That was hilarious how you told that guy the limit. Idk how many people i come across on the backwaters that still thi k it's 25. They don't believe me when I say that changed in 2020.😂
Appreciate you teaching selective harvesting! I believe I might have an idea of where you were ... if it was all that shallow til it meets the river ill be there in a few days!
I've hit the 15+in fish the past few years in certain spot's. This year I'm going for one on 1# test. If it happens I'm putting it on the wall. If you do catch one for the wall, take pix and measurements and get a replica. They cost more, but last alot longer.
@@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors 100% they last WAY longer and knowing the fish was swimming when you released it makes you truly value that trophy 🏆still after a trophy MN carp and Flathead and bowfin
Dang yea that's on another level from the one I got! I've been holding out for a 15" for a few years now but figured the one I kept will be a start and if I get some others in the future I can always add them and make it a stringer mount.
Good job on putting those big girls back! Those 8-10’s are perfect to keep and helps those bigger genetics goin
Wow those perch r just amazing!
My favorite

Great outing, thanks for sharing! Stay topside everyone and tight lines.
Wow! What an absolute crazy perch bite. That looks amazing. It’s not quite that hot and heavy in the backwaters near the metro where I’m at.
What a slob of a perch! I’m so jealous lol hopefully I can get on ice in southern wi next week
You'll find em! Good luck!

Good luck if you go! Send me an email if you want to test your theory of where I am.
Awesome fishing!
So cool
And here I went and drove 2 days across the country to hit Cascade last year!
I went to Devils Lake once and through the same thing lol...
That's some nice perch. I've been fishing the area for the last couple of years and it's awesome. One suggestion though, get a pair of forceps.
Definitely won't forget a pair of forceps next time I go out...
@@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors how much ice did you have there?
What pool is that?? Too fun
I am so glad the LIMIT is lower!
SAME! No reason that a person needs to take home 25 jumbo females. Love watching them swim away.
Good catch! Wondering about those tip downs where to get some?
The Arctic warrior ones with the flag or the other one?
@@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors the other one, never have seen one like that
@@matthewreiter4107 I won that at a derby through island outdoors in la crosse. It was called a “fly tip down”
@@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors right on that's awesome! I'm a little south of there by prairie can't wait for jamboree at crooked ore!
@@matthewreiter4107 never heard of that!
What are you tipping those dead sticks with? Minnow on that hook or waxies?
Minnow
Nice fish! Are there still people on the ice after all the rain/snow or did the storm end ice fishing for a few days?
Certain places on certain pools. Wouldn't trust anything South of Winona without looking for myself right now.
For sure, u cant see where ur walking rigjt now. Even with a spud bar its scetchy
Thise have to be the biggest perch I have ever seen
Get em!!
How is the ice now? By the airport lights or Around that general area. 10-16-2022
I wouldn't venture out by the lights yet, but airport ice should be fine.

Good to know. If I ever get a giant musky or something I would definitely go replica just so I could release the fish

@@jasonkmvang I caught a 54 pound Flathead this summer and would love to get a replica of that but don’t think many guys do catfish
@@JacksonBaumgartOutdoors of course they do! Along with sturgeon! The only reason many people don't is due to cost because of the raw size :)
@@jasonkmvang true. The picture and videos I have of it are memory enough. I don’t think my wife needs a giant catfish Mount in the house lol 😂
what's your surface clutter set at on your helix?

Which pool?
Like he's gonna tell you?
I caught a 17 incher and didn't get it mounted. Maybe next time. If i am lucky enough to catch another one.
