The fact you do ALL YOUR OWN WORK, should be commended
thanks Buddy i try my best , thanks for your comment cap.
@fastfed, if he’d had to pay tradesmen to do all the work he’s done on that boat he’d have $200K in it.
@@melodymakermark wow and very true we must learn to do our own work because boating is very expensive cap. Very 👍
Capin...that looks as if a professional did that engine install you did a fantastic job you have my respect..great to see this!! #PROPCLEAR!!
Glad you enjoyed it thanks cap i did my best 😊👍👍
Captain, I APPLAUD YOU! You do all this work by yourself! It's admirable!!! CONGRATS!!
thanks cap i tried my best and thanks you for being part of the channel cap.
What a beautiful sound when you start it. ❤
@frederickfernandez1510 yes cap. I was in love too ❤️
I'd run it for 15 minutes and change the engine oil again . Just to make sure I get out all there left over now garbage ... Another excellent job Captain 👍🎣✌️
Great point! cap thanks for you suggestion and for watching cap
@@OutOnTheReef You spent some big bucks on that motor . A second oil change is a small price to pay . But at least you'll know what you got 👍
@randymiller5008 yes cap. Is worth it plus I have to change the oil again after the first 30 hrs by the book
Are they doing the break in at the factory now?
@@OutOnTheReef Cap antes de cambiar ese aceite verifica si quieren que usas ese aceite específico los primeros 30 horas.
I love the sound of the new engine.
me too it sounds like a V8 engine cap.
You probably save a lot of money on your DIY
@@richardvila3 Captain a little bit over two thousand

@alen2486 thanks cap. It was hard work 🤣👍🛥

wow muchas gracias Roberto aprecio mucho tu comentario y siempre e tratado de compartir lo poco que se acer cap , un abrazo capi 👍😊
Nice Job cap , the 225 Yamaha is a beast and the extra power also helps in rough water. Good choice👍
Thanks 👍cap and yes that is my main reason if oceans get rough a bigger engine will not suffer that much , thanks for watching cap.
I'm slightly intimidated by that work, but you made it look easy enough. Sounds great
You can do it! cap but yes it takes lots of work , thanks for watching .👍
My favorite part of setting up a new boat is the engine rigging and mounting, and then of course that first cold start!! Great video brother!
thanks cap and yes the fist cold start is like seeing your newborn child being delivered lol🤣😁👍
@@OutOnTheReef 😂😂⚡️⚡️
Looks great Captain. Can’t wait for the maiden voyage.

Thanks for the tutorial captain! This will be helpful to me. I am about to do the same with a 115 Mercury Optimax going onto the 9to5less catamaran.
@ninehundreddollarluxuryyac5958 you are welcome cap. And I hope everything goes well , the hardest past is removing the steering system because the salt Hass looked them up in some cases,
Navigate safe cap. And thanks for watching
NIce install Capt. You are so good at you at making your own repairs that is amazing, the attention to details and not cutting corning is admired. Thank you for all yours instructional videos. I have installed my air conditioner and autopilot following your clear instructions. 😀😀
@jakeroth5809 that is awesome Jake I'm glad that you have taken that challenge 😀 and thanks for being part of my channel cap.
It'll be way quieter once it's in the water. Nice easy install.
yes you are right cap, thanks for watching
Great job Captain. Break-in time!!!! 🛥
thank Christian and yes no is the break in time exited cap, thanks for watching.
Great job cap!!! I enjoyed watching the video I set a new motor like 25 years ago on my old flats boat so it was fun to live vicariously through you all over again. lol... Seriously I appreciate a guy like you that takes pride in doing things himself, looking forward to seeing it on the water and the performance data vs the older 200 Yami.
Thanks 👍so much cap i really tried my best and 25 years ago we did not the tools that we have now that makes it easy cap. im sure you did great too , thanks for being part of the channel and soon i will bring you some data cap .😊👍
Ahora tenemos un motor seis cilindros con más fuerza si lo quieres hacer 300 caballos lo puedes hacer claro que suena un poco más por la potencia felicidades capitan por la nueva compra
muchas gracias capitan es una mejor opcion
Well done sir!
thanks cap it was lots work but came out great
Very impressive! Great job. Amazing how quick it starts up after being pickled.
Thanks 👍 cap first star was like a champ 4.2 liter is going to be a great size for open seas
Congratulations on your new engine skipper.
Looking forward to watching your first trip out. Enjoy.
@maxfrenn3281 Thank you, captain.Appreciate you watching and soon.I have to do the break in on the engine And that's gonna be fun🤣
Love the sound, can't wait for the sea trial.
me too cap and see you on the next video cap.
Was just down at the ocean, seen this boat going by half in the air half in the water. Shooting a mile long rooster tail. Said to myself there is the crooked pilot house. Trying his new engine out. 😂😂😂😂
lol cap trying to break the sound barrier 🤣👍👍
The lower unit had oil was there already oil in the engine also. I also recommend runing it and change the oil and after break in run Amsoil synthetic oil in the engine.
great idea cap thanks for the advice 👍
Great Job 👍
Thanks! 👍 cap
Awesome Job! I know it was a lot of work, But You saved yourself a ton of money doing it yourself! Can't wait to see it in the water! 😎👍⚓
Thanks 👍 captain Rick and yes lots of work but i made sure it it was done right , this days installers dont take pride on working on boats , thanks for watching cap.
Nice job cap can’t wait for the comparison 😊

Amazing you have the knowledge to accomplish all these tasks!
Congratulations and can’t wait to see the numbers . Cheers hope that beer we donated last video is still cold 🍻
thanks cap sure will and that beer will be enjoyed in my next Bahama trip cap, thanks for being awesome cap.
Congratulations on he new engine. Love how it sounds... Thanks for sharing. I know it will bring a lot o joy to your adventures. Yamaha is the most dependable engine in the market. I know you'll be flying above water with this engine.
Thanks cap i appreciate that, That's the plan!👍😁
Hey Captain, you make an excellent job. Don’t worry about the noise, I have the same engine they all sound like that , but when you put it into the water the RPM will be a little bit lower and The engine will be very quiet, let’s see how it works in the water 🚤
Thanks for the tips! cap and i always have the pilothouse closed with the ac on so i will not hear it most of the time ,and what type of oil grade do you use cap?
That's a 2600 rigging job you did right there, Awesome that Yammi will serve you well.
Wow Thanks 👍cap. and im exited to use it soon and i will bring you back the new data cap. thanks for watching cap.
There ya go brother, outstanding! Can't wait to see you run it on the water. Great job!
Can't wait! thanks Roger for your support cap.
Very nice re-power, just a little more horsepower also. I just ordered about $350.00 worth of parts to get my boat back out in the ocean off Little Torch Key. I moved down to Cudjoe Key about 5-1/2 weeks ago from Big Pine Key. Now I can see the ocean from my back door, eeee-haw.
wow cap you can see the ocean that the life right there cap . for us boaters that's a treat, get that maintenance done cap and see you on the water cap,
Capitan, eres cuidadoso y te aseguras d los detalles exelente ,disfruta cada minuto d lo k te gusta hacer pq es ahora estamos prestado ,bueno we r all waiting for the brake in.
muchas gracias Roberto trato de acer lo mejor que puedo y pronto te traere el video del break in cap , saludos capi.
Me acuerdo cuando eso me toco a mi--eso hace decadas. Temoroso. I figured I'd post a Spanish comment. Good job, Captain!
jajaja muchas gracias capitan and thanks for watching cap.
I've got to tell you on this video. I sprayed my whole engine with CLI ant corrosive spray before I even put it in the water. My engines is five years old and it looks like the day I had it put on the thing I did just FYI
thanks John i always use silicone spray an my last engine of 6 years looked like the first day i purchased too cap, thanks
You are THE DIY man.
lol cap i try 😁👍👍👍
Can’t wait to see it run. Be safe cap.
soon i will bring that data cap thanks for watching
Good job Captain good luck with that engine😊 stay safe out there prop clear
Thanks, you too! cap and always Prop Clear!!😁👍
congrats man great installation video man.
Thanks! 👍cap it was work but with patience was great , jus saw your live today , and i agree never travel to the Bahamas in a holyday is not worth it cap. great advice
@@OutOnTheReef yes sir, bahamas on a hokiday is no bueno. I will do the same with the 22 will purchase a 225 or 200 and install it my self.on oregon now working and week end will be working so no fun for me man. enjoy that beautifull 225 now you will have more torque on the water man great for those inderwater currents
@sonetcom yes cap a new motor for your 22 will be worry free cap
Well done, Capt!
thanks Craig i try my best to installed and thanks for watching cap.
Oh no I didn't hear you say prop clear all clear before start-up. Lol... Nice looking and sounding engine Capt.
you are so right cap i really messed up there lol thanks for reminding me Prop Clear!
Enjoy Capt.
Well done! Congratulations! Now, let's put some hours on that Yamaha!! Cheers.
That's the plan! cap. 😁👍 and thanks for watching cap.
Well done! Yes, it's not as loud in the water.
yes the exhaust will be under water ,thanks for watching cap.
That's a HOT ROD engine Cap'n! Sounds great too! Buona fortuna!
thanks Mikey yes is a big engine 4.2 liter v6 cant weight to use it cap.
Gorgeous motor, Cap - sounds badass out of the water. Nice job on the installation 😎
I’ll be curious to see the comparison in fuel economy. Sometimes big engines working easy do about as good as smaller ones working harder….
you the man
lol thanks cap i try my best 😊👍
Great job, Cap. I’m trying to figure out if you are an engineer or a mechanic by trade? You did the measuring and knew you had to cut the frame to get the engine to spin and adjust to be properly aligned. Great to see your “First Mate” out there with you.
I see you are torquing the mount bolts, does the CPH have nut plates on the inner side. This is new to me. I remember when it was “bolts and nuts “ with wide washers.
They are shipped with oil to keep the gears coated to prevent corrosion, especially in Florida.
Great tutorial as well. She will be a bit more quiet under water. You do have a lot more engine.
@jeffreypinder9398 Hello captain and the crooked pilot house doesn't have plate inside just watchers but the top has a metal long plate, And yes
It's great to work with her. And I do a little of everything😉🛥👍
And tomorrow i'm gonna put up a video about some adjustments that you may Find interesting and thank you for watching captain.
See You on the next video
Great job Captain 👍
thanks cap it was some work , thanks for watching cap.
Great job! I've done it many a Time! Not too bad when it's just plug and play since everything is the same but when I've had to change over from Mercury Suzuki or other type of wiring I've always had to Cuban rig it!
Right on! cap i do Cuban rigging sometimes too 🤣😁👍
the oil it ships with is preservation oil made to store the engine for indefinite time
wow thanks cap. how did you found that info cap?
Bet you feel like a proud new PaPa, congrats
yes my fat baby is ready for some fuel 🤣👍👍
@@OutOnTheReef you should hear how my six cylinder sounds out of the water, it's 2 stroke it sounds like a NASCAR. That's way quieter Skip
Great work. Looking forward to sea trial!
thanks cap and yes me too
It's gonna be a little bit louder than the other one don't forget it's a six cylinder they're not as noisy as the two-stroke when you got the throttle down but they do make some noise I think you'll be able to water ski behind that one
lol i like that cap and as far as the noise im inside the cabin with ac unit on 👍👍😁
Excellent work Captain 👨✈️. That V-6 growls ❤. I can’t wait to see the first sea trial video 😊
Do you broadcast an AIS signal when offshore ?
thanks cap and no AIS for me cap . i will keep you updated cap. thanks for watching 👍
Question, dealer let you walk out with the engine? I recently repowered twin Suzuki's 200 not one dealer was letting me walk out with the engines. I'm from NY, I even flew down to FL, Atlantic marine and it was a no go. I also called dealers in about 10 different states, no go. I must assume at this point Yamaha dealer has no issues with it? Every dealer said they would have do the install so that Suzuki honors the 5 year warranty.
All that aside, awesome job! From one boater to another, I'm proud of you!
that is true cap, in my case is different , but yes dealers have to register your warrantee, thanks for watching 👍
Very informative! I might look at replacing our 2006 Suzuki 175 with a new, larger model. I will probably stick with Suzuki to make it easier. Thanks for the video.
Glad it was helpful! and yes keep the same brand so that way you cap save money and make it easy cap
I have the same boat with the 200hp motor instead of replacing the motor I replaced the prop with a Sharrow prop I’m now getting up on plane very quickly & I’m also getting way better gas mileage
i thought of doing the same but the cost of the prop it was more economical for me to sell my 200hp and get the 225 hp for $7 k more new engine instead of getting that expensive prop cap but i her they a good for economy ,thanks for your comment cap.
Fantastic job Capt. on the Yamaha install. Won't be much fun for the first hour of break-in as you aren't suppose to go over 2,000 rpm and the 2nd hour is a little better but still restricted.
very true cap but autopilot will be doing the work i will be siting and enjoying the ride 😁👍👍thanks for watching cap
Very nice job installing that engine. Thanks for documenting the process. I have the 250 version of that 4.2L engine. Tell me about those flush muffs you’re using. I run mine in a portable pool/barrel. I like your method better. Did you make or buy those dual muffs?
Also, I highly recommended using the Yamaha Ring Free fuel additive every time you add fuel. Best of luck with that new engine cap! 👍🏼😎
@@UrjunkMygold I got those muffs.I believe in amazon captain and thank you for the awesome suggestion
Break in oil has the required friction modifiers to break in and seat vital components. Enjoy the new power. Hopefully you get a few miles out of the tank.
great to know cap. thanks for sharing and for watching cap and yes a few miles per gallon will be amazing
Make sure you get the optimized rpm’s at full throttle and prop is pitched correctly. I got mine tuned in with my boat and 300 Yamaha, to 5800- 6000 rpm’s full throttle and boat performs perfect.y, and under load and will stay in range and not bog down.
that is correct thanks cap that way wen you get heavy loaded you can trip up the engine and be ok, thanks cap for you suggestion 👍😁
I can't wait to hear Yamaha's explanation of old used engine oil. A brand-new motor's initial startup needs to be with clean oil to lube bearing and cylinder rings, crank and everything internal. Doesn't sound right to me. Sorry I had to bring this up, but I'm getting to replace my Yamaha. Let us know please. Also did you check to see the run hours already logged?
im with you on that cap. and soon someone from Yamaha has to see this, thanks cap..
My 250 Suzuki in the driveway sounds like a NASCAR engine in the water you have to check to make sure it’s running it’s so quiet.
I’m sure that one will be the same
very true cap, once submerged 90% of the sound will be gone ,thanks for watching cap.
Good job Cap!..I'm sure it will quiet down when its in the water.
yes 100% true cap. thanks for watching cap.
Great detail Capn. I wonder how much metal was in the old oil? The oil plug must be magnetic? Whatever you did a great job, very thorough! Good luck
the lower unit did have metal shavings but the engine don't have a magnet
Great job, Cap! It might be the way I am seeing it but the water stream from the upper section seemed a little weak, no? Looking forward to seeing it in the water..
Thanks for the tips! cap i saw that too but i ren it for 40 minutes and the engine kept the 135 temperature steady , but maybe that's the way they are but i know the 200 was stronger for sure cap, thanks you for pointing that out cap.
Good job Cap. I’m surprised the engine doesn’t have a hose port instead of using those clamps.
@michaelcountssr.8445 Hello
Captain and yes it has a port but you're not supposed to turn the engine on through the port
@@OutOnTheReef then what is it for if you can’t use it that way?
@@michaelcountssr.8445 is for flushing engine only cap That's why they made it
BTW.
As a boat ownor myself I find going to fish market cheaper cost and more for the money. LOL!
@robb1460 lol we spend a lot in this toys 🤣💰💰
Wait until you are able to run it full throttle. You will find out WHY it sounds louder on the muffs. Let's go!
thank cap now you got me thinking , im exited to use it cap and thanks for watching from Panama City cap.
Clean install cap! Can’t wait to see the performance numbers! 🛥️🤙🌊
Coming soon! cap we will see it soon im exited to see how it performs , navigate safe cap.
I advice you new outboard you need to order sharrow propeller. For better efficiency more speed
they are too expensive cap. maybe wen they get lower price
Wow teraz czekamy na test 👍
thanks cap.
