This is the best video I have seen for replacing the fabric. I have done it before and needed a refresher for the corners and you stuck to the point. NO extra story telling and it was very simple! I loved it ! Thank you!
After watching countless videos and shorts that never want to disclose details such as name of paint, materials used and tools. Finally! Thank you much!
Here's one tip from an old timer. When stapling the fabric, and to avoid pluckers, wrap your fabric around a foot long ruler or thick paint stirring stick. Pull tight and staple 6" at a time. Without this you may pull too tight in one place and too loose next. Try it and you'll get straight and evenly tight sides. This is especially important using 2" and thicker foam.
I wish you could do all “How to videos!” You did it so professional with the most understanding voice and I was able to follow along without skipping the story tale! I realize I’m a few years ahead. Had to give you a complement from the future😂
This is an excellent video! my wife told me that I had upholstered a stool before - Many years ago, I couldn't remember! - and we needed to re-upholster a grand dining room chair that the cats had taken a fancy to - I watched the video, ordered material, did some notes and re-upholstered the chair in an afternoon. Great credit to this lady as her tutorial is excellent and gives you confidence
This is one of the best tutorials I've ever seen - it is so straight forward and clear! I was dreading my DIY, but now it looks so much simpler and I'm thinking my project might actually be presentable!
Hi, this is amazing, my grandfather recently passed away and he had these beautifully ornamented wooden chairs that I loved... Except the cushions were dirty and old fashioned so it would've looked terrible in my home. Now I can change the upholstery and still have something of my grandparents in my home!! Thank you!
That’s great! How simple. I can’t believe I’ve gone more than 50 years without reupholstering a chair when it’s this easy. I can’t wait to try it and will save this video do use as a guide.
Thank you so much, for this video. I watched it several times, and then again 3 or 4 more times, while I was actually reupholstering my dining room chairs, and they turned out awesome! Would not have been brave enough to try it without this video!
This is a great tutorial. Very easy to follow, no blah, blah, blah from the narrator. No shaky camera, great lighting and straight to the point. This was the first one I chose and is definitely the only one I need. I can't wait to get started.
Great Video. I followed it about two years ago and successfully covered two dining room chair seat cushions. The seats are still in great shape. I came back to it again this year because I am going to cover the seats of two other chairs. This video is the go to for recovering chair seat cushions. Thank you so much for this video.
This was such a good simple direction for upholstering a chair. I live in Barili, Cebu, Philippines and showed it to my carpenters and they were able to undersatnd it pretty well even when they don’t understand English very well! We did a beautiful job by following your tutorial. Thank you so much! ❤
I loved your video tutorial. Clear, easy to understand, and not complicated! I've been wanting to recover my dining chairs since forever! Now, I feel like I can finally do this! Thank you so much for sharing. Blessings~
Excellent tutorial! No extra chatter or cutesy comments. Step by step to the point.. I am going to do six dining chairs for a friend tomorrow. This is my first time attempting an upholstery project.
Thanks so much for that demonstration. It was exactly what I needed to see. It was great that you were so precise and succinct and didn't ramble like a lot of people do in videos. Excellent work.
My wife and I are about to start upholstering our own dining chairs. Thank you, this is the best video we have seen and you have cured our anxiety over starting the work! Many thanks from the UK.
@@onlinefabricstore Mission successful! We're very pleased with the results. The chair corners were the most intricate part of the job and even that was a doddle. Once again, thank you for making such an easy to follow guide.
The best tutorial I have seen or watched in youtube. Now I can try and do my queen anne chair that I have been wanting to restore the finish and fabric!!!
I have 6 chairs needing reupholstering. I thought it was hopeless. Your video is so clear and concise, it gave me hope and direction. I'm going to give it a try. Thank you.
I plan to reupholster six dining chairs that are very similar to the one in the video. My husband and I did that many years ago and I do not remember all the details. Thank goodness I found your video jolting my memory. You did a good job on the presentation -- clear explanations and step-by-step instructions.
Omg, this is the best video so far in youtube which i have watched. No stories, very clear on the point and short video. I want to do this for my six chairs, will start with one. Thanks!
Best video I’ve watched for this tho of project! You kept it straightforward and easy so there was no confusion. I made sure to save this so I’ll have it when I reupholster my dining chairs from 1950!
I am so excited this is literally an amazing tutorial. You did so well with explaining each and every step. I’m so excited you explained everything in detail and I know I will succeed in reupholstering my own chairs because of this video thank you so much.
Kandy. Can you tell me what size and brand foam you used? I will be recovering my dining chairs and haven't a clue where to begin on how much fabric I need and the type and size of foam to get.
Thank you! I was a bit concerned but you made that video so clear and concise I know I can do it!!! I think some people should watch your video to see how to shoot an excellent DIY video :)
Love your video. I've been watching others, and they were too muh. Yours is simple, and to the point. I will now finish my chairs after watching your video. Thanks!!
Thanks so much for the fast and detailed demo. I found a wooden folding chair from 1928 in my alley in Chicago. Someone stepped on the center of the chair and broke it. I cut a new board to the same size from MDF, purchased new foam, and vinyl faux leather. I had it fixed within the hour. Thanks for the tips!
Thank you for sharing your video. Your tutorial instructions seemed easy to follow, the best I’ve watched so far. I have a few chairs that need to be recovered, so I’ll skip the first part of the video. Thanks again!

If i may give you an update. We're using a near memory foam for padding and we used an electric serrated knife and it worked like cutting butter. I tried the manual serrated and being the first time for me, i didnt cut it so smoothly. To get past my lack if skill, i needed some help. Take care and thanks again for the TUT.
I got some great Duncan Phyfe chairs I'm going to restain and reupholster. I can't wait to breathe some life back into them! Thank you for this awesome tutorial!!

This video was great, i just did my first cushion! Just a couple of things--my cushion used tons of staples and I don't think the tool u used would've worked. I ended up ordering a 3 pack of different upholstery staple removers which worked great. Also, I found the 2 inches of cushion wasn't enough with the plywood base I had, so I ended up doubling it which made it soft enough for me.
