In the 1980 there was a big issue about this and the Philippines government and US Government worked together to address this issue. There was a big age gap of 50 years on so many relationships that what happened was both government took a stand. Before you got married they would interview both separately and see if they really knew each other...what was her middle name...what was his favorite color? And if they didn't match then the visa was not approved...in some way this really changed the big age gap difference. All that being said it was also a time when pilipina wanted to go to the US for work and this was not a issue of a expats moving to the Philippines right away

I corresponded with my Filipina at least 6 months before going to the Philippines to meet. She was from Almeria, but working in Manila. Very sweet beautiful girl. I think the women from the provinces are most traditional. The thing about not rushing into a relationship, is that you have months to gain knowledge of the person. This is a very seroius thing, so you make note of everything the she says. If she is not being up front with you, that will come through over time, because only truth is eternal, stories change. My Filipina never deviated in the things she said, so she appeared to be the real deal. Yes, I was twice her age, but I did not have any children, that was a priority for me. We have been married 15 years now, I helped her through nursing school here. Find a good Filipina, and she will give you everything a man needs. Even the most elusive thing from an American gal, serenity, peace. I can truthfully say it was the best decision of my life. My avitar is our youngest.

I have a home in General Santos city. I am just a two minute walk from Manny Pacquiao’s home. I met my Filipino wife through a friend, and corresponded for almost a year before I travel to the Philippines to meet her. There is a 22 year difference our age. But once I met her and her family, and so I just out incredibly mature, responsible and reliable she was, I decided to start dating her seriously. She very much enjoys the traditional role of housekeeper, caretaker, and preparing meals. She had a son by previous relationship and the father abandoned them. We’ve been married almost 30 years, and I raised her son as my own. We purchased a home in general Santa city and invited her parents to live in it while we were in America. Thanks to her and her family. I have had a wonderful life. If an American dates a Filipina with dignity and respect, the family will accept them. It is quite traditional for a husband of a Filipino wife to send a little bit of money home each month just to help the family. $200 a month and the Philippines goes along, traveling to the Philippines on holidays is such a wonderful experience.

I tried to send money for birthday and Christmas but western union gave me fraud alert and shut me down. She called me crying which i thought was odd. In that time of our socializing she tattooed her husband's name on her arm along with her daughters and later did a music video about her and her husband. Never once posted anything about me or us. I video chatted with a Filipina for 2 months. She was great, we had fun chatting. I was clear from the start "just friends". She caught feelings a couple times, I reminded her "friends only" and she would calm down.
BUTT, and it's big BUTT, 1-3 hours chatting everyday was 1-3 hours I should have been doing other things.
And I'm aware online is a fantasy. Of course it's fun. You never have to make any decisions like where to eat. Always relaxed and focused. Real life is nothing like that.
The other giant issue is it gets the carabao before the cart. When a guy finds a Filipina online and then moves to PH he is almost always locked into living close to her family. I want to explore and find where I want to try living before looking for a Filipina.
So I shut down the chatting and I stayed off dating site.

She's so beautiful - that she can have any guy she wants. It's like we were made for each other. We both couldn't be more in love - and we plan on having two kids. *_She connected with me_* - on Facebook - and the rest is history.

I’ve been married for 8 years to my wife. There is a 22 (YES, 22) year age gap between us. I am very blessed that I have found someone who I love very much and plan to spend the rest of my life with.
Your analysis is pretty much spot on. One thing you didn’t mention is that in some cases an older man and younger woman are on the same maturity level. That can be a good or bad thing. In our case, we have been fortunate because my wife and I enjoy the same things. We are both homebody’s, we have many of the same interests e.g. music, tv, movies, food (she loves to cook and I love to eat LOL), politics (most of the time😉) and family. I love her sense of humor. And she (bless her heart) finds me entertaining as well.
Prior to our meeting, I was married for almost 25 years 😱 to a woman who immigrated to the states, from the Philippines, 4 years before I met her. And while she gave me 2 beautiful children, our marriage was difficult from the start. She was, in my opinion, a high maintenance person who had insecurity issues going back to her childhood. Ultimately, we (thankfully) ended our marriage while we were still young enough to move on with our lives. It was a difficult transition that left some scars but it was very much for the best.
I guess what I really want to say is that there is someone for everyone. And in my case, my one and only was born 22 years apart from me. And for those who are curious. I just turned 60 and I met my soon to be wife when I was 48. And I have told her that she is the one I have waited for all my life. Thank you for allowing me to share. And always remember that haters are always going to hate. God bless and good luck.

Rarely discussed... what happens to the Filipina when the old goat drops dead ? At least for Americans...it could be decades until she gets social security survivor benefits. There is rarely discussion about the importance of the foreigner legally adopting the woman's kiddos. So they can get survivor benefits until they are 18, or out of college. I would not be able to engage in a relationship with a younger woman if I wasn't confident that there was sufficient resources available to support her after I die.

All eminently sensible. The changes from the past are toxic, as you say, with foreigners, in particular, playing around when they go there with little or no intention of a lasting relationship. The result is that Filipino women are often far more cautious about dating foreigners who are in the Philippines.

    • @conservativefilipina
      @conservativefilipina  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

It's easy to get overwhelmed with options once you are already in the country. One advantage of talking to someone long distance is that, there is a physical barrier that allows both parties to focus on getting to know each other without distractions (i.e. being physically intimate). Of course, there's pros and cons to an LDR, too.
Social media doesn't help, with others encouraging other men to explore first rather than taking the serious route (courtship that leads to marriage).
This doesn't apply to everyone, I'm sure some foreigners already in PH are genuinely looking for a serious relationship. On the other hand, those who are just visiting don't have any intentions of getting into a relationship at all. But a friend said, she noticed that there's seems to be an influx of the dating type. Meaning not wanting to get married.
      I appreciate the feedback. Thanks!

    Great day
I hope all is going well. I have a question about filipinas that has been bothering me for quite sometime and thought you might be able to bring some clarity for me.
Why is it that Filipinas never talk about how their foreigner husband's or boyfriends helped them out of poverty and/or changed their lives, and family's lives. They helped to break the cycle of poverty, or at the very least raised their standard of living to one they could never imagine or attain on their own. You always see videos on foreigners praising the filipina, but never see Filipinas giving the foreigner any type of recognition. I have only ever seen one guy on TH-cam talk about this, and he was asking the same question.
They are quick to post what they have gotten from the foreigner on Facebook, but never mention how they got it or give at least some credit to the foreigner. It like they think they are entitled to it. It's just not right, and someone needs to talk about it.

      @conservativefilipina  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

Hi there! Thank you for your question, I always appreciate the feedback!
You've made a very good point! Filipinas should talk about this (including myself). Majority of Filipinas are very appreciative of their husband's help, they just don't talk about it on the internet. I guess I could take the lead in doing that. Thank you for bringing that up! It is a very good idea.
When it comes to the issue of entitlement: Unfortunately, that is rooted deep into the Filipino culture. I can probably explain this better on a separate video, but this is very similar to those who think we should adhere to wealth distribution. It means if you're the one who's well off, then you are expected to pay for everybody. And if you're a foreigner, they automatically think you are rich so there you go haha. Most Filipinos who work abroad deal with this issue with their families and extended relatives. This is one of the main reasons why the country remains to be poor. And if you happen to speak up about this, you're the bad guy. I hope you get the gist of where I'm going with this. I hope this explains it. Thanks for watching and for talking the time to comment!

You touched upon some important points. I have some experience with Philippines; first trying to find romance, then changed my attitudes and now perhaps not really that much interested in anything serious there. What was the problem, for me? Well, I find the people there to be so casual and living with the moments; not saying that is bad or not, but it did not work for me. I met a girl for serious relationship and met her big family and friends. They did not even ask single question about my family, my thoughts, my expectations and my thinking. This laid back, casual attitude and approach makes finding girls there for fun easy but for serious matter really hard. Now things are getting worse, because as you said they learnt the trade and dating sites are flooded with girls looking for fun in return for money!

What I do not understand is why any man would want to get married after 50? Marriage is for building a life together (in their 20s, not 50s) and having children. If he wants companionship, he can get that without the legal restraints that limits him in a marriage relationship. I have always believed relationships have a shelf life. They eventually run their course and both sides are stuck unfulfilled once it does. If the man is over the age of 65, he is looking for a full time nurse and he knows he can get a younger woman in the Philippines who will accept him. Why not just be up front, pay her a flat fee each month, and if things go bad, they part ways?

You know I heard you make a comment 30 seconds into your video that seems to be a cliche with many bloggers. Older men
want younger women because of her youth and beauty and we know that looks fade over time. First rather then answering the
question as to why with your opinion have you ever asked older foreigners that question? Not one or two but a good sample.
Yes no doubt any man of any age (and woman for that matter) appreciates what is pleasing to the eyes. But to say that is the
driving force for them (most) is foolish and belittling to men. Looks may draw him but personality and character its what
will hold him. She is (hopefully) less jaded and scarred with a lifetime of failed relationships and life disappointments then a older
woman and he could maybe save her from ever going through that because he has lifetime knowledge. Also he is able to do things
that he could never do when he was younger because he is financially stable and he has time and wisdom on his side. As far
as her "beauty fading with time" goes. First if he is in his 60's, 70's and she is anywhere from mid 20's to I would say early 40's,
chances are he will fade from this life before his Filipina's beauty fades. More importantly physical beauty and attraction is
more important in the beginning then later. When you are with a good person as time goes on you see the inner beauty or ugliness
more than the outer. Sorry for making this so long, but I have been seeing this statement made over and over again and felt I had to
    sayh something.

sometimes it's not "playing around" but rather that we date to really get to know each other. However, the Filipina may be ready to be in a serious relationship NOW, planning the future, etc., after just a few dates and even speaking about love. Most western men are more cautious and looking for real compatibility, so we move into serious relationships more slowly. So our very seriousness about being with the right woman gives her the impression of not being serious. Hmmmmmm I think men and women are basically incompatible, but we are compelled to seek each other out because God is obviously a prankster!!

For my part, if I come to the Philippines, it is to find a woman younger than me (between 29 and 45 years old) and to get married.
Like many Westerners, the Filipino woman still has these intrinsic values that make her a sought-after woman as you described in your clip and it is precious (for us, Western men)
I think that the best thing is also to go where there are fewer Westerners in order to create a feeling of novelty, of attractiveness for the Filipino woman, I had good information on the city of Davao. Do you have other cities to recommend that are less frequented by tourists ?

Well, I can tell you this. There's one definite way you can find out if She just wants to get out of the Philippines. And it's not for true love. Tell her during the dating process. You'd eventually like to move to a nice area of the philippines

My family picked me. I was skeptical. Because 40 years old and 65 years old. I don't know what I would do without them. But it's not easy. I want them to come here so that I can pass my home on to them. I don't meet the income requirements to do K1 visa. I spent 1 month with her in Philippines but may never see her again but will support my wife and a daughter in high school until I die.❤

I told my wife before we married that I wanted to retire in the Philippines. She stayed there 10 years and was able to send money to the family but she realized the life in the US was hard. Get up, work, get home, ear sleep, repeat. Weekends, shop grocery, wash dry clothing, clean house, repeat. Not a lot of time to enjoy. She made more money but realized had to spend money.

Awesome video. I absolutely agree with you. I tell men my age at 57-year-old dont send money to women you never met. I lived in Phillipines and yes its poverty and money is hard to come by. Alot of women would prefer 🤔 fillipino men. But they will take a older foreigner to help them financially. Great video.

Most Filipino prefer Filipino men? Thats not always. Young Filipinos will date a young foreigners black or white over Filipino men but the problem is theres very few young foreign men because they have no income and is very unstable. They end up going back to the states just to survive. And they may not be patient enough to wait on immigration. Its a catch 22

Interesting topic. I believe that a lot of educated women in Asia over thirty have a tough time marrying guys in their age group because the Asian guys in their country want younger ladies. Probably some real gems in the over 30 category that might appreciate/consider an educated older Western guy.

It's not just the Philippines, but other not western countries that the age gap is normal. Thru all of history, women always searched for an established man 10-20 years her senior.... it made sense, he got fertility, yourh and beauty, she got provisions, protection and stability...
My only issue with a Filipina is that when you bring up culture or beliefs, they can't or mostly won't accept polygyny, even if you bring up the history of small tribes and multiple wives pre-spaniah invasion or that the T'Boli peoples still live that way. Three wives to a husband
