I met my Filipina 12 years ago... it's been the best 12 year of my life. We met at work, I had a massive crush on her from the first moment I met her, the feelings were not mutual! We started dating and I fell in love pretty much straight away and we discussed marriage less than 6 months later. We were married a year after we started dating and found out she was pregnant the day after the wedding!!! We've been married for 11 years now with two beautiful girls. She is an amazing woman, I'm so lucky and proud to be her husband and my love for her grows everyday. She works night occasionally, it's a very lonely and long night without her.

    I have something to share:
I provide well for us. I'm a westerner, and we married a few years ago.
My Filipina wife is completely out of control. She tries to dominate me in every situation and anything I say becomes a complete rage moment from her. I'm not joking, I can't even really speak because she will find some fault (which isn't there) and start screaming, yelling, smashing things, etc. It's just an excuse for her to attack me which she must take great pleasure in. She refuses to control her emotions and seek help.
After her cyclical emotional outbursts, it becomes weeks of no talking with commands and orders (from texts).
She treats me like garbage every day. She uses me and emotionally abuses me every day. She doesn't recognize me as a human being. She sees no fault in this and refuses to listen to my needs and even look at me.
I only stay for my two small children (I think she resents them).
I've tried everything with her. I am lost. I can't take the abuse, but I have to stay because I know I will never see my kids again.
    I am so sad.
I am not religious, but please pray for me and my family.

Honestly I'm about to marry a Filipina and I've always sort of naturally have had the Filipino culture's take on relationships where you meet a person and fall in love and stay with them for life. In that mindset that I have as well, I want to take care of her and even pamper her and treat her like the blessing she is in my life, so I intend to do what I always have in life - Clean up after myself to lessen any burdens to her, be a mushy romantic and to cook for her. Remember, if you love someone with your heart and soul - express it by going above and beyond in even the most mundane tasks that can be a chore, she'll notice it and you'll be her hero in more ways than one. Happy wife, happy life.

i could, at least, approximate the main reason why she treats you that good...it's coz you're a jockpot to her (as if she's won lotto's jockpot price)...the reason is that in the Philippines it is very very seldom that an older woman finds a younger husband...she could be older than her man but only by 1 or 2 years...if an older lady marries a younger guy than her by more than 5 years, her friends would usually tease her, saying, "what potion or spell had you put on him that he liked you?"...or they would say, "are you sure your man knows about numbers...or, is he not really blind?"...and because you decided to love her despite the large age gap, she will surely give her all to you till death so you'll be happy all your life in every way...its a way of saying how grateful she is to have you in her life despite her age...

An incredibly sweet and completely accurate video. Everything both of you said was familiar to me. From the cooking, to the cleaning of the bathroom, to the issues of family. All of it were right on.
While my Fiilipina wife and I lived in the USA, we placed MagicJacks (IP Phones) in the Philippines with my wife's family. Our Verizon cell phones allowed unlimited calling and so all day long, my wife, with a bluetooth headphone in her ear was talking to family in the Philippines. It was nonstop for years.
We finally moved to the Philippines and now she doesn't need to call them as they are here, in our house, even it they live a few minutes away, though some actually now live with us.
Oh, and I had a beard with I met my wife. By the second year, she threatened to cut it off in my sleep if I didn't get rid of it. I have been wearing a beard for forty years when it was shaved off. All my American friends thought that was a big mistake. All my Filipino family and friends were happy. Go figure.

I married a Philipina six years ago. Best change in my life ever. I love her. The food she eats! NAAAWWW. I won't eat most of what she eats. Allergic to fish. I actually learned to tolerate rice as long as it isn't the main course. But she makes sure I have what I like to eat everyday. I clean the bathroom. She is devoted to family and as you said always on Facebook and Facetime. All in all the love of my life. By the way. My wife hates a beard. I had one when we met. She calls it sandpaper. If I let mine grow to what yours is, she'd shave it off in my sleep.

Filipinas are naturaly beautiful and dont need to change. The skin shaming phenomenon is prevalent all over the world because of greed alone. Companies advertise and market beauty products that exploit a cultures self image issues in an effort to "make money" and sell products. Many people pay to be tan and I love how beautiful and perfect Filipina skin is without any product or tan what so ever. Be proud to be Pinoy and ignore harmful marketing and advertising that says you are not absolutely beautiful inside and out!

All the things you said are true .The Filipinos love their family to a fault, so when problems come along with a family member sometimes they prefer to ignore the problem and brush it under the carpet hoping it goes away ,then when you as a foreigner intervene and try to address the problem you become the problem.

Congratulations . You to look happy together , and that's most important thing . I will be traveling back to Dumaguete for the third time here in about a month . This will be the third time that I've been there to visit my fiancé and her little boy . They are the two most wonderful people I've ever met in my life , and I can't imagine my life without them. My predicament is I want to get married in the Philippines . I thought about getting the K-1 visa and getting married here . But I want her to have the wedding that she has always wanted . I want her to be at home , with her friends and family . I don't want her to feel like she's a million miles from home trying to start a new life with me . I know my fiancé has to get a certificate of no marriage . And as far as I know I have to have one as well . Is this something that I have to do while I'm in the Philippines with her , or can I do it here in the United States before I travel to the Philippines? Any information that you can provide would be so helpful . I am leaving on November 29, 2016 , and I plan on being there in Dumaguete for at least three to six months . After that I will start the process of filing for her spousal visa so she can come here . I am looking forward to hearing from you soon .

Tim if you want to marry her in the Philippines, Filipina doesnt need certification to get married it is you who need one. I say this to you because was married there me and my hubby went to Cebu to get the certification. However if you want to bring your fiancee fast here in the state or wherever you live I suggest get a fiancee visa instead of spousal it takes longer to process the spousal but its comes with a freebis tho when she get her permanent card it lasted for 10 years. Now if she have a fiancee visa then marrying her in the state she get a 2 year permanent card then after the two years shell have to renew to get 10 yrs.Hope I help you a little good day.

I worked with a woman once who was Filipino and pregnant. She was married to a white guy and she didn't have friends so we decided to throw her a baby shower. I said I'd get the cake and when she saw it she started crying and asked why I put a brown baby on top of it (that's how I ordered it). I didn't know what to say.... her husband said that where she's from the dark skin is a sign of lower class whereas the light skin is a sign of higher class, non outside/field worker etc and that she uses cream to lighten her skin. So I had him tell her afterwards that they were all out of white babies so they had to use the brown one :/

Speaking as a Filipino who grew up in the Philippines. If you come from a higher class of the society you wont really care about your skin color coz you have other features, assets and accomplishments to be proud of. But if skin color is all that's important to you it means you come from a lower class or you ain't nothing. Skin color is not all that. She was indeed very shallow about it.

And yes, I've had my beard for the 44 years we've been married. But as my wife noted, if you're Filipina you'll know you've been assimilated when you begin dreaming in English. I am a filipina aswell,it's been 5 months now since i moved here in UK,but i don't use fish sauce and soy sauce for my husband, coz it's a way too salty and bad for his health. And i did make an adjustment for my own food and their food aswell, coz this is not my country and i don't want my hubby to adjust for me aswell,,And i don't see any dirt on my brown color i am proud of it,loads of people here paid to achieve it😊and i work on my own just to support my family,my husband wants to do it, but i do it on my own.I felt bad for the other white guys who paid for everything for their wives.😂For me they are not an atm, work ur ass of!fand never rely on him and also for those who only after their green card,i believe in karma, and that is disgusting, although i understand why they do that due to poverty but why not find a man you can love too..just do not fvcking cheat and leave them behind after feeding and givin you everything and a better life, when i think about that,it makes me wanna think that i wish that i am not filipina, because of what they do,now most white men thinks that everyone is just the same.,just like marrying a white men because of money, what a shame! If you grew up poor, try to find a way to be wealthy or have a simple life, not being materialistic and gotta have expensive things that u can show up on ur plastic friends..,well,i always notice that in loads of filipina who married a white men and they think they are rich already..stuck up nose and their attitude change.,although there is nothing in the brain, and just paid by her husband from the fvcking bar.Always foot ur feet on the ground specially if ur husband is 70 year old😂and u are 20..my comment is long now😂sorry just saying, and i apologize for my english..i am still adjusting!😂

Im a Filipina and my skin color varies (?) lol. when i am home, i get darker. when im in a country with winter, i get lighter. The reason why some filipinos want to have white skin is because of discrimination. Lighter colour people will get discriminated in a good way but if you're dark.. Probably goes back to the Spanish times. Not all Filipinos sre like that though. Your wife is very striking and very beautiful.

Historically, yes. If you can recall that as well. Being white also applies to other Asian countries. Like, for example, in Korea many revere the white and fair complexion because, historically, being white means that you're an aristocrat and had not worked in the field. As for variety of skin color (mentioned earlier in your statement), there are many factors that may contribute to the skin color such as genes, DNA, demographics, etc.

Nah, it s weird Filipino blames spaniards of everything,...
We re simply never satisfied...White people can t wait to be on holliday and fry on the beach, a too white westerner is like unheatlhy too looks sick and not getting out enough…We complain about our long nose, some about being too tall, then you will realize they bend their shoulders to the front as well as their neck,...
In south east asia, all want to be fair, most of the stars are mix, ...So they have a different history, and yet still wish the same complexion and features, ...No spaniards in Thailand, Indonesia, etc...
It is a good thing no? So we are attracted by our opposites :D

Stupid, the Spanish people are NOT dark or black. The true is that philipinas want to scape poverty and they look for a way to emigrate to other countries, they don't really like to live in their country. Also they will go to bed with a man for a meal.

@@lindakazsals8858 , it seems, that you have encountered bad experience with a Filipina. It is not fair to generalize that all Filipinas are the same in character or their deeds. I am a Filipino, and I have also experienced by being mulcted, lost my savings by a fellow Filipina who also dig pockets, as I am a seaman by profession. But I never accuses or prejudged that all Filipina girl are the same, the fault of Maria is not a fault of Janice!!! Perhaps it has to do of her breeding or upbringing of her family background. And there are still a lot of Filipina woman out there who are faithfull, nice, and a good wife.

I was once married to a Filipina. What Ive learned is that marrage is not for everyone. Ive learned many things about me and a real philosophical understanding of life. You see lot of men are hell bent of reaching the world to find someone, the problem is that we as individuals dont spend enough time understanding our selfs first. When we go look for someone to meet with we are really just running away from our selfs. Let me give you an example: Isnt it strange that when a marriage ends and the two individuals separate they both remain the same person they were when they first met one another? THERE IS NO SELF IMPROVEMENT. The whole relationship was just to be with another person. Hoping that maybe they would help fix you and you would help fix them. The key word is HOPE and most of the time people meet and they have no intention on self improvement! Relationships as a whole are just temporary fixes to both the individuals and we keep going around in circles all our lives.. never REALLY changing or improving. I mean we do change and improve as we age, but theres no real enlightenment. So in reality subconsciously we are running away from our selfs. WE as a race need to look inward.. before we reach outward and I bet that when we find that something in us we may not need to be in any relationships. In time we will find that right somebody. In time. First fix YOU. Thats my message to the world. We can have friends, but It could be a whole new era for us.

Jason Sprouse You sound bitter you must be a lonely guy. That wouldn't be enough to make the relationship succesful so it's pretty clear people are marrying that love each other.

Brett Guyer I dont think he meant it makes for a successful relationship. He does have a point though, many do marry foreigners for a much better life instead of love. Its sad but true.

jocar Jocar you are also correct. There are many Filipinas that genuinely choose a white guy for that reason. But Jason is also correct, many do it for financial gain, so do women from other nationalities.
