It's kinda sad to see that Megatron wanted justice for the lower class and ended up becoming the very thing he was fighting against, and now he's trying to redeem himself as best as he can
That was the premise of the More Than Meets The Eye comic; wars over, Megatron realizes he’s in the wrong, and uses a legal loophole to go on a religious crusade to literally find god as a punishment. Great development and wrap up for the character. And great final line by him
So, seeing how both Silver Surfer and Megatron appeared in this season of Death Battle, does this mean that we'll finally see a Galactus vs. Unicron fight?
If we're lucky that long-awaited 3D DB will be the season finale. And yes Ben confirmed during Red and Charizard/Mega Charizard X vs. Tai and Agumon/Greymon/WarGreymon that Galactus vs. Unicron is going to be a future episode and that when it happens the battle between the Planet-Eaters will be a 3D fight.
Possible but knowing Death Battle, absolutely unlikely. They think a fight between a dead wrestler and a fruit drink mascot is more important then this matchup.
As hyped as it is, I'm kinda hoping for more grounded fights lately. We've had so many galaxy to universal scale matchups this season that their novelty is wearing a tad thin.
Technically, Megatron’s realization that changing the system peacefully was flawed happened when a bar fight broke out because Rung accidentally bumped into someone while leaning over the counter for a curly straw. That’s right, the longest, bloodiest war in the universe happened because of a STRAW.
Since they’re using his IDW backstory, that means they’re likely using a composite of all his G1 appearances. Which means they’ll be taking his IDW feats and abilities into account, meaning this will be a FAR closer battle than a lot of people think.
Well, Freeza at this point is far far stronger than Goku during the Tournament of Power which features Goku surviving and even overpowering 2 black holes (spirit bomb implosion and the Universe 2 fanboy attack).
It would be far closer if they were only counting friezas z feats but due to his golden and black forms i dont think there is any chance of megatron winning, which is sad, wish he was paired against someone closer to his abilities.

Megatron as an Autobot in the IDW comics was pretty cool. There were no Autobot or Decepticon factions during that political upheaval. The symbol used by the Autobots was originally used by law enforcement. Those that joined Optimus adopted it as their faction symbol.

C: "Let me know if this is too spicy!" Proceeds to beat Unicron over the head with the star she casually moves across the sky with a thought. And yes I know Unicron once ate the entire multiverse, which obviously includes stars, but we've never actually _seen_ him do it so I'm calling his bluff until proven otherwise. Plus this is funnier.
Well, I have a strong feeling as to where the fight's climax is gonna be. Frieza is stuck in the panic bubble with Megatron till one kills the other. I'm honestly interested in the size comparison and how it's conveyed for these two to fight each other. Cause Megatron is like 7 times taller than Frieza, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel this has to be the biggest size difference in DB. So, I'm interested in how that will play into the fight
If they still stand by Godzilla being composited from everything then he towers over Gamera like nothing Greymon has varied in size in the anime and movies but he gets pretty big and game Charizard is only 5’7

Its amazing how its been 5 years since the last transformers episode. Knowing devilartemis is gonna animate in this fight in blender I know its gonna be a banger.
I'm torn on this one. I feel like taking things like gold and black form into account, Frieza "should" win, but given that when you think about it, Megatron can hold his own with Prime, and that's while Prime has the Matrix boosting himself up. Side note, given Megatron is a large robot, I really want Frieza to say something to the effect of having to hit Megs "really really hard".
Had no idea Megatron started as a freedom fighter. It never came up in the Transformers media I consumed over the years, but sheds a lot of light on the conflict.
I think they added that in to try and give him motives beyond ‘I’m evil and want to conquer and destroy everything.’ It was an interesting development, but now I’m worried it’s working it’s way into every new show and story involving Megatron.
Megatron doesn’t have the panic bubble as a natural ability, he stole Trailbreaker’s hand after he died. Still, it will make the fight more interesting.
he doesn't naturally have the flash-step function and the back-blast boosting he's sometimes shown to do, and he does have the singularity attack and the blackhole collapsing bullet (which are also used in the same situation as the panic bubble), but it isn't like DB to overlook something that important. they ain't telling us all here...

Megatron and optimus were on the same page, both of them wanted to rid the corruption from cybertron. They divided the moment megatron chose to do it with voilence, and optimus being deemed worthy of becoming a prime by choosing to do it with diplomacy

@killjoy362 Even if that does end up being the case, it doesn't matter. The fight animations are just for fun and often depict match-ups as closer than they actually are for the sake of entertainment.
As a huge transformers fan, I am immensely excited for Megatron vs. Frieza. I've never watched DB, but I have seen clips and discussions about him and I can tell this will be an entertaining fight. I can't wait.

To answer Boomsticks question, technically before Megatrons revolution, there weren't Autobots and Decepticons in the way we know them in general if even (not to mention there's several lores aside from the Aligned one, it's complicated)
The way it boiled down, IIRC, it initially just referred to what class they came from, with Decepticons being an enslaved working class fighting for their rights, and the Autobots being white collar folks who were deeply sympathetic and trying to change things from within their privleged positions. But after Megatron went full scorched earth, the Cons wanted the oppressive structure torn down NOW through whatever means they needed, and Autobots were those who wanted to do it by the book, which would take time but ensure no one could ever just decide to do it all again in the long-term.
Here’s a fun idea! Can we include Megatron’s toys as weapons for the fight?! Like he can turn into a Walter P38 pistol, but other toys had him turn into a jet or a WFC-E38 Voyager Tank OR he can ride a Neutro-Fusion tank! Can he still access Galvatron with his spark transfer?

Okay from the calc here Megs isn’t winning speed, but I don’t remember how the cybertron explosion matches Frieza blowing up Vegeta (granted that was first form Frieza).
I mean in frieza's run down they haven't got to stuff from super. So I'm guessing they're starting with the lower feats and working there way up especially since it seems they're using IDW comics.
Ultra Ego Vegeta was put a 265.800 times universal in Thor vs Vegeta, and Frieza one shot both him and Ultra Instinct Goku in his latest appearance. So they'll most likely put him around that power. Then again, this is just the first half of the analysis so who knows what else they'll give or decide not to give to both

Megatron is a guy with good intentions turned evil. He is a hero of his own story and an anti-hero in Cybertron's history. Pretty compelling character, which makes it more of a shame that his character was butchered in Michael Bay's movies.
Wh... what? Everyone has good intentions, everyone is the hero of their story. Unless you're a cartoonishly evil guy like Robbie Rotten you're not waking up in the morning going "Ahhhh, time to be evil". Also what does Bays movies have to do with anything. Any one iteration of Megatron doesn't have anything to do with another.
When he improved upon his fathers empire. When he strengthened the Frieza force. When he destroyed planet Vegeta. Almost everything is done with good intentions. The question you should ask is: "good for who?" Pure evil is subjective you know, because as I said: everyone is the hero of their story. By extention we are the "good" party in our story. There are characters like Eggman and Magneto who are evil by their own definition, but they are few and far between, and Frieza ain't one of them.

The origin story they mentioned is only one of multiple, by the way, it's the one from the first run of IDW Transformers comics (from 2007 to 2018). They haven't even mentioned that his fusion cannon is powered by black holes or the sheer concept of ALTERNITY
I think Megatron's got this. Hear me out in the idw comics he can use antimater' has infinite energy' manipulate energy can use spacebriges inside himself to movie across the universe in an instant' black holes' he killed the dicepitagod and injured the Void two entities powered by the dead universe. Survived a point blank shot from Shockwave who got a hold of the Transfromers verson of the infinty Stones and was erasing not only space and time but also all concepts like death' and I think He also wanted create one universe by merging the entire Transformers multiverse which was said by Vector Prime himself was in the millions. He survived head shots' getting ripped in half and had his head split open down to his chest. And then he merged with a god beast called Hytherion which was larger than earth and was known to eat whole timelines whole. Time. Lines. And when he did he became a celestial being called an Alternity which many cybertronians would evolve into hundreds millions of years later said Alternity can worp reality'make auto-avatars in his likeness' manipulate inertia itself' create gravital blades swords that not only slash apart space and time they can also cut open dimensions and create a beam attack that bathes the target in exotic particles. A sensor that boost perceptual strength in higher dimensons. He created six Hytherions to wipe out multiple galaxies. A Tesseractal sword made from the fang of the Hytherion it can slash far away enemies' ignoring their spatial distance and so on. And that's just his avatar from' if you don't believe me look up vs battle Megatron IDW and Megatron Alternity.
Seems like we're gonna have a very epic battle between two powerful galactic emperors! I hope in the future, we may see something like: Molecule Man vs Dr Manhattan (Masters of Matter) Galactus vs Solaris (Devourers of Worlds) All For One vs King Piccolo (Demon Kings)
He appears to be a combination of elements from all stories, including IDW, which had him reform as an Autobot. Not to mention the current series has him as a good guy.
I was thinking the other week if they put Megatron on he'd probably fight some Gundam or Power Rangers villian, but they actually pinned him up against Frieza.
Since Megatron's energy isn't ki I guess that gives him some advantage, right? They said in Frieza's breakdown that he can block ki energy blasts and sense ki energy. Would he be able to block Megatons energy blast and/or able to sense him? They brought up ki like 5 times, so I feel like it's going to be part of the fight.
The Z Fighters and Cell couldn't sense the Androids because they didn't use ki, so I'm willing to bet that Frieza won't be able to sense Megatron's presence either.
He learned to sense ki though. Also, yes. Ki energy as it is in DBZ is just a manifestation of energy in general. They could power a city or whatever if hooked up properly. Energy cannons are the same. @@anarchytype2200
Freeza can, at least, manipulate raw destruction energy. This is essentially *negative* energy, as it wipes out matter without a trace. I think Freezy-Pops can handle a black hole.
To repeat what I said over on the Frieza preview; while I am rooting for Megatron, my one real wish for this episode is that Megatron gets enough material that he doesn't get stomped. I understand that this match-up's result can change wildly depending on what version of G1 Megatron is used (cartoon, IDW, manga, & possibly others) and what situational powers he gets from that iteration. I also know there are people who wanted this match-up believing it's an easy Frieza win. So while I won't ask Megs get every situational power until he's a multi-universal Dragon Ball stomper, I just hope he gets enough to not give Freiza that easy win. While I obviously want Megatron to win, I can accept a loss if he's well-stated enough to have stood a chance. Otherwise I...kind question what the point of the match-up is when the characters don't seem very similar. (I know there's also people concerned about Dragon Ball's losing streak; but when they had a 5-win streak lasting near 5 & a half seasons, I don't think Freiza deserves to have Megs fed to him just to get DB a win.)
Megatron IS a universe buster in IDW... this is IDW/G1 Megs... This means he scales to someone who killed a god in its own universe who couldn't die in his own universe in one shot... Megatron also beat the DeceptiGod.

So this is interesting. In Optimus' episode, they had a focus on the G1 cartoon with other G1 canon information just being supportive evidence. This time, Megatron is mainly the G1 IDW version using the other G1 incarnations as supportive data like the cartoon weapons and explosion feat. We know this because the background they went with for Optimus was the G1 backstory, and this is the IDW Backstory. Also, IDW Prime has way higher scaling than what they gave in his episode, which means they were only getting the supportive data that matched the best with the cartoon's canon. The Unicron feat from the marvel comics was probably given because the cartoon matrix killed Unicron in the cartoon movie. So this means that IDW's higher scaling will be acknowledged this time. Depending on where they put Frieza, Megs might have this.
I'm just curious to see how the size issue will be solved in Death Battle Since, you know, Frieza's the size of a somewhat short person, while Megatron is a giant robot
Size shifting. It’s how G1 Megatron is able to transform into a (admittedly still too big for a human) handgun and be wielded by others. In the IDW comics he shrunk himself down to the size of Rewind to help save the Lost Light and Rewind is at most 10ft tall I think.

Freeza survived and even manipulated Destroyer Ki which canonically destroys souls *and* destroys targets across infinite timelines according to DBS. Does that scale to sustained exposure to Antimatter?
@@CasualFox12495 *possibly* but frieza can't generate a hakai under his own power last I checked. antimatter works a bit differently in that it ignores durability of an object to destroy it directly, and annihilate in a tremendous amount of energy, only objects iirc that don't get deleted by antimatter are black holes, whereas if you are powerful enough, you can resist a hakai
@@CasualFox12495His most recent power up probably makes it irrelevant, he only held off the destruction energy meant to assassinate him, not when Toppo used it in the Tournament of Power(it didn't annihilate him, but he clearly wasn't manipulating it, much less holding it back).
I think Frieza is gonna win because he’s broken, but I just hope more people discover the More Than Meets The Eye comic because of it. It’s like what Deep Space 9 was for Star Trek; digging into the connotations that exist in the settings beyond the initial premise. Like how transformers are universally shoot-on-site for most spacefaring races. They’ve got so many civilization’s blood on their hands it’s like if the Reapers had the personalities of a 90s sitcom.
@@BigJohn303 I didn't have the opportunity to read the transformers comics (especially the IDW ones) so I don't know much about that version, but even with that I don't see a way for Megatron to be able to do something against Frieza (knowing how strong he is ) and look that Megatron is one of my favorite Transformers characters/villains

Megatron in 2005 idw continuity joined the autobots after being moved by goldbugs sacrifice. This turn in faction resulted in shockwave going back to remembering who he was pre empurata and shadowplay.
this fight makes the 11th fight for this season of DeathBattle if their going to have 16 episodes for this one another five episodes are left the last fight will be on November 12th whoever they choose for the last fight is what I’m looking forward to after this fight I’m looking forward to episode 12

His original toy bio said that he can, and the comics were analyzed in Optimus’ episode, so it’s safe to say that it will be included in the full episode.
He does have anti-matter powers in the IDW comics and they are absurdly powerful to give an example of how powerful after his turn to good and joined the Autobots he got into a fight with a powered-up version of his Galvatron form from an alternate timeline where he was still an evil tyrant and he kicked Galvatron's metallic Decpticon ass with his anti-matter powers.
I don't think antimatter will work on frieza. Considering that hakai and antimatter work pretty damn similarly and frieza not only survived hakai but straight up controlled it.
Megatron was right. The council of primes went so far as to try to discredit him by calling him decepticon. But instead in Megatrons own words. We wear it as a badge of honor, for if speaking the truth is deception then we are gladly guilty.
Dude have you even seen Friezza? He has destroyed Planets while sipping his drinks! And Man don't bring Golden Frieza here, he was in that form fighting in Battle of Universes, fighting aginst Jiren in that form! The Guy who pushed Goku to Ultra Instinct, the FCKIN Ultra Instinct! Those Battle of Universes power feats where like so high that the entire Autobot & Decpticons could be beaten 10x brought back to life, and again bashed 10x without a single sweat yep You read it right, thats the power of tournament for you where Goku found his Ultra Instinct!

IDW comics turned a mustache-twirling psychopath like Megatron into a sympathetic and understandable villain. You almost feel bad for him given what he went through. And not only that, they gave him a literal redemption arc
Didn't realize megatron had that much potential speed or toughness. But to be fair, while he did survive that blast it took him a long time to fully recover from it.
I feel that you guys are a little hung up on Transformers originally being merchandise-driven. The question of 'where the Autobots the villains' is a complex one; a lot of the continuities that go with the idea of Megatron as starting out as a revolutionary that becomes worse than anything before him tend to depict Autobot as just being the general term for a Cybertronian, while others make them a specific faction; the latter is the one where the Autobots are explicitly heroic. The IDW comics make it a bit complicated because they go a bit back and forth between the Autobot insignia being used by a wide number of people on Cybertron, though ultimately they lean hardest towards the Autobots SPECIFICALLY being those who followed Optimus and fought against Decepticon tyranny. Don't be TOO quick to assume Megatron stayed in the right; while he did opposed the caste system, his political platform was explicitly based on the idea of Trransformers being inherently superior to all other forms of life, and that it was their right as a superior species (as the Decepticons see it) to kill everyone else and take their resources, and many Decepticons joined the cause SPECIFIACLLY because they hate organic life and like the excuse to engage in mass genocide. There's a reason I just that those who refused to join either side (whether to attack other forms of life, or to SAVE those same aliens from the first group) is 'Too racist to be an Autobot, not racist enough to be a Decepticon'. They waffled a bit back and forth on Optimus' position but ultimately he himself was also a revolutionary that accepted a position in the hopes he could enact change from the inside, only to be worn down by the futility of it, and ultimately came to be inspired by Megatron's initial more peaceful writing, which led the way towards Optimus becoming the paragon ideal that defined the IDEA of a Prime being a position of honor and integrity, even as Megatron himself sank into genuine monstrosity and violence for its own sake.
In response to the title. Yes and know. He has been known to work together with prime to stop something or someone that proved to be a threat to both autobots and deceptions. He's like Erin from AOT. Willing to while out everyone and their mother if he feels they are a threat to his own vision of how Cybertron should be, but still has at least some compassion for those who are loyal to him.

Now Optimus prime was able to defeat Nova Prime who had the power of the Dead Universe and the The Heart of Darkness, keep in mind that Nova Prime whit just no Heart of Darkness can merge all of creation, which is the entirety of the Transformers multiverse or omniverse including there concepts whit in them. Keep in mind when Optimus prime fought him had the power of the dead universe which was a building block universe for any multiverse because again the Transformers multiverse consists whit multiple universes whit those universes having spilntered timelines attached to them so essentially a Multiverse. But even if we are not using that here's something more! The Deceptigod, that Megatron defeated, is responsible for the creation of the Heart of Darkness, which is the Dark counterpart of the Matrix of Leadership, the device that Optimus Prime uses to defeat Unicron. You know? The guy who can destroy the infinite Transformers multiverse by just existing! Say those words again, go on I dare you...
So I guess Megatron is getting IDW feats because there were scans from the IDW comic, right? Optimus got IDW scaling. Hopefully Megatron does too, because that's the only way he keeps up in this fight and possibly wins.

And yes Ben confirmed during Red and Charizard/Mega Charizard X vs. Tai and Agumon/Greymon/WarGreymon that Galactus vs. Unicron is going to be a future episode and that when it happens the battle between the Planet-Eaters will be a 3D fight.

We've had so many galaxy to universal scale matchups this season that their novelty is wearing a tad thin.

Well, Freeza at this point is far far stronger than Goku during the Tournament of Power which features Goku surviving and even overpowering 2 black holes (spirit bomb implosion and the Universe 2 fanboy attack).
It would be far closer if they were only counting friezas z feats but due to his golden and black forms i dont think there is any chance of megatron winning, which is sad, wish he was paired against someone closer to his abilities.

Megatron as an Autobot in the IDW comics was pretty cool.
There were no Autobot or Decepticon factions during that political upheaval. The symbol used by the Autobots was originally used by law enforcement. Those that joined Optimus adopted it as their faction symbol.

Well, I have a strong feeling as to where the fight's climax is gonna be. Frieza is stuck in the panic bubble with Megatron till one kills the other. I'm honestly interested in the size comparison and how it's conveyed for these two to fight each other. Cause Megatron is like 7 times taller than Frieza, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel this has to be the biggest size difference in DB. So, I'm interested in how that will play into the fight
The biggest size difference is a different Transformers match, when Starscream fought Rainbow Dash all the way back in S1.

I'm torn on this one. I feel like taking things like gold and black form into account, Frieza "should" win, but given that when you think about it, Megatron can hold his own with Prime, and that's while Prime has the Matrix boosting himself up.
Side note, given Megatron is a large robot, I really want Frieza to say something to the effect of having to hit Megs "really really hard".

Had no idea Megatron started as a freedom fighter. It never came up in the Transformers media I consumed over the years, but sheds a lot of light on the conflict.

Relatively recent update to his backstory, now he's a freedom fighter who becomes the very thing he hoped to destroy.
I think they added that in to try and give him motives beyond ‘I’m evil and want to conquer and destroy everything.’ It was an interesting development, but now I’m worried it’s working it’s way into every new show and story involving Megatron.
He was originally simply a racist for like, decades.
There are many different interpretations, thats just one.
Megatron doesn’t have the panic bubble as a natural ability, he stole Trailbreaker’s hand after he died. Still, it will make the fight more interesting.

As a huge transformers fan, I am immensely excited for Megatron vs. Frieza. I've never watched DB, but I have seen clips and discussions about him and I can tell this will be an entertaining fight. I can't wait.

To answer Boomsticks question, technically before Megatrons revolution, there weren't Autobots and Decepticons in the way we know them in general if even (not to mention there's several lores aside from the Aligned one, it's complicated)
The way it boiled down, IIRC, it initially just referred to what class they came from, with Decepticons being an enslaved working class fighting for their rights, and the Autobots being white collar folks who were deeply sympathetic and trying to change things from within their privleged positions.
But after Megatron went full scorched earth, the Cons wanted the oppressive structure torn down NOW through whatever means they needed, and Autobots were those who wanted to do it by the book, which would take time but ensure no one could ever just decide to do it all again in the long-term.
Gotta love how the characters and their projectiles can travel faster than light, but only when off screen.
StarWars is the same way with their ship's firepower. Only powerful off screen or in novels. Onscreen it's always a 'hand grenade' explosion.

Okay from the calc here Megs isn’t winning speed, but I don’t remember how the cybertron explosion matches Frieza blowing up Vegeta (granted that was first form Frieza).
I mean in frieza's run down they haven't got to stuff from super. So I'm guessing they're starting with the lower feats and working there way up especially since it seems they're using IDW comics.
Ultra Ego Vegeta was put a 265.800 times universal in Thor vs Vegeta, and Frieza one shot both him and Ultra Instinct Goku in his latest appearance. So they'll most likely put him around that power. Then again, this is just the first half of the analysis so who knows what else they'll give or decide not to give to both

Megatron is a guy with good intentions turned evil. He is a hero of his own story and an anti-hero in Cybertron's history. Pretty compelling character, which makes it more of a shame that his character was butchered in Michael Bay's movies.

There are characters like Eggman and Magneto who are evil by their own definition, but they are few and far between, and Frieza ain't one of them.

The origin story they mentioned is only one of multiple, by the way, it's the one from the first run of IDW Transformers comics (from 2007 to 2018). They haven't even mentioned that his fusion cannon is powered by black holes or the sheer concept of ALTERNITY

Hear me out in the idw comics he can use antimater' has infinite energy' manipulate energy can use spacebriges inside himself to movie across the universe in an instant' black holes' he killed the dicepitagod and injured the Void two entities powered by the dead universe. Survived a point blank shot from Shockwave who got a hold of the Transfromers verson of the infinty Stones and was erasing not only space and time but also all concepts like death' and I think He also wanted create one universe by merging the entire Transformers multiverse which was said by Vector Prime himself was in the millions. He survived head shots' getting ripped in half and had his head split open down to his chest. And then he merged with a god beast called Hytherion which was larger than earth and was known to eat whole timelines whole. Time. Lines. And when he did he became a celestial being called an Alternity which many cybertronians would evolve into hundreds millions of years later said Alternity can worp reality'make auto-avatars in his likeness' manipulate inertia itself' create gravital blades swords that not only slash apart space and time they can also cut open dimensions and create a beam attack that bathes the target in exotic particles. A sensor that boost perceptual strength in higher dimensons. He created six Hytherions to wipe out multiple galaxies. A Tesseractal sword made from the fang of the Hytherion it can slash far away enemies' ignoring their spatial distance and so on. And that's just his avatar from' if you don't believe me look up vs battle Megatron IDW and Megatron Alternity.

Since Megatron's energy isn't ki I guess that gives him some advantage, right? They said in Frieza's breakdown that he can block ki energy blasts and sense ki energy. Would he be able to block Megatons energy blast and/or able to sense him? They brought up ki like 5 times, so I feel like it's going to be part of the fight.
Dont think it would make a difference. DBZ characters sense and tank non ki-based attacks and explosions often.
He could never sense ki energy, that was the entire reason he used a scouter to begin with.
The Z Fighters and Cell couldn't sense the Androids because they didn't use ki, so I'm willing to bet that Frieza won't be able to sense Megatron's presence either.
Also blaster fire can't be sensed. It's exactly why Sorbet was able to incapacitate Goku once he let his guard down.
He learned to sense ki though. Also, yes. Ki energy as it is in DBZ is just a manifestation of energy in general. They could power a city or whatever if hooked up properly. Energy cannons are the same. @@anarchytype2200

Freeza can, at least, manipulate raw destruction energy. This is essentially *negative* energy, as it wipes out matter without a trace. I think Freezy-Pops can handle a black hole.

To repeat what I said over on the Frieza preview; while I am rooting for Megatron, my one real wish for this episode is that Megatron gets enough material that he doesn't get stomped. I understand that this match-up's result can change wildly depending on what version of G1 Megatron is used (cartoon, IDW, manga, & possibly others) and what situational powers he gets from that iteration.
I also know there are people who wanted this match-up believing it's an easy Frieza win. So while I won't ask Megs get every situational power until he's a multi-universal Dragon Ball stomper, I just hope he gets enough to not give Freiza that easy win. While I obviously want Megatron to win, I can accept a loss if he's well-stated enough to have stood a chance. Otherwise I...kind question what the point of the match-up is when the characters don't seem very similar.
(I know there's also people concerned about Dragon Ball's losing streak; but when they had a 5-win streak lasting near 5 & a half seasons, I don't think Freiza deserves to have Megs fed to him just to get DB a win.)

So this is interesting. In Optimus' episode, they had a focus on the G1 cartoon with other G1 canon information just being supportive evidence.
This time, Megatron is mainly the G1 IDW version using the other G1 incarnations as supportive data like the cartoon weapons and explosion feat.
We know this because the background they went with for Optimus was the G1 backstory, and this is the IDW Backstory. Also, IDW Prime has way higher scaling than what they gave in his episode, which means they were only getting the supportive data that matched the best with the cartoon's canon. The Unicron feat from the marvel comics was probably given because the cartoon matrix killed Unicron in the cartoon movie.
So this means that IDW's higher scaling will be acknowledged this time. Depending on where they put Frieza, Megs might have this.

Size shifting. It’s how G1 Megatron is able to transform into a (admittedly still too big for a human) handgun and be wielded by others. In the IDW comics he shrunk himself down to the size of Rewind to help save the Lost Light and Rewind is at most 10ft tall I think.

@@CasualFox12495 *possibly* but frieza can't generate a hakai under his own power last I checked. antimatter works a bit differently in that it ignores durability of an object to destroy it directly, and annihilate in a tremendous amount of energy, only objects iirc that don't get deleted by antimatter are black holes, whereas if you are powerful enough, you can resist a hakai

It’s like what Deep Space 9 was for Star Trek; digging into the connotations that exist in the settings beyond the initial premise.
Like how transformers are universally shoot-on-site for most spacefaring races. They’ve got so many civilization’s blood on their hands it’s like if the Reapers had the personalities of a 90s sitcom.

@@BigJohn303 I didn't have the opportunity to read the transformers comics (especially the IDW ones) so I don't know much about that version, but even with that I don't see a way for Megatron to be able to do something against Frieza (knowing how strong he is ) and look that Megatron is one of my favorite Transformers characters/villains

Megatron in 2005 idw continuity joined the autobots after being moved by goldbugs sacrifice. This turn in faction resulted in shockwave going back to remembering who he was pre empurata and shadowplay.

I also remember hearing that Megatron has antimatter powers in the comics. I don’t know if that’s Canon or not.
His original toy bio said that he can, and the comics were analyzed in Optimus’ episode, so it’s safe to say that it will be included in the full episode.
He does have anti-matter powers in the IDW comics and they are absurdly powerful to give an example of how powerful after his turn to good and joined the Autobots he got into a fight with a powered-up version of his Galvatron form from an alternate timeline where he was still an evil tyrant and he kicked Galvatron's metallic Decpticon ass with his anti-matter powers.

I feel that you guys are a little hung up on Transformers originally being merchandise-driven.
The question of 'where the Autobots the villains' is a complex one; a lot of the continuities that go with the idea of Megatron as starting out as a revolutionary that becomes worse than anything before him tend to depict Autobot as just being the general term for a Cybertronian, while others make them a specific faction; the latter is the one where the Autobots are explicitly heroic. The IDW comics make it a bit complicated because they go a bit back and forth between the Autobot insignia being used by a wide number of people on Cybertron, though ultimately they lean hardest towards the Autobots SPECIFICALLY being those who followed Optimus and fought against Decepticon tyranny.
Don't be TOO quick to assume Megatron stayed in the right; while he did opposed the caste system, his political platform was explicitly based on the idea of Trransformers being inherently superior to all other forms of life, and that it was their right as a superior species (as the Decepticons see it) to kill everyone else and take their resources, and many Decepticons joined the cause SPECIFIACLLY because they hate organic life and like the excuse to engage in mass genocide. There's a reason I just that those who refused to join either side (whether to attack other forms of life, or to SAVE those same aliens from the first group) is 'Too racist to be an Autobot, not racist enough to be a Decepticon'.
They waffled a bit back and forth on Optimus' position but ultimately he himself was also a revolutionary that accepted a position in the hopes he could enact change from the inside, only to be worn down by the futility of it, and ultimately came to be inspired by Megatron's initial more peaceful writing, which led the way towards Optimus becoming the paragon ideal that defined the IDEA of a Prime being a position of honor and integrity, even as Megatron himself sank into genuine monstrosity and violence for its own sake.
Who would have thought that Megatron had a sympathetic backstory?

Yes and know. He has been known to work together with prime to stop something or someone that proved to be a threat to both autobots and deceptions.
He's like Erin from AOT. Willing to while out everyone and their mother if he feels they are a threat to his own vision of how Cybertron should be, but still has at least some compassion for those who are loyal to him.

IDW he actually joined the autobots and changed, working to redeem himself and do something good for cybertron till the end of the run.

Now they compared Megatron to Optimus prime which is resanoble and I am doing the same but whit more evidence. Now Optimus prime was able to defeat Nova Prime who had the power of the Dead Universe and the The Heart of Darkness, keep in mind that Nova Prime whit just no Heart of Darkness can merge all of creation, which is the entirety of the Transformers multiverse or omniverse including there concepts whit in them. Keep in mind when Optimus prime fought him had the power of the dead universe which was a building block universe for any multiverse because again the Transformers multiverse consists whit multiple universes whit those universes having spilntered timelines attached to them so essentially a Multiverse.
But even if we are not using that here's something more!
The Deceptigod, that Megatron defeated, is responsible for the creation of the Heart of Darkness, which is the Dark counterpart of the Matrix of Leadership, the device that Optimus Prime uses to defeat Unicron. You know? The guy who can destroy the infinite Transformers multiverse by just existing!

So I guess Megatron is getting IDW feats because there were scans from the IDW comic, right? Optimus got IDW scaling. Hopefully Megatron does too, because that's the only way he keeps up in this fight and possibly wins.
