When DB pair up fights they don't look at that, they go by characters who are similar. It's not about the fights being fair.
For example, Crona has her black goop blood

Lol just because A possesses B's weakness doesn't mean the fight is unfair or uninteresting. The entire point of these fights is how characters' abilities act and counteract one another. By that logic Batman VS CA Superman is an unfair fight in favor of Batman because he has access to kryptonite.
@@aulusagerius8540 No Batman vs Superman was interesting because those two been had a rivalry between each other. There was build up. This one wasn’t interesting because there was NO way for venom to even attempt at winning this.
And by the point of these fights is not how one person counters another. It’s to see who would win in a fight. Hard countering and fighting are two different things.

@@why7450 Crona was deliberately designed to be genderless. In the original Japanese version, they referred to Crona without using any pronouns at all! However, when the manga was translated into English (and subsequently adapted into an anime), they/them pronouns weren't particularly well-known at the time. They didn't want to use it/its pronouns because they felt it might sound too disrespectful, so they settled with he/him pronouns. Also, when they decided on he/him, they didn't actually intend for it to signify Crona as male or masculine, but rather, it was intended to reference mankind/humankind in general. In the same way that sometimes "man" or "men" stands for all of humankind, regardless of sex or gender.
However, much much later, Crona's pronouns in the manga's official English translation got switched to they/them- further cementing the creator's intent for Crona to be non-binary.
Death lookign goofy actually HAS a good reason behind it: its that death wanted to open a school to train meisters, but children were terrified of him and would just run away. So basically he changed his look and demeanor to goofy ones to appeal to children, and he's been using that personnality for so long it takes a LOT for him to be completely serious and scary again.
We see him be serious against Asura but even then he doesn't change his look

He even changed his voice to be goofier to be more appealing. His true voice occasionally slips when he's extremely pissed off (a feat that is surprisingly hard to do) and said voice combined with his old look is pretty much a classic grim reaper.

To be honest at first I thought Venom was going to win. Mostly because I'm not well known with the soul eater lore, but the very first time I heard Corona having sound attacks I knew that Eddie had already lost
Knowing the two characters, I just knew it was going to come down to Venom having no real counter to scream resonance, any character with any type of vulnerability to sound is doomed against Crona, even characters without vulnerabilities take stupid amounts of damage from it
Venom has better feats they just didn't address them

I know! They’re my favorite character in the entire Soul Eater series. However, especially in the manga, they’re the most terrifying character in the whole Soul Eater series to me lol.
Fun fact: death from soul eater had to change his appearance to the iconic goofy looking grim reaper when he founded the dwma because his original appearance terrified every human that he tried to recruit

You know, symbiotes always get some of the coolest moments in this series. Between “Pop goes the weasel,” “Carnage is starving,” and a Nightmare Before Christmas reference, they just always get the best moments.

I agree. It's been decidedly canon for years that the symbiotes' greatest weakness is sound. Crona's primarily ability is a sonic blast that can damage living metal. Definitely one of the most unbalanced Death Battles.
Yeah, because the only way you can actually beat Crona is when it comes to his soul so people like Ghost Rider and Spawn could beat him, so why not have one of those two face Crona??

@@xboxfanboy59 I see I see, but even then he just can't beat Crona, and don't worry I'm not a fan of the character I do like the anime but I was always more of a Marvel person anyways. I just don't know too much about venom, more so about Deadpool, Batman, and Spawn of all peeps. But even then, Venom literally can't beat the kid, he would still attacks from a supernatural sythe, even point blank bullets and stuff, Venom literally has no way of defeating Crona and that's why I don't think he's a good enough match. and it's not just him but pretty much a majority of physical characters who can't really tamper with souls.
The only characters I know who can pretty much defeat him is soul stealers and such. Physical attacks will do nothing to Crona because of the black blood he has which is essentially that Ragnarok character coming from his back.
Venom: Your pronouns are they/them because you are non-binary. Our pronouns are they/them because we are LITERALLY two MFs. WE ARE NOT THE SAME!

Looks to be another example of two characters that look similar enough on paper at first glance to be a "natural" fight, but when broken down to the specifics one character is completely outmatched by the other in every possible category *and* has an attack set that just so happens to prey on the other's weaknesses. Majora's Mask Moon. It's a full moon and obliterates all of Termina when it falls. The Soul Eater Moon is a crescent moon and doesn't have the full mass of a full moon so there is a chance that if it fell there could be survivors.

Since Crona currently has it in-canon DB might go with the full moon feat too. Venom will have to surprise me in power to break through the magic blood or to overpower in other ways.

Ah, but Ragnarok is also like a Symbiote in some ways. Both can create weapons out of their own body, both can act as some sort of armor for their hosts, both have some degree of control over their hosts’ bodies, etc. Ragnorok is basically Corona’s Venom. Plus, Ragnorok and Corona operate under the wavelength of Madness, making it hard to break their minds.

Pitting a sound weak enemy against an enemy who uses sound based attacks primarily. Yeah Crona has this one in the bag. Vemon may have built up a tolerance to sound base attacks but the level that Crona uses means he is doomed. This was way to one sided.

If Venom scales to Spider-Man 2099, who supposedly moved at around Mach 2,000, and Carnage scales to Venom, I don't see how Carnage could have lost to Lucy, who's attacks were never anywhere near that fast. And if we're using scaling, Knull beating the Sentry, who was then beaten by Venom, should give Venom an instant win here. I can imagine lots of these inconsistencies will show up in later Death Battles.

He firsthad to get revived by the Enigma Force(basically, Knull’s arch enemy and equal) and get possessed by it to become a God of Light, get Mjolnir and SilverSurfer’s board, then merge them into a battleaxe, then use it and the Enigma Force to completely destroy all trace of him. He completely loses access to this power afterwards.
He basically got the most temporary of amps in the history of temporary amps. Giving him this is the equivalent of giving Captain America, Ironman, Reech Richards, and Black Panther the full infinity gauntlet, or Batman all the lantern rings(which they clearly shouldn’t have… at all).
Not to mention, the defeat of Knull came WAY after this video’s release.
As for Carnage vs Lucy, teeeeechnically the feat leans a bit more to reactionary speed than travel, but that’s pretty small. And teeeechnically you get MUCH higher speeds than the speed they calced for Lucy there(much closer, and possibly faster than the mach 2000 feat here), but you can still technically scale him to Spiderman, so they still match up.
But regardless, there’s still a f__ck ton of them there, they’re massive, and an AOE nuke attack’ll likely do em in regardless of speed. But that’s just imo

Those feats do seem to be reactionary, rather than travel speed, which is an important distinction, although I think it's arguable in both cases for Venom and Crona that they were never reacting to things that fast. Spider-Man 2099 probably only aimed his hand in the right place, rather than it being relative. Similar case for Crona going up against that fast guy who clearly wasn't going that fast in any of their fights.
I think the main problem either way is Venom being weak to sound, yet somehow faster than sound, meaning he should be able to just avoid the sound all together. It's a strange weakness that shouldn't apply, and from the scaling in the video, might as well not apply.
Another thing I just thought up of is Crona's sonic attacks spreading all around the Soul Eater moon somehow being 275 decibels, which doesn't make sense, since the Tsar Bomba, which was 224 decibels, made a shockwave that went around the Earth 3 times from what I recall. So I don't know how they're calculating that, or what they mean by Crona's sound wave spreading.
Overall, I think it's just high tier scaling that's unreliable, and inaccurate to how powerful the characters actually are. I can accept Crona winning, but these numbers all seem ridiculous, and out of context.

Not really, cause it wouldn't make sense for them to not use this level of speed in their fights(where they were seriously trying to take down/kill their opponent). Otherwise, for BlackStar, Crona would just never be able to hit him cause he'd run circles around him and evade every attack, against an opponent of such unbelievable speeds, similar levels of speed are still *actively* required(basically, you wouldn't get hit by a bullet if it were moving at a snail's pace right? Even if you were blindsided, it's so slow that you'd be easily able to move out of the way regardless). And similarly, Crona wouldn't be able to block BlackStar's attacks for the same reasons.
Additionally, BlackStar did the mach 9000 and dodging lightspeed lasers feats(note that BlackStar did not just dodge the lasers, but caught 2 of them mid-fire and threw them back with his bare hands... somehow) Pre-End of series before becoming even stronger. The former feat was without stuff like SoulResonance, the latter feat was even done in his base without using his Uncanny Sword form, which _drastically_ improves his strength and speed, to which Crona fights him at his best with both(before he becomes Kishin Crona iirc). So Crona *absolutely* scales to BlackStar's best.
It's comics, that's to be expected, and it sorta supports the notion that it's more on reactionary speed if anything.
Even then, Crona's madness wavelength and shrieks from Ragnarok are not normal sounds. They're made from "soul powers" and stuff, can affect souls, can cover the whole moon in moments, and regularly tags beings who are much faster than sound(even if the characters are able to dodge sunlight, like Justin Law). And as shown in the animation, nothing stops Crona from just creating a massive AOE attack of sound in all directions, as well as just holding him in place with MadBlood to then pump him full of sound waves(17:00). It also means that Venom wouldn't be able to get in close to Crona. So they still very much apply here.
It's not *just* about far they traveled (vibrations always travel vast distances even if they're weak), what mattered here is that they could be _so_ strong at such a distance. Being able to be at their full destructive volume while traversing such a vast distance is ludicrous(cause that's kinda how force works, it gets weaker the farther they are from the point of origin), so the full force at the epicenter should be incredibly potent by comparison.
Exactly like for Venom's sound feat. The gremlins making sounds felt across 10 miles wasn't the impressive part, it was that even after traversing 10 miles, they were still strong enough to shatter glass!

But these characters not doing so regularly implies that's not how fast they'd actually be going, especially for Venom if his weakness is sound, then being faster than sound, making sound easily avoidable.
I haven't watched SoulEater, but I'll believe you immediately on the catching lasers thing. The problem then comes in with these characters ever being touched by anything slower once we use scaling after that point. The two main options are that either these characters are simply entirely unreliable in how strong they are, or the lasers themselves aren't light speed, with the writers not knowing how fast light actually is.
With the mach 9000 feat, we see that line being drawn on that tracking device of some sort, but then we see the visuals, which are clearly much less impressive. The problem then becomes that if you can't trust visuals, we don't even know how fast those characters are in the first place.
I don't doubt at all that Crona's sound attacks could harm, and even kill Venom. I just think that if these characters were of the speeds mentioned in the video, that would negate ever using sound against them.
Given that the SoulEater moon is pretty small, and I don't know if it has an atmosphere or not, it seems likely that any sound waves would be easily able to spread across it because it is simply the nearest object. Also, it seems like the feat itself would be covering it in sound waves, but not actually destroying it, so that massively reduces the impressiveness of the feat itself.

Literally, nothing implies that these characters *don't* do this level of speed regularly lol. Especially in a fight, where, again, they're trying to seriously take down and kill their opponent. It wouldn't make sense. Not to mention, they're both Comic and Manga characters, so all of their movements are via still pictures, so they very much could have just been going at such speeds the whole time.
It also ignores the concepts of "cinematic timing" and "attack potency"
That misses the point of the show, which is to analyze characters at their personal best to see who would win a fight. Taking them at their weakest just doesn't make sense when the point is that we wanna see who wins.
Also, most fictional series' have stuff like that(inconsistencies, plot-induced stupidity, low ends, etc.). Cause a writer obviously isn't concerned with making a character consistent for a Vs-Debate, they just want to write a story with amazing showings sometimes cause those are fun. Low-ends don't mean that the character's high-ends don't exist, and that's just blatantly ignoring massive parts of the character's history for no reason, as well as ignoring the concept of *FICTION* itself.
This isn't a narrative analysis or something, we just wanna have em fight for the sake of it.

That doesn't make sense lol, the fact that the writers had to specify that they were light and lasers mean that they do know what light is, and they're obviously basing it off of our own world(cause... well, there isn't anything else they would go off of lol). It would be incredibly disingenuous to assume that it isn't light speed, when, similarly, *nothing suggests that they aren't light speed either.* If they call it light, then there's nothing else to fall back on for that.
(for SoulEater in particular, they do establish beforehand that the lasers are actual light. As they had to actually counteract these beams using a character's ability of "light refraction" to prevent them from attacking the ship they were on. Pretty straightforward, if he knows that light can refract and reflect, then he should know that light is hella fast).
Visuals don't mean anything mate, looks are just an art style or choice of effort. Regardless of how it looks, you cannot deny that he was very clearly shown moving at those speeds with visual measurements given. The only way he wasn't going at those speeds... is if it were just lying for some reason. If the intention wasn't that he wasn't going at these speeds, it just wouldn't happen to begin with.
By that logic, Goku being able to match and surpass Vegeta's Galick Gun in Saiyan saga(which is stated, and proven to be able to destroy a planet), and Vegeta surviving it is bunk because it's just not visually impressive. It's very disingenuous to the feat to simply base it off of visuals alone.
(Plus, the calc was based on a time frame given by the Anime anyway, we could just apply the Manga, where there isn't a time frame in the first place)

As other people have said, this was very one sided, not only because crona literally has venom's weakness, but also because crona uses magic essentially. Venom doesn't have any defense against the soul based attacks crona could have used.

Honestly if they use the best version of one character then they have to use the best of the other character. The reason for this especially with Comics is the fact that comic book authors are always changing and comics go through reboot every 5 years or so. So typically even though one character will become op due to arcs the next writer will usually just restore the status Qo

1. Venom is tricky, however Venom lacks the ability to keep up a prolonged fight. Crona had to be on guard during the fight in order to know when to switch Mad Blood usage to Defensive (hardening Mad Blood into body armor) and when to switch to Offense (Ragnarok's Sword Forms and Scream Resonance)
2. Crona is much faster (Mach 9,000) than Venom (Venom's fastest Speed record is around Mach 2,000)
3. Venom has shown to have extremely high physical strength, however would not be able to handle Crona's recorded amount of Mad Blood (9,689,078,800,000 Tons of Mad Blood). This amount nullifies Venom's mind control power from being able to take control of Crona's body specifically.
4. Crona (although he may not look like it) has shown to also have extremely high amounts of strength (Crona has literally managed to open the moon's jaw all by himself which means Crona used approximately 10,485.81 Tons of strength to do so)
5. It is explained during Venom's summary explanation before the fight that 2 of the major weaknesses Symbiotes have are extremely high sounds and high temperatures. Half of Crona's arsenal are sound based. This means that Crona can exploit Venom's sound weakness easily. Venom does have some kind of resistance to sound based attacks, however its not that sofisticated to survive Crona. Crona can not one shot Venom with Scream Resonance, but Crona can still kill Venom with a few Sound Attacks as Venom is not completely immune. The amount of dB to break glass with sound is about 100 dB. Crona's combined Sound Attacks and Venom's resistance means Crona would have to reach up to around 244.13 dB of sound waves to kill Venom. Crona's highest known record of Sound Waves is around 275.55 dB if you count the size and shape of the moon (Soul Eater moon). However Crona has actually once shown to have reached over a 1,000x faster than how much he used on Venom
Conclusion:
*Crona is much faster than Venom
*Crona is immune to some of Venom's arsenal while resistant to the rest of his Arsenal
*Crona is immune to Venom's mind control and half of Crona's arsenal is Sound based (one of the 2 major weaknesses of Symbiotes)
*Crona is able to know when to harden his Mad Blood into body armor by observing Venom's attack sequence (Its unknown if Crona himself is observing or if Ragnarok is helping Crona with observation)
*Crona has comparison towards Strength and Speed are much more sophisticated than Venom
*Crona can last much longer in battles than Venom can indicating Crona's Stamina is higher than Venom's Stamina limitation
