As alternative race, the Custom Lineage from Tasha's fix the mutated human: Night Vision, custom appearance and extra feat at lv 1. That first feat can be choosed from Medium Armor Master, War Caster, GWM, or Magic Initiate (Wizard for Shield or Mage Armor as Quen Sign, or Warlock for Eldritch Blast as Aard). As always, your build is iron solid! Thanks for your fantastic work!
Might be a bit redundant in terms of climbing and swimming speed but the Mariner fighting style from fighter stacks with the Defense fighting style. So you effectively get at +2 to your AC while wearing medium armor. If not Super Technique also works, especially with the general combat prowess of witchers.
Cavalier doesn't fit Geralt at all. He fought from horseback like once (I think) throughout all the books, can fight from horseback in only one out of three games, and even that is purely optional. Hunter Ranger and Eldritch Knight Fighter seem like the most lore-accurate way of recreating Geralt in D&D without going into homebrew.
I've actually started a new character that goes downnthe Witcher route myself. But I've gone a very different route. First up, I've gone Custome Lineage. Part of the Mutations Witchers gonthrough gives them Dsrkvision, and i still get a feat, so i went Mobile. My background is Ruined, to simulate the fall of Witchers, and inchose Tough from that. Im then going the Eldritch Knight/Bladesinger Route, so a Dex build. Scimitars are my weapons of choice, going more a School ofnthe Manticore path than Geralt himself, as School ofnthe Wolf. My firet three ASI options all go to feats, taking Fae Touched first. Misty Step, though usefulness, is second tkngetting Hunters Mark tonsinulate a Witcher's Blade Oils. Next, i get Alert, and fibally, Fighting Initiate to get a second Fighting Style. I chose Defense at level 1, so Dueling at this point. Bladwsjnger goes as far as the sweet Extra Attack they get, and Jeremy Crawford confirmed that using a Cantrip in place of an attack counts as the prerequisite for Eldritch Knight's War Magic feature for a third attack as a bonus action.
I would love to see a build with 2 levels in Artificer to get the Repeating Shot Infusion, and the rest in Bladesinger Wizard. Why? I want to see a John Wick Wizard. Normally the Hand crossbow, even if you have the Crossbow expert feat still needs a free hand to load the crossbow because it still has the Ammunition property. This means it doesn't work with Bladesong. The Repeating Shot Infusion does away with both the loading and ammunition properties. Fun Fact, Spirit Shroud not only adds damage to Spells and Melee attacks but also Ranged Weapon attacks, but only within 10 feet, thus you need Crossbow Expert so you dont have disadvantage on ranged attacks within 5 feet. Luckily this also applies to spell attacks, so you could also use Scorching Ray... The only problem I see is needing 2 feats(Crossbow Expert and Sharpshooter), plus the Archery Fighting style or something similar. Both Variant Human and Custom Lineage only add one free feat. You would also need Proficiency with hand crossbows, which would be easy if you took Shadar-Kai or Eladrin, but those don`t give feats.... However if you did manage to get all three on a Bladesinger, you could have three attacks, all with added damage from both Spirit Shroud AND Sharpshooter, or you could get 2 attacks and Blade Ward for resistance to Slashing, Piercing and Bludgeoning damage. Or you could still do melee with a Rapier with added damage from Booming Blade and Spirit Shroud. Either way you are still a Wizard with the best spell list in the game. I`m thinking a level of Fighter for the Weapon Proficieny and Fighting style, but then you delay spell progression for three levels... Grrr. I don`t quite know how to solve this... Any ideas?
Subbed for the nat 20s. Lol, all jokes aside i subbed because this is exactly the video i was looking for and it was very well presented. Though it wouldve been a nice tough to see the spells on tue screen as you were talking about them. Tap on a clip to paste it in the text box. Thanks again! Edit: whoops lol!
And when you do, could you possibly ignore any cleric stuff. Yeah, I know he was a priest (for a fake denomination, sadly) and he didn't get any healing powers (unless they went back and effed him up more). You can be religious without being a cleric. Lore Bard is my choice for base class and the teleport spells. (Yes, Kurt would be casting spells since, for most of his career, bamfing tires him out) but hey, that's just my version. I also used custom lineage for the ancestry. Not only does it give you the Misty Step spell thru the fey touched feat, but as a half-changling, half tiefling (Azazel is not a demon!), Kurt doesn't fit in the box. Look at blink and later steel wind strike to do his teleport attack (like in X2)
loved the video and i just watched your gojo video i didn't think it was possible to make him in dnd and now i'm mega curious to see of ryomen sukuna is possible too. =3
The only thing i have against this is that Geralt never really fights on horse back Roach is his form of transportation he always gets off of Roach when fighting
Great video, this is very similar to one of my PC character I will send him for some inspiration for the future. Would you consider making similar builds for DC20? Thanks, and again great job.
Tbh, I think Bloodhunter with the Order of the Mutant subclass fits better to Geralt. I mean, it is literally just a Witcher but in dnd. However, I like the idea with the Aberrant Dragonmark feat, that way you can get some of Geralts signs without having to multiclass.
Great build. I definitely agree with Ranger as the base and I think just about any Ranger subclass would have worked. I'm not sure I agree with some of the decisions in Fighter. Instead of Dueling, I think I would have gone with Interception or Blind Fighting. I think Samurai or Eldritch Knight would have been better than Cavalry. I think you might also have
@@ericpeterson8732 I did it in 2e. Immortals can temporarily die from normal means but then wake up a number of hours equal to their - hitpoints then wake back up. Dragons breath and other super magical stuff like spells etc would kill them. If they didn't lose their heads the quickening would be lost
I thought you did this one already. Nice build, but I would have gone Samurai or Battlemaster instead of Cavalier. Champion works, too. Geralt is not a warder or a defender. He protects by attacking the enemy, not shielding his allies. He already has a mark from Ranger. Samurai is what I would have done.
I feel like you should of just focused on dex instead of str. Ik Gerelt is actually strong but just focusing dex would of been better and then u could of also had a 16 wis

I mean Matt Mercer made bloodhunter based on Geralt and witchers in general. So I mean its got to be bloodhunter mutant.
Not every DM allows Blood Hunter though. Mine isn't, so I've had to get creative on building a Witcher.
Fair enough, also bloodhunters are EXTREMELY fragile. The one playing in my game almost died already...
@@jeffmiller3162 they sound pretty cool though. So that is the base class blood hunter? Its not a subclass of anything?

I assumed you’d get the Rune Carver background so you could get the Rune Shaper feat as I briefed several runes could replace some of the sigils.

What is the background
Caviler fighters are much more the defender class rather than the horseback class
Caviler is mostly just defensive but that also allows you to defend your horse.
