GodHome content will be streamed on Sunday's, as I mentioned in the video, but thought I'd mention it here too as there still seems to be questions regarding it 😅 I have no intention of filming it as an individual episode as the interest in seeing it has been minimal. By streaming it, the videos will be up for those who miss the streams, but it also frees up my time to record content for other LP's ❤
Yeah that's fair, it takes like an hour per attempt and most people take a LOT of attempts (The Final Pantheon is the only part of the game I didn't finish). As much as we enjoy watching you progress through the game, Godhome is a different beast. I'd still love to watch the highlights, if you feel like editing the whole thing down to a single video? ❤ (There's a few key moments in particular I'd like to see your reaction to, but I won't spoil them)
@@MumboJ They'll exist as videos on the playlist. The streams will stay up on the channel so it'll be there for people to skim through I wouldn't know what to edit down for it to be worthwhile for a single video, but I also knew this content, if recorded, could take months so the streams seem like a nice balance. For those that can make it - they'll be able to see it live. For those that can't, the video will be up on the TH-cam channel!
@@drsophiedarlingi am actually very interested in seeing you doing that stuff! i did it myself like a year ago. its a journey for itself. so i am looking forward and hope to catch the streams. amazing playthrough by the way
@@schopencioran235 Thank you so much lovely! The live streams will begin on the 7th January as I'm away in England next Sunday! But I'm looking forward to testing my resolve in GodHome!!
I'm in the final Pantheon of Godhome right now and all I'll say is it's been hoooooours of practice and attempts. It's fun but wow is it challenging. Excited to catch the streams when I can!
For your question about Nailsmith and Sheo's relationship...the achievement for not killing Nailsmith and finding them together is called "Happy Couple" 😊
I'm so happy you came to the grubberfly conclusion on your own! It's also implied by the achievement you get from collecting all the grubs, which is called "Metamorphosis". I definitely think that it was intended to be a happy ending for the grubs, and the grubfather fulfilling his role in life, allowing his children to move on and become full grown adults!
@@drsophiedarling There's quite a bit of proof to back up the parental pupation theory, so I'd definitely think it's a happy ending for the grubs, even if it might look bad at first x3 I think it was meant to shock the player a little at first, and those who look more into it are rewarded with a relief :')
@@drsophiedarling There is also a document from a collectors edition called 'Grub care instructions' that you can google, which is really cute and tells you that the Grubberfly might be met again in the dream world.
I also refuse to believe in a sad ending for the grubs, and I do agree that there's evidence this is a metamorphosis, not a death. It took me a while to come to that conclusion.
@@drsophiedarlingit is actually how some bugs mature. The males bodies are used as a sort of pupa and the larva eat themselves out of the male when they've matured. Freaky but such is nature
The collector may be my second favorite boss. It takes all that we've seen of the void and flips it on it's head, being loud and laughing, instead of the silent and emotionless.
Theory that hit me after watching the episode. When you find the Love Key, it's on a corpse that has the black markings of void on its face. The dream nail dialogue talks about "becoming one". What if this person formed some sort of relationship with the Collector, whom we know is probably from White Palace. As a result of this relationship, the Void affected the bug and the Collector took on some of its personality? In other words, like how the Hollow Knight was made impure by a "thought instilled", maybe the Collector took on a personality through a relationship with the bug. Just a thought.
I firmly believe that the grubs are okay and that they spend their cocooning days eating their dad. RIP Grubfather, we will always remember your sacrifice.
This whole time I’ve been wanting to ask, “but who PUT the babies in jars?” I truly did not know HK would answer me! lol. Also, you got that darn moth! Ahaha! Well done.
Yep, you got it. The grubs/grubfather are going to metamorphize. It's probably what the Collector was trying to protect them from, but at the end of the day this is just part of their nature. Good job on finding all the babies!
@@drsophiedarling When you defeat the Collector, before hitting him, you can use the Nail Dream on him and you will know that what he did was "lock" the babies because they were fragile against the hollownest creatures.
I never understood why a lot people got mad when the Grubdad "ate" the other grubs. I knew that his role was a cocoon. Probably because I like insects.
I think initially it's shock?! Like you spend the whole game saving these little bugs and being happy seeing them dancing in their home that when you come back and it's quiet, it's like a "WAIT A SECOND!" I'm just glad I knew what the word Elegy meant so I could suss out that it was not a sad thing haha!
@@drsophiedarling If you havent watched already, and even if you have, it might be nice to film a reaction, maybe even as part of a stream if you dont want to do it as separate reaction content.
@@drsophiedarling Out of everyone that's played this my favorite is yours and Symbalily. Poor lamb was in shock. It was so funny. You actually took the time to find out what words meant, which added to the awesome so great job.
"there might be some edits, don't question it" abrupt cut from sobbing to WE DID IT seamless, didn't notice a thing lol grats! I'm delighted you went and found what the Nailsmith gets up to. See, it's not all gloom! and the elderbug remains a treasure isn't it wild that the endings are like, 5 seconds long, but still somehow really appropriate?
1:49:49 - I don't think that's gaslighting... I think it's just accurate. Remember how many bugs had their young inside them throughout this game? The Gruz Mother, the Aspid Mothers, the Carver Hatchers, Flukemarm... (and even the Knight itself if you use the Glowing Womb charm, sorta.) I think the Grubfather is really just keeping them safe until they're ready, at which point they'll burst out of him. He'll be gone at that point (hence the "Elegy" part of his charm's name), but his young will have a fighting chance in so hostile a place. The achievement related to this is also called "Metamorphosis". Eating the grubs and getting fat would not be a metamorphosis, so the achievement name wouldn't make any sense if that's what happened there. Metamorphosis _could_ refer to the Grubfather becoming a cocoon for his young though, or to the Grubs starting their metamorphosis into their next form, whatever that may be.
Congrats on getting the "true" ending. I would definitely agree that of the endings in the base game its the best one, but its still very sad. For all of the Knight's hard work and struggles against insurmountable odds, the best it can hope for is to rid Hallownest of the infection and set its siblings free. It will never be rewarded for it, nor will the poor siblings ever see some karma or reward for having been sacrificed, the best they can hope for is to rest in peace. It's really powerful and really sad. Hollow Knight reminds me a lot of Dark Souls 1 in many ways, among which is this sense of doing the best we can to squeeze out the smallest bit of hope or happiness in a tragic, dying, world. Good job on completing the flower quest and getting the last mask too. You did good in choosing your route, and as you discovered clearing out the enemies ahead of time makes it a lot easier. Also that feeling of "remember when this used to be hard?" when doing the platforming bit in greenpath is exactly how I felt going back after completing White Palace. White Palace really forces you to level up your platforming skills. The Collector is another boss I think has a top notch design but is not especially fun to fight. The distorted music, the giggling, the fact that hitting it doesn't give soul and the lore implications there-of, it's place in the world of Hallownest as an in-universe reason for why the grubs are in jars, all of that is excellent. Running around for 3 minutes chasing it and blasting away its little summons less so. I must say though, this episode of tying up lose ends has a funny sort of catharsis to it. Many of the things you've missed have had me internally screaming "No, you missed something, go there, go that way" in the same manner you would at a character in a slasher movie making a decision you know is going to get them killed. So seeing you go back and find those missed secrets really does have an element of catharsis to it, especially opening the Tower of Love shortcut and finding the grub past the breakable floor at around 1:28:00 (for that one it was particularly funny, cause after going down there initially you just went "huh, not much here" and left, as if somehow in your brain you still thought of the path past the acid as untraverseable). For challenge runs, my first one, and one I can somewhat recommend, was a no nail upgrades run. It's nice because it forces you to get better with spell usage, though you are already a lot better at using spells than I was when I started that run so it probably won't be AS helpful for you. There is, of course, also Steel Soul mode, the no dying mode, which can be an interesting challenge in its own right. The "Get 100% Completion in Steel Soul Mode" steam achievement was, last time I checked, the achievement with the lowest completion percentage, but personally I found completing Godhome to be significantly harder. Steel Soul is not THAT hard if you plan your route and prepare well, especially if you are willing to cheese it a bit, but does still provide an interesting challenge, so could be a run worth considering. That boss you are missing for pantheon 3 I'm 90% sure is Elder Hu, a dream warrior in the Fungal Wastes. He's on the right side of the map pretty near where you first meet Cloth. Oh and good detective work on Grubberfly. Everyone, understandably, initially assumes he just ate the grubs, but as you realized there are a lot of clues pointing to something else. In fact, here's an additional clue: the achievement you get for rescuing all the grubs is Metamorphosis. That, the things you noticed with the charm, and the fact that it seems HIGHLY unlikely that Grubberfly, who you initially found crying over his missing kids, would be willing to dish out that much cash if he was actually just intending to eat them.
AH!! Thank you - I think I am missing a Champion so that must be who it is. I'll have to track him down. Maybe there will be another episode of just finding the old dream bosses to fight like Soul Tyrant which I completely forgot to go back and do haha!
@@drsophiedarling Cool! And then you can go back to the Seer with all that extra Essence for some juicy bits of lore once you've gathered enough....You'll know once you're done; she makes it feel very finalized
Next time you're in Queens Station, now that you have the Monarch Wings you can actually jump up to watch Willoh eat. It's a minor hidden thing but cute and only takes a few secs.
By the way, you can now go back to the Traitor's Grave to grab more flowers if you want to give them to more people. There's quite a few people you can offer them to. Just DON'T offer one to Godseeker just yet, or else you'll miss an ending!
Congratulations on tying so many loose ends! I especially enjoyed your reaction to the Collector and Grub Father. You definitely will be able to finish Grimm Troop and Collesium 3 in two episodes, I believe in you. And God Home cold be a good chalange for streams, as you suggested. Speaking of pantheons, the boss you missing is Elder Hu, a ghost bos in the Fungal Waste
Me at the beginning of this episode be like: ''Sophie, dont you dare cry again and make me cry too.... SOPHIE..... oh naurrrr...... well damn it.'' hahahahaha
1:05:48 you can learn her name later in Sheo's house. 1:06:58 you can bring to her some charms (Grimm's and Ogrim's and maybe others) and the flower to see new dialogues. 1:46:37 your reaction is brilliant!
Finally!! The collector. That's my favorite non dream boss. I just love how crazy he is and the psycho laugh. Plus you get the grub map after beating him. Good luck with the Grimm DLC! I'll be watching
Well done with this "true ending" achievement! Team cherry has said there is no true ending but this is basically considered true ending by the community. It's definitely the best ending out of all of them imo. Now follows my tldr :') It is very sad for us the player because we've spent so much time with this little creature, even if it doesnt talk you still connect to it but at the same time, this is probably the best ending it could have considering how it was conceived. The flower to elder bug moment is also one of the most touching moments in the game imo. Its especially funny when he calls you a young bug when he's probably one of the youngest bug you've come across. There's also another thing you can do while you're travelling around Hallownest tying up loose ends. If you equip the sporeshroom charm and go and explore the bottom right of Kingdom's edge, you should find something interesting that might give you some hint on what to do for this interesting journey, if you're up for it. Might be something to combine with the grimm troupe just because you'll be travelling around for both. Or if you cant be bothered to figure out the riddle, which fair enough, then the locations can be found on the wiki. There's also some interesting charm interactions with some NPCs, though you might just wanna google that instead of going through all that trouble, the white lady has interesting charm interactions which can be found on the wiki under her dialogue options and then charm interactions and grimm troupe and also the delicate flower interaction (unless you want to do it yourself, then you can visit her with the poop charm, grimmchild and a flower if you're realllly looking for a challenge, flowers can still be picked up at the grave but I don't think anyone can reasonably be expected to do all that, I'm just mentioning it in case you really want that extra dialogue whether looking it up or doing it yourself). There's also a bunch of other stuff but I think the white lady dialogue really stands out there lore wise. The mask maker also has interesting dialogue, masked and unmasked, that can be found on the wiki. none of these things I mentioned are really absolutely necessary but they add just a little bit more understanding of the story.
Aaaa!!!! Congratulations on the Dream No More ending! You worked hard for it! You also fought my favorite side boss! XD At least on the lore end. The Collector has more to it than you saw. Surprisingly large amount of lore for it itself and wider lore implications for the game. In the dreamnail dialog, grub care instructions (from the game's collector's edition), and also there's a hidden room in the White Palace... (I admit I also just can't resist a mentally ill character XD Regardless exactly what's up with its mind, we know it's not quite right) I think the boss you're missing on the door in Godhome is a dream warrior in Fungal Wastes.
Thank you lovely!! Honestly, the Collector is a very bizarre individual but so funny too!! The fact he puts your shade in a jar when you die to him is just hilarious!
Definitely canon couple. The achievement for finding them together is called Happy Couple. To get all achievements you’ll have to let Zote die and then hit his mask with your nail I believe. That’s is the Neglect achievement. To get the Purity achievement you would have to kill the Naismith.😢
YES you gave the flower to Elderbug! I completely agree his reaction is so good and so worth it. Dang you got so much done this episode! That ending is so bittersweet, I'm right there with you. It was really nice that you gave it time to breathe too, discussing it a bit afterwards. This whole episode was a treat to be honest- all those loose ends gathered up and your reactions were so wholesome! Especially with the Nailsmith and the babies
It's just the way he holds the little flower!! He's such a precious baby!! Honestly this video felt like the end of a journey - just so emotional how everything came together!!
I'm glad you popped up in my recommended feed! This was a great way to pass my lunch breaks 😆 See you in the next playthrough, be it Ori or whatever else
Seeing you defeating Radiance for the first time was really intense. I could litterally feel your heart beat, mine was beating fast too, like the first time... And I did two runs of the game, each time beating all pantheons will all bindings and all bosses in no-hit mod... I really didn't expect to feel that way seeing you fight Radiance... it's as if my body remembers the feeling. Really powerful. thank you
What i like about this game is the music and the atmosphere and challenging bosses and a lot of things that make it a masterpiece I can't wait for silksong to come out
Your reaction to beating the radiance and the Dream No More ending was priceless.❤❤❤Congratulations! I saw a TH-cam comment in the White Palace music that said it hits different when you get the dream no more ending. I think we probably both agree with that comment.
An amazing episode Sophie! From Radiance, to the flower, and your great reaction to the grubs. Priceless. And you do seem to be correct about the grubs' fate. The charm is even a picture of a grub with wings which gives more credibility to it. But i had the same initial reaction you did. Between Grimm, Colosseum 3, and the pantheons you have hours ahead and some great content, but breaking some into streams is a good idea. You've come so far and it's been a great ride. Greater things in 2024!
Thank you lovely!! Yeah the last episode (which is out on wednesday) was surprisingly short as it focused solely on the DLC. The other content will be streams since they'll be hours and I doubt it'll be that interesting to watch as offline content ❤️
Congrats on beating Radiance, Sophie!!! It took me about a dozen attempts on my first playthrough, it is one of the toughest bosses in the base game and it is awesome seeing other people beat it too!
So many things in this episode! I'm glad you saved the babies and I think they're going to be OK. I also loved all your reactions to each new stage of Colosseum 3! I believe you will be able to tackle it! If you want to know where the final charms are (space for hints/spoilers): you'll find one in the Infected Crossroads (in an area you couldn't reach early on) you'll find the other behind a hidden wall in the Crystal Peaks - there's a miner in the way (but not Myla, who is going to be totally fine)
grubberfly's elegy is so useful. It has some cool synergies with other charms. If you pair it with with grubsong, the amount of soul you receive when you get hit will increase, if you pair it with quickslash it fires quicker, long nail extends the range, it will activate again if you have one mask if you have mark of fury on. Grubsong also has a really cool synergy with weaversong. Basically if the weaverlings hit something they will collect soul for you. Also if you pair sprintmaster with weaversong, they will be more aggressive and be able to travel further to hit enemies. There are a lot of cool synergies in this games with the charms. Gubberfly's elegy helped me so much in the later stages of the game.
something i find interesting with hollow knight is the cosmic horror aspect. of course its not a game about space, but if you compare radiance to a Lovecraftian eldritch being like yog sothoth or Nyarllathotep, the Radiance bends the minds of those who look upon it in their dreams to its will and often drives them mad. alot of people dont know this, but in the lore of lovecraft, if your mind is strong you can look upon the eldritch and not go mad. you only need a strong enough will. anyway, the eldritch beings are indescribable as the words necessary to describe them, do not exist. so giving creatures like Cthulhu descriptive words like "tentacles and waxy skin" do not actually do it justice, because we are only able to use simile to compare it to something we understand. but there isnt anything to compare them to. we can describe the Radiance as a moth, but it isnt one. because the Moth tribe exist in Hollow Knight. seer is a moth herself. and we see one in the grave as an essence spirit. we can describe Cthulhu as an octopus, but it isnt one. in the lord of the rings, there is a Maia spirit or what we believe is a maia spirit by the name of Ungoliant. ungoliant is the mother of the famous Shelob. the spider in the caves surrounding Mordor in the films. ungoliant and shelob are described as having Spider like features. but they are not spiders. they are something else and other worldly. there are also a race of creatures called the Nameless Things. that are found in the mines of Moria. and they are said to have been on middle earth, since the before the songs of ainur. which isnt possible because the songs created the universe. i like to believe Radiance is a being like this
I actually like that concept. Very similar to Bloodborne in the sense that these creatures often resemble dogs or animals in general, but they're far from it. Similar to The Watcher in The Water in The Fellowship of the Ring which looks like a kraken but is NOT a kraken. It's a higher being of some sort!! 💖
@@drsophiedarlingoh! so i play Magic the Gathering. in its multiverse the different sets of the game take place in completely seperate realities. these Realities are called Planes. and there are being who can walk between these realms called Planeswalkers. probably the most famous planeswalker is Jace Beleren. in between each plane is a realm called The Blind Eternities . the Blind Eternities have no volume, time, or space. they are merely a barrier with no width or diameter between other planes. in the multiverse of magic exist beings known as the Eldrazi. and they come from 3 beings, Kozilek, Emrakul, and Ulamog. being near the titans conscripts you into the eldrazi horde, even just by looking. the 3 Beings are known as the Eldrazi Titans, and they lack a physical form in the common sense. instead, they exist in the realm of the Blind Eternities between planes, and when Ugin, another planeswalker, described them to Jace uppn the titan invasion, quote: *"The Eldrazi titans do not dwell in physical space," said Ugin. "They are creatures of the Blind Eternities, and it is in the Eternities that they remain." "Until they manifest physically, you mean?" "No," said Ugin. "I meant what I said. Ulamog remains in the Eternities." "Then what did I see heading toward Sea Gate?" "You saw a portion of him," said Ugin. "A projection. Imagine that you reach your hand into a pond. The fish below the surface sees a five-headed monster, and cannot perceive the man attached to it. It mistakes a hangnail for an eye because the truth is beyond its imagining. You see?"* radiance could be like this. a being outside reality, manifesting as an infectiob
@@drsophiedarling Yeah, music in this game really does heavy lifting in terms of storytelling. Specifically in this piece, the melody is a part from Hollow Knight boss fight, but altered. Instead of being filled with tension, like during the fight, or with duty, like during other ending, it finally becomes calm and peaceful and have proper resolution in the end.
@@takonaegi2967 The only thing I can describe it as being similar to emotion wise is the Plin Plin Plon in the fight against Gwyn in Dark Souls! That cord just emotionally wrecks me!
@@drsophiedarling Yeah, same! Interesting fact, both themes have have elements of requiem in them, simply speaking - funeral song. And that resonates with both their stories, as we put legendary heroes out of their suffering to well deserved rest.

Congratulations on doing so well. I must admit I am plagued by moths but mostly flying in my open window at night, luckily none yet with multi-stage fights with swords. I personally rage quit on the flower quest so was cool to see that done especially with the elderbug love. I also refuse to listen to any grub theory and stick with this being a good result for the babies. I'll try and catch the stream for some Godhome, having watched you best Zote in all his forms I feel like you could go a long way. Watching this playthrough has brought tonnes from my games flooding back and I'm so pleased you have been connecting with it so strongly, a remarkable feat by Cherry to make us all bawl tears over some bugs with story, animation and music
1:33:46 so close to the waterways baby darling, you did great just 4 left without the map! Love how much you're kicking ass at this game, just sad you're almost done. ... Give us a Godhome run darling! Get the last 2 endings!
Godhome will be streamed every Sunday at 3pm GMT and the videos will remain up on TH-cam. It's a long grind and I want to free up my Saturday's to record other LP's content - so Godhome content will be there just not in this format :) I was shocked I only had 4 left!!
Yay! Congratulations Sophie! That's my favorite official ending too. Makes me cry every time. I think the 2 dlc endings are my fave favorites but also a total nightmare to get. Looking forward to ur streams, it's honestly probably the best format for trying to get them, it's a good call. Best of luck!!
Congratz on beating the moth! This is also my fav ending as well. Its bittersweet but you put an end to the infection, for good. Hornet survives and you release the Hollow Knight from his torment as well (you can even see him help you finish the moth off!). Its not even known if you 'die,' sure your shell breaks but I think your shade lives on and rejoins all of the others back in the Abyss. Where they can sleep in peace. Well done with the flower as well, I always assume it will take me at least 3 tries lol No spoilers but there are others you can gives flowers too besides Elder Bug. You can get unlimited flowers from the grave now if you wish. 1:45:30 "Do I have to come back?" HAHAHAHAHA She doesn't know! 1:46:35 Now she knows! lol
I don’t know if anyone else has said it but I believe you’re still missing a vessel fragment, I’m happy to give a hint as to where you might find it but if you want to find it on your own that’s also great
Sophieeeeee, congratulations on discovering the final part of the game! also for defeating the big moth (that meanie) I'm so happy that you are going to stream HK, are you streaming in YT an twitch?? or just in one channel? Also I notice how you heart break at this point 1:46:49
I'm going to be streaming it solely on YT and the streams will be added to the HK playlist for people to watch and catch up with on their own time if they can't make the streams 😊❤️
1:40 the character you're not recognizing is a warrior dream in fungal wastes :) in case you want to know the areas the missing charms reside (If not, don't read any further xD) those are as follows: King's pass Crystal peaks
Lol, loved your initial shcoked reaction to the grubfather! The achievement for recovering all the grubs is metamorphosis, so it would appear that grubfathers sacrifice themselves happily by swallowing the grubs who must in turn use his body as a cocoon as they transform into grubberflies.
You are ready to know. Each pantheon in Godhome has 4 bindings. They are not necessary to complete them or get Godhome's ending, but using the bindings grants lifeblood in future pantheon runs. And if you should complete the final pantheon with all bindings... You will breach something else entirely. Alas, I've toiled at this for months. Years. An eternity.
Congratulations on getting the endings for the Base game. The cleanup went pretty well, only 4 Grubs left before getting the Collector's map. There a couple more people you can gift Delicate Flowers, and some don't accept the gift, but give some lore. The White Lady and the Midwife have other things to say if you have certain Charms equipped. Think of Charms they could recognize. The Trial of the Fool, The Grim troupe and GodHome... You have your work cut out for you.
Trial of the Fool and Godhome will be streams on YT so the next video on Wednesday is my last HK episode 😭 Then onto the lore react, Silksong trailer react, and speed run react!!
Your reasoning for why the grubs are inside the grandfather grub is the strongest of any possibility, so, the most likely. Consider also that the bugs in the very next room incubate inside their mother, as evidenced by the end of the grub mother encounter early in the game.
There's still some lore dialogue you're missing with some NPCs like the Midwife and the Pale Lady. Quite a few NPCs have something to say in regards to specific charms :) There's probably no point in recording that since it's just few small bits, but I thought I'd just mention it in case you'd be interested of checking those out on your own time x)
Congrats on beating the Radiance! 🎉 You inspired me to try again and I beat her too The Grimm Troupe DLC is really fun! It’s my personal favorite part of the game😊
Good job on beating Radiance. It is at this point that most streamers/youtubers would do the ceremonial reaction to mossbag's "The (Mostly) Complete Lore of Hollow Knight". I'm really hoping you would take the time to do it and I'm pretty sure a lot of people here would love that as well.
Sophie, darling. Congratulations and thanks for having us with you along the way. What about some reaction videos now? I'd love to watch your reaction on the fireb0rn famous speed run and the lore one! ❤
Oh this isn't the final video! I still have Grimm Troupe DLC and Lore React :) Pantheons will be Stream Only but there are still 2 or 3 episodes left of HK! I can definitely add the speed run react to the list!
@@drsophiedarling I think the fireb0rn one is quite old at this point. There's some newer ones, quicker ones, even from him iirc, i think his 8th placed one he has now is not the "famous" one that people have reacted to in the past. But an any% speed run from him would be good, he's kinda the guy that most people go to if they want to watch a speedrun, if you google speedrun any % nmg hollow knight you can find the site which has the speed runs, though I guess fireb0rn's OG one that a lot of people have reacted to might just be on youtube. You might also want to finish finding your charms so you can collect an amazing reward ;)
If you want more hollow knight, I highly recommend the *Pale Court* mod. It's a fantastic, beautiful, fanmade expansion that lets you battle the pale king's loyal knights.
I'm so excited you found Godhome. You can now ascend to the final false ending, and the one true ending. But you didn't finish exploring Godhome when you left. And when you came out, you didn't finish explore the Junk Pit. Patience was probably wearing out by hour 4, lol.
No - more like I've made it clear in the video that I intend to save this for stream content so I had no intention of doing anything in relation to this area on video 😊
You have a good intuition, I fully believe the grub father ate the kids in my own playthrough. Until I saw how other people interpreted it in the internet. The god place thingy was indeed dlc. A dlc that I do not like at all. Insane grind in that one. Most people don't do it. I is the last dlc anyway so keep it for the end, try it out and then decide if you want to actually do it on video, on your own time or not at all. Personally, I don't think the amount of grind and dedication needed to finish that dlc is worth the hassle. But hey, we are all different and you might enjoy it, who knows !
I'm a sucker for challenge runs but I always loved streaming them because having the company can make it feel less like a grind and less mentally draining!! So I'm excited to see how it goes!!
Ive always wondered. What makes the difference of what Sheo + Nailsmith ending you see? Because Ive also seen the one when theyre sitting together making little models of the kings knights at the table :)
You finally did it, congratulations it was a great fight with Radiance. You learned all her moves and finally managed to dance. Ok with the last ending, now that the infection is gone, do you think you have saved myla?
@@drsophiedarling You can't after the ending you are no more but the infection is gone as well. You can only assume she also returned to normal but there might be a stage where infection is irreversible and she might be beyond that like she is nothing but a shell now. But I want to believe she is ok :)
@@onurozanyuksel Most husks are long dead corpses driven by the infection, but Myla's definitely still "alive" and wasn't "overcome" like the mossy vagabonds either. In other words, I think she's got good odds!
there is a fan theory that the babies will transform into another radiance, so i dont know if its a happy thing XD Also congrats, you are nearly there, now you just have the extra hard stuff left
I've never heard of this fan theory. Radiance is clearly a moth whereas the grubs turn into grubberflies. They dont seem to have any relation to the radiance or the moth tribe.
Hey, the one I would recommend for a few extra episodes would be the Pale Court mod. Adds fights and some lore-friendly bits with the 5 knights, and it's genuinely a labor of love. It's final challenge is on par with Godhome content, so I'd keep that part to streams, but otherwise it's a very pleasant experience.
I'm okay for now leaving the episodes where they are at for now. It's been 2 months of HK and I'm looking forward to exploring other games too. They'll be plenty of time to go back to the Pale Court mod and I will do eventually 😊💖
The pale court mod is amazing but they're VERY hard fights so it's really only something someone should do if they're really into fights. I played it a bit and loved seeing how they made the fights but I only ever watched others beat them, didnt go that hard myself because it's just not the most interesting part of HK to me.
The babies have not been eaten by his father, are guarded inside him for grow into butterflies. Its have resemblance at bugs in real life. Its a good thing, i need to tell you XD
I literally said that at the end of the video that it was an evolving stage?? I went into a whole analysis of the charm and the meaning of elegy haha! You aren't telling me anything that I didn't already say in the video :') I know they weren't eaten but I can understand how people would have different perceptions.
so rich episode. congratulation for the third ending :) and so many other achievements. that one boss head in godhome, i believe its final bos in coloseum. but maybe not :) i have never got him
@@drsophiedarlingBeing from Northern Ireland you might have missed my joke though because I don’t know how popular basketball is there. Did you get it?
You actually found out the truth about the Grubs, impressive. If you want something else positive to happen: Beat up Zote 2 more times. Or brighten up Elderbug's day. Or get all unbreakable charms and go play match maker. Or buy yourself a nice charm. Or...
I think it took me more tries to beat the Trial of the Fool than any boss in the game. And I've only managed to do it on one of my 3 playthroughs. So don't feel bad about having a hard time with it, it's ridiculous.
GodHome content will be streamed on Sunday's, as I mentioned in the video, but thought I'd mention it here too as there still seems to be questions regarding it 😅
I have no intention of filming it as an individual episode as the interest in seeing it has been minimal.
(There's a few key moments in particular I'd like to see your reaction to, but I won't spoil them)
@@MumboJ They'll exist as videos on the playlist. The streams will stay up on the channel so it'll be there for people to skim through
I wouldn't know what to edit down for it to be worthwhile for a single video, but I also knew this content, if recorded, could take months so the streams seem like a nice balance.

I did notice that!! How cute l!!
1:46:39 I love how we can see your brain working overtime to try and rationalize what you're seeing.
I had to just take a moment or I would have lost it 😂
I'm so happy you came to the grubberfly conclusion on your own! It's also implied by the achievement you get from collecting all the grubs, which is called "Metamorphosis". I definitely think that it was intended to be a happy ending for the grubs, and the grubfather fulfilling his role in life, allowing his children to move on and become full grown adults!
I definitely refuse to believe all of that was for a bad ending 🥺 happy ending for da babies!!
@@drsophiedarling There's quite a bit of proof to back up the parental pupation theory, so I'd definitely think it's a happy ending for the grubs, even if it might look bad at first x3
I think it was meant to shock the player a little at first, and those who look more into it are rewarded with a relief :')
Omg it's so fascinatingly creepy!!
Ahaha! Well done.
DA MOTH IS GONE!!
Yep, you got it. The grubs/grubfather are going to metamorphize. It's probably what the Collector was trying to protect them from, but at the end of the day this is just part of their nature. Good job on finding all the babies!
PROTECT THEM?! I don't think The Collector was protecting anyone >.< he's a menace!
Now we wait for Hollow Knight: Silksong. More tears, more fears, more love, more fun.
I still need to watch the trailer!!
I've been waiting so long for Silksong... but it'll be worth it. I believe!
@@NeoNineOne We must...believe!!

seamless, didn't notice a thing lol
grats! I'm delighted you went and found what the Nailsmith gets up to. See, it's not all gloom! and the elderbug remains a treasure
isn't it wild that the endings are like, 5 seconds long, but still somehow really appropriate?
It's been such an amazing amazing experience 🥺💖
YOU CAN GIVE THE FLOWER TO THE ELDERBUG? OMG!! Mindblown.
You can also give it to several other characters. Tho now she will need to take them from the grave, not from Mourner
Right?! I'm so glad it worked for him!!
That look of betrayal when visiting the grubs again
I was SEETHING - I was hoping for something super cute to happen!!
@@drsophiedarling me too 😭. I had walked away and sat outside for 5 minutes thinking about all that time spent bringing them home lol
Metamorphosis _could_ refer to the Grubfather becoming a cocoon for his young though, or to the Grubs starting their metamorphosis into their next form, whatever that may be.
congratulations on beating hollow knight, honestly the dream no more ending is heart breaking but so rewarding
Right?! I have cried so much at this game. It's not even funny!
Your reaction is the best, it really invokes emotion in me, it reminded me when I first played the game, thank you for the memories
Next time you're in Queens Station, now that you have the Monarch Wings you can actually jump up to watch Willoh eat. It's a minor hidden thing but cute and only takes a few secs.
I did that many episodes ago 😊

1:06:58 you can bring to her some charms (Grimm's and Ogrim's and maybe others) and the flower to see new dialogues.
1:46:37 your reaction is brilliant!
OH YOU CAN?! Gah - I'll have to go back at some point!
Finally!! The collector. That's my favorite non dream boss. I just love how crazy he is and the psycho laugh. Plus you get the grub map after beating him. Good luck with the Grimm DLC! I'll be watching
He's an absolute menace!! But it now makes sense why we find the Grubbs strewn across Hallownest in jars! He hasn't come back for them yet!
Congratulations for defeating the Radiance
This ending is so beautiful and sad at the same time❤
Thank you lovely!!
Well done with this "true ending" achievement! Team cherry has said there is no true ending but this is basically considered true ending by the community. It's definitely the best ending out of all of them imo. Now follows my tldr :')
It is very sad for us the player because we've spent so much time with this little creature, even if it doesnt talk you still connect to it but at the same time, this is probably the best ending it could have considering how it was conceived.
(I admit I also just can't resist a mentally ill character XD Regardless exactly what's up with its mind, we know it's not quite right)
I think the boss you're missing on the door in Godhome is a dream warrior in Fungal Wastes.
Thank you lovely!! Honestly, the Collector is a very bizarre individual but so funny too!! The fact he puts your shade in a jar when you die to him is just hilarious!
If you want more from the happy couple, reenter Sheo and Nailsmith's hut. (This could take multiple times entering.)
And he's all resigned to never being appreciated but then so delighted when you pay him respect!!

I want to hate him but he's doing good by his kids!
Really powerful. thank you
It's so intense isn't it but amazing!!

It absolutely hits hard but I absolutely love it 😭💖
An amazing episode Sophie!

I also loved all your reactions to each new stage of Colosseum 3! I believe you will be able to tackle it!
If you want to know where the final charms are (space for hints/spoilers):
you'll find one in the Infected Crossroads (in an area you couldn't reach early on)
you'll find the other behind a hidden wall in the Crystal Peaks - there's a miner in the way (but not Myla, who is going to be totally fine)
Ah thank you for the heads up on the final charms!! I'll have to grab them at some point!!
delightful! i was very glad to go on this hollow knight journey with you. so happy to hear you like the game!
I absolutely love this game. It's on my list of top 10 games that I've played now!!
grubberfly's elegy is so useful.
That's really good to know! Thank you!
something i find interesting with hollow knight is the cosmic horror aspect. of course its not a game about space, but if you compare radiance to a Lovecraftian eldritch being like yog sothoth or Nyarllathotep, the Radiance bends the minds of those who look upon it in their dreams to its will and often drives them mad. alot of people dont know this, but in the lore of lovecraft, if your mind is strong you can look upon the eldritch and not go mad. you only need a strong enough will. anyway, the eldritch beings are indescribable as the words necessary to describe them, do not exist. so giving creatures like Cthulhu descriptive words like "tentacles and waxy skin" do not actually do it justice, because we are only able to use simile to compare it to something we understand. but there isnt anything to compare them to.
we can describe the Radiance as a moth, but it isnt one. because the Moth tribe exist in Hollow Knight. seer is a moth herself. and we see one in the grave as an essence spirit.
we can describe Cthulhu as an octopus, but it isnt one.
in the lord of the rings, there is a Maia spirit or what we believe is a maia spirit by the name of Ungoliant. ungoliant is the mother of the famous Shelob. the spider in the caves surrounding Mordor in the films. ungoliant and shelob are described as having Spider like features. but they are not spiders. they are something else and other worldly. there are also a race of creatures called the Nameless Things. that are found in the mines of Moria. and they are said to have been on middle earth, since the before the songs of ainur. which isnt possible because the songs created the universe.
i like to believe Radiance is a being like this
I actually like that concept.
Very similar to Bloodborne in the sense that these creatures often resemble dogs or animals in general, but they're far from it.
Similar to The Watcher in The Water in The Fellowship of the Ring which looks like a kraken but is NOT a kraken. It's a higher being of some sort!! 💖
@@drsophiedarling the watcher in the water is one of the nameless things i believe.
@@drsophiedarlingoh! so i play Magic the Gathering. in its multiverse the different sets of the game take place in completely seperate realities. these Realities are called Planes. and there are being who can walk between these realms called Planeswalkers. probably the most famous planeswalker is Jace Beleren. in between each plane is a realm called The Blind Eternities . the Blind Eternities have no volume, time, or space. they are merely a barrier with no width or diameter between other planes. in the multiverse of magic exist beings known as the Eldrazi. and they come from 3 beings, Kozilek, Emrakul, and Ulamog. being near the titans conscripts you into the eldrazi horde, even just by looking. the 3 Beings are known as the Eldrazi Titans, and they lack a physical form in the common sense. instead, they exist in the realm of the Blind Eternities between planes, and when Ugin, another planeswalker, described them to Jace uppn the titan invasion, quote:
*"The Eldrazi titans do not dwell in physical space," said Ugin. "They are creatures of the Blind Eternities, and it is in the Eternities that they remain."
"Until they manifest physically, you mean?"
"No," said Ugin. "I meant what I said. Ulamog remains in the Eternities."
"Then what did I see heading toward Sea Gate?"
"You saw a portion of him," said Ugin. "A projection. Imagine that you reach your hand into a pond. The fish below the surface sees a five-headed monster, and cannot perceive the man attached to it. It mistakes a hangnail for an eye because the truth is beyond its imagining. You see?"*
radiance could be like this. a being outside reality, manifesting as an infectiob

Right?! The minute the song started I felt myself getting emotional!!

Looking forward to ur streams, it's honestly probably the best format for trying to get them, it's a good call. Best of luck!!
Thank you lovely! Yeah I thought the streams would be best since the other content takes a lot longer than the individual episodes!!
Well done with the flower as well, I always assume it will take me at least 3 tries lol
No spoilers but there are others you can gives flowers too besides Elder Bug. You can get unlimited flowers from the grave now if you wish.
1:45:30 "Do I have to come back?" HAHAHAHAHA She doesn't know!
1:46:35 Now she knows! lol
It's just a bittersweet ending but omg it's just wonderful. I started tearing up the minute the music started!!
1:40 the character you're not recognizing is a warrior dream in fungal wastes :)
in case you want to know the areas the missing charms reside (If not, don't read any further xD)
those are as follows:
King's pass
Crystal peaks
Edit, I goofed up! I saw wrong, the other missing charm is in infected crossroads! Sorry for miss information x'3333
19:38 That noise is me when my husband tries to have some of my snacks
I MEAN THAT'S A MOOD!
Lol, loved your initial shcoked reaction to the grubfather! The achievement for recovering all the grubs is metamorphosis, so it would appear that grubfathers sacrifice themselves happily by swallowing the grubs who must in turn use his body as a cocoon as they transform into grubberflies.
My brain was taking a moment to try and figure it out like "pls no"
@@drsophiedarling Pretty sure they're ok and the grubfather seems happy to sacrifice himself for his babies.
The knight outside the queen's refuge is named Dryya.
1:57 welcome to the team!!! 😁
The 5 knights are:
Mighty Hegemol
Fierce Dryya (knight outside White Lady’s hut)
Kindly Isma
Mysterious Ze'mer (Grey Mourner)
Ogrim (Dung Defender)
You are ready to know. Each pantheon in Godhome has 4 bindings. They are not necessary to complete them or get Godhome's ending, but using the bindings grants lifeblood in future pantheon runs. And if you should complete the final pantheon with all bindings... You will breach something else entirely. Alas, I've toiled at this for months. Years. An eternity.
OHHHH that's good to know! Thank you Iggy!
Yeah, the primal aspid is probably the single most-hated enemy in the game (though the crystal hunters are, ime, a VERY close second).
Crystal Hunters would be most hated if they appeared more than in one area, imho
The White Lady has some touching dialog if you visit her with the Defender's Crest. She's very fond of Ogrim.
The grubs aren't dead! Its part of their life cycle that they'll be born again
There's still some lore dialogue you're missing with some NPCs like the Midwife and the Pale Lady. Quite a few NPCs have something to say in regards to specific charms :)
There's probably no point in recording that since it's just few small bits, but I thought I'd just mention it in case you'd be interested of checking those out on your own time x)
Congrats on beating the Radiance! 🎉
You inspired me to try again and I beat her too
The Grimm Troupe DLC is really fun! It’s my personal favorite part of the game😊
AH LET’S GO SALLY!! THAT'S AMAZING!!
Worth the wait!
Ah I'm glad!!
It will be what I do next after the release of Ep.25 which is the final final recorded content :)
1:46:34 lmaooooooooo 🤣🤣🤣
(i'm glad that you got past your original reaction to find the truth ;) )
Sophie, darling. Congratulations and thanks for having us with you along the way.
What about some reaction videos now? I'd love to watch your reaction on the fireb0rn famous speed run and the lore one! ❤
Oh this isn't the final video! I still have Grimm Troupe DLC and Lore React :) Pantheons will be Stream Only but there are still 2 or 3 episodes left of HK! I can definitely add the speed run react to the list!
@@drsophiedarling those will all be awesome!
You did what I could not. Dang Moth!
KICKED THAT MOTH TO THE DUST!!
You did it! Be proud, it was a great run 😊
Thank you so much!!
wow, well done. You're crushing this game.
Thank you so much!!
GG on Radiance! That really is a tough fight.
If you want more hollow knight, I highly recommend the *Pale Court* mod. It's a fantastic, beautiful, fanmade expansion that lets you battle the pale king's loyal knights.
I'll be coming back to the DLC at some point but for now, I'm content to move on to other LP's 😊❤️
There is an area in godhome that has hints on where to find all the bosses you have missed
The Knight near the White Lady is Dryya. And the Grey Mourner's name is Ze'mer.
the dream no more ending is so sad.. at least it's better than sealed siblings and hornet is okay
So much better than the other 2 endings!!
I'm worried if I go back she's still infected :') I want to gaslight myself into thinking that she's saved!
Yooo the eyeshadow is so pretty again!
AW THANK YOU!!
there is a fan theory that the babies will transform into another radiance, so i dont know if its a happy thing XD Also congrats, you are nearly there, now you just have the extra hard stuff left
OH REALLY?! WELP!!
I've never heard of this fan theory. Radiance is clearly a moth whereas the grubs turn into grubberflies. They dont seem to have any relation to the radiance or the moth tribe.
@@giuf175 yeah, but there's a tablet in game with like a Gruber baby in a weird position and some people think it depicts that transformation
You did round up a lot things. Grub father being on of them 😅
The collector is easily one of the hardest bosses with no nail upgrades
The babies have not been eaten by his father, are guarded inside him for grow into butterflies. Its have resemblance at bugs in real life. Its a good thing, i need to tell you XD
I literally said that at the end of the video that it was an evolving stage?? I went into a whole analysis of the charm and the meaning of elegy haha! You aren't telling me anything that I didn't already say in the video :')
I know they weren't eaten but I can understand how people would have different perceptions.
so rich episode. congratulation for the third ending :) and so many other achievements. that one boss head in godhome, i believe its final bos in coloseum. but maybe not :) i have never got him
Woo! you did it!
Should your new nickname be Cheeky Heal O’Neal?😂😂😂😂😂
I'll take it 😂
@@drsophiedarlingBeing from Northern Ireland you might have missed my joke though because I don’t know how popular basketball is there. Did you get it?
You found the Midwife!!! But don't you want to see the Menderbug?.....
It was a "wtf is this please no"
1:46:36 Priceless
