@@KCoVah Yes, you could use it for that. I often prefer using screws, but I've seen people use galvanized nails. I built a deck type item for storing firewood using a framing nailer.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Awesome! I’ve done it both ways when building but wasn’t sure if this was good for it. I love the review you gave and wondered if an 18Ga was good or if I could fine something cordless with bigger GA for same quality and less price.

Thanks for the info. I bought one because it shoots full round nails. The 30 degree shoots full round offset nails. Some states has different codes for framing.

Nice choice, Tony! I used to have a pneumatic framing nailer which required a compressor, hose, extension cord, and tool oil. It's amazing what this can do on just a battery.

This is definitely better than the Dewalt 21 degree framing nailer that we have at work. The Dewalt makes loud noise when the motor winds up to nail and gets a loose nail all the time that gets jammed in the head sometimes.
I'm thinking that Dewalt will come out with a gen 2 version someday. I remember when I tested the M18 out for the first time and was surprised that there's no motor wind-up delay and all the nails shoot a more consistent depth.
Seems like its the standard framer with a different magazine. I wonder if they just sell the 21 degree magazine separate

Thank you! I have a Brother P-Touch label maker. I put a little heat to it to help it stick better.. It works fairy well, but a one of them fell off.

I'm liking all the tools (I think it's bc it's red and black😅)....but I only want a drill and impact..maybe a grinder.....I know it sounds weird...but if all that's needed it's all that is needed??
I seem to use my drills the most. A grinder is very handy too. I'd recommend adding a circular saw in the mix and you can build or fix a lot of stuff.

Great review. Question: I need to use 3.5 inch 16d nails for this but hone depot does not sell them. What keywords should I search for to make sure I get the right 3.5 inch nails that will fit in this magazine?
I look for 21 degree framing nails when I go into the home improvement stores. You might want to check the Milwaukee website to see who all sells this nailer and search there for the longer nails.

It's fast and reliable. You can't beat the cordless/hose-less setup.
This gun sounds so much quieter then the Dewalt nailers, they sound like a gun firing 18g & 16g

As long as you're using 21 degree nails, you should be all set.
I just purchased the 34 degree,
I just realised and after scrolling and watching I see the 21d is the older gun.
I have an old Paslode impulse nailer. It needs a new battery I think OI may buy one of these instead of buying a battery, I already have Milwaukee M18 tools so I can buy the tool only.
I've always thought about buying a Paslode over the past 15 years, but ended up bringing a compressor around and sometimes a generator with my Senco framing nailer. This Milwaukee nailer is all I use now. It's an amazing nail gun!

Nice review. What is the best way to put the nailer in the bag. Just got mine and I have it with the back of the head and the back of the magazine facing down. Bag seems a little wobbly due to the height.

I just got one I didn't think it would be so heavy and it's huge with the extended mag
I prefer the standard size mag, even though I have to reload more often. I also own an older Senco SN 70 framing nailer, but that seems even heavier than this one.

I've tested many brands in both the 21 and 30. I really need to make a video on it to hit on all the points. (I'll try and do that this month yet.) With all that said, I'd say the 21 degree is probably the most popular.
Hey I was watching your review and decided to go out and buy the nailer however it does not drive the nails all the way and leaves them out about half way, I checked the tip and moved it around but nothing helps it, would you have any idea why that is?
It should drive them in flush, inset, or slightly proud. If they're only half way in, then I'd double check that you have the correct nails. If you've tried everything, I'd consider exchanging it. I've run the brand of nails sold at Home Depot, the Grip Rite brand and they work well. Are you driving them into something similar to 2x4 lumber?

im looking at this gun for james hardie lap siding because it shoots full head spirals.....opinion?
If you go to the James Hardie website, they recommend siding nailers or roofing nailers. The trim uses a different nailer which I'm guessing is a 15ga nailer.
I have the 30 and its like a gun shot and has recoil for me to do the rapid fire seems hard on the tool
Interesting observation. I'm not sure what type of warranty the tool has in the event that rapid fire is hard on the tool.
I've done a lot of framing with a hammer and 16 D nails. I don't mind taking my time on the actuated mode with framing nail guns. It's still seems much faster than a hammer.

I am a homeowner with a day job who does not do anything construction related for a living. That being said I am working on framing out my basement and Bought this th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHQsUrwNr5GQrnx9V4xDdUr56qxwuiBHt gun. I have done a few walls already, have probably shot a couple hundred nails through this thing and have yet to have a misfire. It works awesome, good depth on every nail if you have your compressor set right. My literal only complaint is that it is a bit heavy and my arm can get a little tired especially whrn I am nailing at odd angles. That being said I am super happy with it and would buy it again. Hoping the old girl allows me to get my whole basement finished out!

What's the pro's & con's of the 21 degree nailer vs 30 degrees?
Good question. The 30 degree can fit into tighter spaces for starters. The 21 degree nailer holds a few more nails. Other than that, they fire nails in the same manner. I'm not sure what one's more popular, but I'm happy with the 21 degree and happy with the tight spots it can get in.
Paslode is still king in my book. 55 percent lighter is worth paying for fuel and the extra service and care they need.
How much weight the bare tool? I still can't believe it is 11.x lbs, the 30 degree version 2745 is around 6-7 lbs only which I don't like
The bare weight is 9.4lbs, same as the 30 degree.

Heaviest nailer ever built. Price apparently is too low to include alloy construction.
I don't think its much different from my Senco framing nailer. I'll have to put them o the scale to see.
The same is true of every battery tool, even bigger ones like a lawn mower or a snowblower, as soon as they switch a system to battery power, plastic is the only material available, you can forget about metal alloys, they simply don't work with today's tech. Cheaply built in most cases and made not to last. In this case you take a real pneumatic framing nailer like the Hitachi nr83a3 which is a metal construction that's made to last for decades of framing houses and have replaceable parts for the whole thing and you compare this gun to the Milwaukee or any other battery gun, something is very wrong here.
Why have they made a nail gun that does not take standard nail strips
My old pnenumatic Senco framer took 2 strips of their brand of nails, which fully loaded it. I know what your mean, I'd like to see some strips of nails fully load this one. I have the extended magazine now which is a nice feature.

I love the looks of the gun and it seems to work pretty good but I do think it's beyond pathetic that Milwaukee as a supposed leader in the tool world industry would be dumb enough to put a clip on the gun and ship it to you that only holds one rack of nails and then decides to make a clip that will hold two racks of nails and sell it to you separately most of the guns that have been made in the past that I've used in construction for 25 plus years held two racks of nails what would possess a company to be so stupid or is it just weak pathetic ignorance on their part just so they can milk you for more money I mean their tools are highly overpriced already why would they need more money out of my pocket just to have the gun the way it should have been made to begin with

I don't own a 30 degree yet, but find that the 21 does everything I need it to. It holds slightly less nails than the other, but you can always get an extended magazine. You are correct, the nail diameter is slightly larger, which I like as well.

Hard saying what the demand is. I don't recall the DeWalt Framing nailer including a case either. My old Senco pnenumatic framing nailer didn't come in a case, but the Senco SFN40, 15ga nailer has a case which I like and use for storage.

So ridiculous, everybody has to do the same reviews, they just love to shoot this nailer in rapid mode. No one ever shows these guns on the job doing what they were made for.
