So, so, so amazing! My first time hearing this performance. George Duke, gliding on the keys. Love him. Patti Austin singing straight from the heart, not missing a beat, and Rachelle Farrell's vocals are other worldly. The band and other vocalists, harmonies and accompaniment, simply fantastic!

I was there :-) This was by far my most influential concert. I didn’t know Rachelle before, but since then she is my very favorite singe. I’ve never heard so much nusicality, emotions and artistic before.
It is so sad, that George Duke is bot there anymore. I hope Rachelle Ferrell is doing fine again… what an outstanding person and talent. Thank you for this wonderful evening to Georpge Duke, Rachelle Ferrell, Pati Austin, Jonathan Butller and the other musicians :-)
Back again in 2021 for this MASTER CLASS in interpretative singing and instrumentation! There isn’t a performer on that stage that isn’t a force to be reckoned with!

This video is an all time favorite of mine. From the very talented musicianship of each member setting the base of goodness and the vocals of Rochelle and Patti putting the sauce to all that flavor. A delectable piece to enjoy!

mizpahboy Love your analysis...happiness juxtaposed to melancholy. Would we know there was one without the other? I know it's a trite question. Above them both I would rather joy, which is not contingent on exterior factors like I feel happiness is and the blues. Having said that however I love musical expressions of them both.
