Shame on the industry who never gave this woman her props
The industry doesn't matter...
She knows where she can get all the props she wants. The quality artist have always been the most talented
And often overlooked 🤩😁👍🏿
She gets her props from people like us. She's that phenomenal woman.
She SOO UNIQUE, 100% STRAIGHT MULTI TALENT NO STUDIO,OR STUDIO SHE IS SO AWESOME!!!! BADD ASS SISTA,IN HER OWN HEMISPHERE. NO QUESTIONS!
What I find so disgusting, is that in the past female singers with talent could become famous even if they were unattractive women, like Aretha Franklin. Nowadays with "feminism", they have to be attractive and ready to take off at least most of their clothes. Like before women were held to the same standards as men regarding violence. Now it is only one sided and women are held to a level of responsibility not far from that of children. Shows how we have gone back quite a bit.
To reply to your comment Carletta I am so disappointed in the industry for not giving Rachelle Ferrell her props her the way she sings her range, scatting, pitch, and just still keeping it in the pocket. And to see Uncle George Duke and his niece And the George duke band and in that very band we're referring to his friends, his associates. What a blessing.
Somewhere Rachelle is sitting on her back porch mimicking the sounds of nature.. Birds singing, water running, rocks falling, trees swaying, bees buzzing.. She's just so intrinsic!
LMAO!! 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣
This is exactly how she learned her voice as a child. She got her first piano at 10 and was professional by age 12. Child prodigy pianist. In an interview, she said she mimicked birds, wind, trains, horns, church bells.
I giggled immensely 🤣🤣 and you're probably right
Intrinsic..good word...lol
@@avionterria7855 you’re right! I heard her say that in an interview years ago!
The incomparable Rachelle Ferrell and the late George Duke NUFF SAID! RIP Sir!! Who's still listening until the end of time? 😊👍👏❤
This whole ALBUM FIRE 🔥

My number one female artist. OMGoodness her live performance 👏 she took the title in Cleveland when she sang her part and Will Downing's part. Her range is unmatched
You Got That Right ❤
Yessssssss!
Underrated is an understatement! Ms. Ferrell’s voice is sheer perfection! A soulful, sultry, gift from God!
This woman could sing every single name in a phone book & make it sound like mad sexy musical poetry. RIP, Mr. Duke.

Hi 5
Gary help me out....i respect her and I'm intrigued by her performance but what is she talking about
Live music slow, an deliberately done.....all consuming....this Woman, J. B. and the Dukester.... levels indeed......🔥🔥
The one and only, Rachelle Ferrell....there is no other artist that can touch her. She is my favorite!!!!!
She's so good she would make nightingales go silent out of admiration. Makes you cry so good this is
Lawd, she just crawls all up in your soul.

And stay fixed right there.
I don't want her to EVER leave.
She fills u up & sustain u.

Yesssss🎤
She's so darn emotive! She hits a note or a sound and just goes with it to define the feeling. She's an interpreter. The play she did with that drummer was 🔥
ShAre👣🍐❤️🐦 3:01 AMDay 🌎 Se'A Ahhhh 💜
She is so amazing the things she does with a note, is unimaginative and with great musicians WOW AWESOME
this is exactly how i feel about her aswell, most singers it's like they're going through the motion but i don't really believe what they're singing literally nor emotively but with ferrell it's entirely authentic, honest and conveyed in the expression physically and verbally.
EX ACT LY!
Rachelle is the truth. Just AMAZING!!!
Rochelle Ferrell Jonathan Butler and George Duke? LEGENDARY!!!
Rachelle Ferrell is the 8th wonder of the world. She is the greatest female vocalist of all time, period. Along with Bobby McFerrin being the greatest male vocalist of all time.
Brother I will not disagree with you,, but you forgot the first one,,,, ELLA FITZGERALD.. listen to all of her music,, before you forget about her.. much love
She a beast, kills me and brings back to life... vocal greatness at it's best....yassst
She's George Duke's goddaughter...i think! Met them both backstage at Club Bene in Sayreville, NJ years ago.
Still so sad about his passing. Hw was and remains my all time favorite musician. Burn those keys up everytime
he touched them. There will never be another!
+Chaka70 AGREED😄
Bobby Mcferron and this sister are spiritually related.
Rhonda Wimberly Absolutely!
Yes lord.
U can't stay upset over a broken heart for long listening to her.
She brings u-on-OUT!
Reminds us its going to be alright.
That's some healing under 20 mins.
Patent Girl.
😅
Never get enough of this...smh...creative jazz, funk, unspeakable genius!
Rachelle and George Duke made probably the
best dynamic duo in jazz.
Ms. Rachelle Ferrell's voice is most definitely worth the WAITING....so phenomenon,
R.I.P.......The Legendary, Mr. George Duke!
Rachelle Ferrel is one of my Most Favorite vocalist! She has mastered her gift! Whatever her soul hears and feels she can duplicate it with her voice with unmatched precision. The work she has put into her craft has produced an incredible instrument with arms and legs! What a gift from the Most High!
BLESSED 🙏🏾 IS YOUR JOURNEY!
🙏🏾♥️🙌🏾👏🏿💯
@@janethall246 Amen Janet!
Anointing her gift from Almighty God 🙏🏽
This Artist CHANGED MY LIFE! I was introduced to Her Instrument in a studio at a Friend’s home- the song was: “I Know You Love Me.” She held a note across FOURTEEN bar lines- and still had breath control to ad lib out at the end of it! I was never the same as a Vocal Instrument after witnessing that!😇🙌🏾👊🏾💪🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👑❤️🖤💚☯️💟☮️⚡️
She is THEE vocal beast, Idgaf what anybody says. She could put down all the greats
Ive watched this video over and over never tire of it. The performance is so authentic and George and the band are master craftmen. This type of artistry ain't for everyone, and that's okay. Thats what makes us unique. Do love this woman though!!!!
Me too
I keep coming back also just to listen and watch.❤️🎶🎤🎸🎹
Yessssssssss!, same here😊♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I keep coming back, what a beautiful collaboration Rachelle Ferrell, Jonathan Butler and the maestro George Duke and his band ❤️🔥
The guys backings you are at the top of their game Sir Duke and the other musicians, Sir Duke is greatly missed RIP my brother!
When she asked "can we get a little bit funky, up in here, for a minute"??, I about hit the floor! You go girl!! AND OF COURSE, all the other masters too!! RIP Mr George.
I have a five-octave voice and with complete control and comfort in my whistle register--and I just sat and watched this entire performance with my mouth agape. I can't even know what to say about this lady's instrument. #Dead.
She is the truth
Six octaves
@@Luv2shop803 From A1 to D8!
My mouth still open unable to respond.
Only could type & look astounded.
She's phenomenal!
I just gotta say, George, is who he will always be, but the performance by Rachelle, magnificent! The combo of these two musical dynamics, pure genius.
can't nobody do it like Rachelle! she invents her own adlib with some skat and some beat box, it was like she was speaking a diff language!
we can't forget one of the top ten guitarist Jonathan butler. blessed doing what he does very well.
She makes me love her.....She makes me laugh high sometimes with her amazing mouth.....But OFTEN she makes me cry for her sensibility and virtuosity and beauty and voice and soul for the music. She's THE ONE. The world have amazing singers....But JUST ONE Rachelle Farrel.
Impeccable..there’s no other words. Her voice is off the charts! Have loved her for decades. Untouchable! And look at those legends paying that bad ass music....Duke, Jonathan...lawd have mercy!
She was a child prodigy pianist
Rachelle Farrell, Jonathan Butler AND George Duke on one stage? Too much. I would have straight fainted.
Hands down, this is musical talent at it's best!!
She will turn any song into her own. This was a brilliant performance.
It is her song, from her debut album.
The range of her voice is something extraordinary and unusual.
Great band.
No one has mastered circular breathing as astutely as Ms. Rachelle Ferrell. I'm happy to had the opportunity to see her over 15 times starting way back in 1992.
Extraordinary...absolutely pure authenticity. This is living one's essence in perfect harmony.
ONE BAD SISTA AND AN AMAZING KING..(RIP MR. DUKE)..!!!!
Rachelle just snatched my soul right out of my spirit 🙆 Yeah, I said it and I know it doesn't make sense, but nither does how she works that instrument of a body God has borned her with😊 More than outstanding, exquisite doesn't even come close to this womans ability to create and live inside of music 💕💕
I was fortunate enough to see Rachelle live it was a spiritual experience. She is absolutely the best vocalist.
And omg, I just realized
Jonathan Butler is playing with George Duke, WOW
This is artistry personified!!!
This vocal juggernaut..control,range,tone creativity, Ibdon't have an adequate enough vocabulary- Speechless
You are right she can run every scale she just put u on pause ⏯️
Sarah Vaughn is soooooo proud of you.
The improvising with the drums towards the end and she's just singing and riffing on top it....YES GAWD!!!!
You feel every note every syllable of her music down to your very core!!! I love Rachelle Ferrel's music so much!!
This is Great ! the Master Pianist George Duke, Queen of all voices Rachelle Ferrell and one of the greatest guitarist and vocalist Jonathan, Awesome Trio!!!
Still praying for the day that I will be blessed to see this great Sistah in concert!! Been loving her music for the last 25 years or so; "inherited" her first cassette from my big sis, the beautiful, late & great Rita Daniels-Brown!! Continue to RIHP Rita & the late & great jazz pianist, Mr.George Duke ( on piano)!! 🙏 🎹
GOOD GOD!!! MY GOD!!!! BLESSED US AND SENT ONE OF THE ANGELS DOWN TO SING!!! You hear George doing his thing on the keyboard!! This brought the sunshine for today!!!
I couldn't possibly get enough of such beauty ,talent an exquisite performance.
That woman is a human instrument plain and simple.
AGREED. this is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Thank YOU ALMIGHTY! we got to be born in a time to see this! AMEN? somebody say AMEN.
Amen
Amen🎤
Had never heard of her. Then saw her at Mt. Fuji Jazz Festival in the early '90's. It was like being hit by a big wave!
Mrs. Farrell is unequivocally the best singer on the entire planet!! Straight Mike drop!! RIP Mr George duke
You have to appreciate her voice. It's everything that is beautiful, natural and original. Every not that she hits can take to you to a different place. Rachelle can't be compared to anyone else and no other singer can copy that style.
Damnnnn it comes no betta than this.....missing this type of vibe!!!
Her voice has me speechless... Omg!!! Just beautiful
l like the way she contorts her face so as to make sure that the music outcome reaches all the intended frequencies. Rachelle Ferrel is one of a kind and in this particular stage with George Duke she was very happy, confident and she lets her music hang out. l have watched numerous videos of hers but this one is by far one of her best performances.
Will certainly pay $1000 plus easily to be at her stage - if only we could rewind the times.
Miss you so much GD. Thank GOD for technology, cuz we may not have been there, but the SPIRIT that was up in that place for this!!! Rachele and GD at their freakin best!! And the $hit at 12:00 is stupid cray cray. Like I've said many times before, she ain't from here...
George Gee Sr Yeeesss
make it so what it do!
Vocals at it's finest.
@George Gee Sr. you right! She held that note no breathing for 25 seconds! Unbelievable!
I love looking at her face when she sings. Shes so beautiful!

Great example of why we love other humans!!! I saw someone say Miss Farrell is in a class of her own....agreed - she occupies her own space in the special-sphere where special people exist....angel vocalist...and yes - i also agree - she crawls all up in your soul ----
Saw her in concert in Cleveland + have never gotten her out of my system . . Why should I. .
She's so smooth + sensual + versatile Truly, a musical
genius 🎼🎶🎙❤
This is incredible......Dam I wish I coulda seen this in person......
I sure did, in Norfolk Va 1997.- shows you how old I am.
God gave her a unique gift and she uses it to perfection TO my musical brother George Duke rest on my brother you have done marvelous you left us tons of musical memories these two makes you wanta listen because you never know what's next
This is one of my favorite songs. Im only 39. This is one of those songs that paints mental visuals in the creation of mood setting (not meaning sexual, but it fits as well). There aren't many songs in the times of today where the creative process of sound, melody and lyrical are made to compliment one another, enhancing the feel of the song.
This definitely worth listening to over and over and over and over again. Fulfills the pallet of my ears and reminds of the love I wish to share with a man.
Kimberly George
MAN! Very well said!
Good Lawd!! This Woman is Incredible!! These young singers need to listen to her vocal tone, pitch, delivery, passion, range and creative genius.
God has truly given this woman a gift!! WOW!!❤
Wow! The whole band is living in the moment and having a great time performing!!!
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
And she did it all fully clothed, although it seemed like she was having her way with me.
If you lived 10 lifetimes you might lucky enough to hear this genius once, maybe.
Damn, she worked the hell out if that song. Luv it!
Phew! The most amazing improvisatory vocal performance I've ever heard! Out of this world....
And the Music... Behind the Heavenly Voice!!! Breath Taking! Oh My! I just Keep coming Back to this video!
There might not be a better singer in America than Rachelle Ferrell. Hearing her sing is like listening to a song played on a Stradivarius violin or a Bösendorfer piano or a Bach trumpet. But the greatness of what you hear resides almost entirely in the magnificence of those perfectly-engineered components in the hands of a brilliant and consummate artist and technician. She lives inside the music she shares and warmly welcomes each listener to visit every single corner of her talent and to revel and rejoice in the experience.
Don't leave out Jonathan Butler.
Don't get any better than this performance and the artists performing it.
Her voice is so beautiful and pure. Love Rachelle Ferrel.
Mzzz Rachelle Ferrel's Voice, EXTRAORDINARY!!!!! I love this show piece of talents.
The Best and Blessed she is undeniably AWSOME nobody like her and range cannot be duplicated !!! AWSOME Queen ,deserve all the most Grammys huge cash, status the highest. Do it sis 😊❤❤❤
sang the hell out of this song... she did
I just love this black woman blessed angelic instrument. So real. So soulful.
Rachelle Ferrell, Godspeed Blessings to you Always.
Her voice is mellifluous and remarkably beautiful. ❤️
This is just ...so immaculate...and so deep...
Will never forget when I saw them both at Club Bene in Sayreville, NJ decades ago. Went backstage and met them both. George was such a teddy bear. Told him my sister was a keyboardist too; he told me to send him her tape. I miss him so very much! He is and will always be my all time favorite musician; the baddest keyboardist EVER! And Miss Ferrell...what is there to say about her that her voice will not tell you! AWESOME! She's his goddaughter...I think that's what she told me when I saw her. Don't get me started on the so called artists today, who have all the fame and money and none of the talent!
Yup!p
@@lywnnjohnson6130 WOW! Thanks for your reply! As you can see, I posted this 4 years ago. When George died, I cried like he was a family member! The greatest!! Sorely missed!
Ol George. God must be Funkin up there!! And Johnathan Butler is GROOVIN too!! Rachelle Ferrel is the Female version of Al Jarreau. Not that she is not as talented, but since the 50's skatting wasn't part of OUR modern music, BUT she brought that art form to a whole new dimension. Beautiful. Anyone that has never been to the Jazz, or rather Music Mecca, you need to go one time in their live to Montreux. Living in Germany makes things a bit easier, but it is worth the expense. Music is EVERYWHERE to see and hear. Famous people are all around you. I was at the Jam Session and was talking to Joe Sample, and Herbie Hankock was 2 FEET away!! That was CRAZY!! And the after show Jam Session is the SHIT!! They be tearin it up. Thanks for uploading this tasty tidbit. Peace
