- This is part two of visiting Sydney as a tourist. In the first video, I got to visit the Sydney Fish Market and sample all the incredible dishes from the massive king crab, wagyu sushi, the meaty lobster mornay, and the largest Fish and Chips I've ever seen.
Now, this is the continuation on the day and it is evening. I get to visit one oof the famous eateries here in Sydney at Koi! This is not just any restaurant! This is a unique tasting experience run by MasterChef Australia's Alum, Reynold Poernomo, who's world class dessert creations have wowed audiences and eaters all over the world. This is not only dessert, but a 10 course dining experience as well with unique savoury dishes and gastronomical desserts as well.
Is this worth the $185 price tag? It'll be fun to find out!

Thank you for promoting Reynold’s restaurant as our hospitality industry is going through so many closures due to the current economic environment.
Also very nice filming.
I really appreciate this comment, it's probably the hardest season we've ever faced since covid.
thank you for dining with us!
Thank you so much Reynold! Very excited to see what new and exciting culinary creations to come! 😃
Wow. I didn't know koi haw fine dining. It's interesting to watch you enjoying the unique stuff. I couldn't justify to step my foot into that place.
The scallops with caviar and the berry dessert looked amazing!
Thank you for sharing Tim. What fun, to try new foods.❤
Thanks for sharing your journey to eat the world 😂❤ ! 😊
Love your videos too !
I been to alot of dessert bakeries in Paris, Vegas, Saigon, Tokyo, but did not expect Sydney's KOI to have the most exquisite dessert. thanks
I love all videos
Great workmanship
Thank you again for taking us along to explore different types of Australian cuisine. That fresh seafood...OMG 😯 You're truly a joy to watch. ❤
This was quite an adventurous tasting menu… Very creative, but it was pricey. The ants were quite tasty, though, which was surprising.
Thanks for your video. I’ve wondered about KOI dessert since Reynold was on tv. It’s too expensive for people like me who eat to live, not live to eat! But I’m glad someone like you did a video on it.
Another awesome video, Tim! I hope you go to the Spice Market in your next video!
Have watched all seasons of Australia master chef. Just adore reynold ♥️
Interesting tasting menu 😮🤔...all his desserts are too pretty to eat...every dessert he creates are identical 🤗...glad you enjoyed yourself...safe travels and God Bless 😘🤗❤
Tim another excellent review! Tks for all your effort and time much appreciated!
Thank you so much! It was quite an enjoyable experience! Even the ants were tasty😉
Oh wow! What a nice at Koi wow wish that in California have one smile thank you so much for share with us! You have a big heart to travel and show the foods again thank You Tim Lee
Your too funny, love the play on words, however I think I would have to pass on these items, always a pleasure to watch. Enjoy your videos 👍🏻❤
The ants were a bit surprising, and I found out that the toothfish is actually just Seabass. Very delicious.
thank you for sharing. Every plates were so beautiful and delicious. Definitely adding to my bucket list. ❤ love your sense of humor…😂😂
I think I am more of a Spice Alley kind of person as well, Tim, but would love to sample the desserts at Koi.
What a lovely way to try exotic food. Australia is definitely a food destination.
Just when you say you can’t eat another bite, a very delicious surprise!! It all looks so good!! 😋😁
The things you come up with make me laugh 😂 I don't know if I'd ever go there, but I guess once in a lifetime wouldn't be that bad, thanx Tim
Hi Tim ! I really enjoy watching your channel, you are so funny at times when you are trying the dishes , and it seems the cold ice cream desserts the expressions on your face make me laugh, that’s so cute, but I enjoy it , the foods looks so delicious, so take care and thanks for sharing. ❤😊
Thank you so much and it’s a lot of fun. For some reason, I don’t do well with cold desserts, or cold dishes. Hmmm🤔😉
What a spectacular day you enjoyed, Tim!!!!!!!!! It will bring you memories for a lifetime. I have been enjoying your videos from Australia and New Zealand. I live on Cape Cod, where seafood is fresh, plentiful, and delicious. Australia certainly has us beat... the dishes as you described, second to none. You should venture to Cape Cod. We are blessed with some of the best seafood restaurants in the USA. Nearby, though, I think you would be most interested. The small City of New Bedford is the scallop capital of the world. I know how much you love your scallops! The best Portuguese and Cape Verdean restaurants outside of Portugal and Cape Verde are in New Bedford, as well.
Thank you so much for reaching out and the seafood in Australia is amazing! You had me at scallops just browsing Cape Cod and hopefully I can get some time off after this for the next vacation!
Wow what beautiful serving ware!!
I ate tree ants this week too. Mine was an accident. 😀
I'm honestly not sure if I want to know how or why this happened to you. It shouldn't be that easy but not impossible by the sound of it..
Not funny
@@becsmith995you need a girlfriend
@@becsmith995 I have a big pecan tree over my driveway and sometimes ants get in my car. I always keep water in my car when I go to work out. After working out, I was very thirsty and began drinking very quickly. I felt something go down my throat. I opened my cup and ants had got into my water.
@@Eric-the-wise It is a little funny.
This is interesting. I do love it 😊
The tasting menu foods looked wonderful and nice variety. Didn't like some the clunky serving dishes. Bread and butter service should have a place for the knife. Thought of you today. Watched a YT Palin's Kitchen. She is a Thai cook I enjoy. Today she did something different and showcased the chef at Baan Lao, located in Thai Trade Centre in Vancouver. Since it is in your area thought I'd let you know in case you have not heard of it. Thai fine dining. Hello from sunny Corvallis Oregon.
Much respect to the chefs & staff !
Tim, I am not going to comment on the individual creation. All are Simply Exquisite. So Fine. Best
Great to see you eat and enjoy the food🤩🤘🏼🥂and happy you survived the jalapeño 😄
Thank you so much! Lots of good little dishes and yes, the memory of the jalapeño was long gone
Ciao Tim 👋👋
Greetings from Greenwich London ⚓️⛵️
Cheers 🍲🍵🥄🍸😋👍
I see Reynold I click
I enjoy tasting menus to get an idea of what the restaurant is about. I don't think I could justify this one at that price point though. I would go next store and get one or two desserts like you did the next day.
I love your content. You are very nice to people 😊
Thank you so much and everyone there were such a good sports!
Lovely Tim , Sydney is the most expensive spot
Oh wowww Tim, I’m a huge fan of Reynolds. Frm India Bangalore
😂😂😂😂 You kill me with the one-biters...taking them in 2 or more bites..then them exploding on your hands ... WE LIKE BIG BITES TIM 😂😂
I love your videos. I would only have eaten the bread and last dessert. Thank you for letting me travel with you. GOD bless!
That bread was heavenly, and the desserts were very good as well…
I actually like watching the tasting menus vs street foods or food trucks (which is done by everyone on YT). This is something similar to a buffet offerings... having many different foods from a single restaurant. Please don't stop the tasting videos.
Thank you so much! It’s always an adventure at these tasting menus where you really don’t know what you’re going to get. Also, thank you so much for your feedback. It’s really helpful.
Amazing Tim!
I always feel nervous when people spend this amount of money for multiple dishes this size. I'd always feel like do i get some McDonald's afterwards? but all looked amazing Tim.
I love watching this show so much
It is quite fun watching the chefs put the dishes together. Really intricate work.
Absolutely magnificent 👏👏👏!
Was that price all together if so, i can't wait to try it myself.😂
toothfish is called Chilean Seabass in north and south America
Thank you so much! I still think toothfish is a weird name for a fish but to each their own😁
What an amazing restaurant
Very Nice Video
✌✌
It was definitely a unique experience…very enjoyable 🙂
i just got started and at 4:48 mins, i am shocked at the high price for this meal, no soft music,no nice tables but there are ants and bug legs in the food. i love your videos and i will watch this to the end but so far, wow, i think they are seeing who will pay so much for this type of thing. lol
This was quite pricey and certainly not my cup of tea so to speak. It is an experience though.
you are paying for the food that not any ordinary chef can cook. These food require creativity, experiments, high grade ingredients, special skills and special equipments. You only see the price and the food, but there are people seeing the whole procedure of creating the food. Why would a gem be priced same as a rock? It doesn’t matter you like the gem or not, there will be many people appreciating its beauty.
$185 for 10 courses. if you simply consider 1 dish = $18.5, and compare with a large chip $10 in a random Sydney restaurant, it is still a good price considering the high level of ingredients and cooking skills. This is life time experience and joyfulness. Not an economic Mc Donalds meal to full fill the stomach. Of course, your life, your choice.
Assalamu'alaikum Wr Wb
Mr. Poernomo, I"m Aulia from Indonesia. It's long time not to watch you on my TV. Congratulation for your delicious menus and the restaurant. At this moment I need to ask you the question. How you delivery your menus so they keeps inovation in variant and of course the delicious? Sorry for this, by the way syukron. CU.
The foods look amazing. Must be very, very yummy. But, I'm not sure if they can make me full😅.
Very different from the traditional places… I do like small traditional large portion type places😉
Tim do the people behind you actually request to be blurred out?
I think in other countries there are laws about filming others who does not want to be and In some you have to get written consent to place them on videos we the only country that I know as long as we in public we can be film.. But maybe it's out of respect for others I never place someone that said no or anyone under age that's called respect.
@@ruththompson9369 I noticed that some are blurred out but others aren’t.
What does it mean when you say "take it back"? I've heard of throw it back but not that version.
Tim’s version of English 🙅🏼♀️
❤ALL THE FOOD LOOKED DELICIOUS MINUS THE ANTS😮YOU'RE BRAVER THAN I TIM 👍
🙏 GODSPEED
I suspect when in Australia, you do what the Australians do😉. it’s kind of fun to explore and I get braver on the videos, then in real life😉
Bonza living the dream 😂😂❤😂😂❤❤😂😂❤😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think I would want a burger after if I ate here! 🤭
When you start eating bugs, you are on yur way to the Matrix! LOL
One of my favourite movies… At least the original
Looks nice, but a bit Rich for my budget ❤️
Interesting👍👍👍👍👍😊
That bird claw is so off putting 😂 it looks okay that menu however for the price I can think of heaps of other restaurants I would prefer to eat at.
Toothfish is known in the US as Chilean Sea Bass
Thank you so much! And what a weird name for a fish!
Bonza living the dream 😂😂❤😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was a very nice tasting menu! Very pretty and adventurous
Maybe Australia tips rules is not bad as Vancouver
I like the way Australia sets up the payments. Many prices that you see are all inclusive of tax and service charges.
THOSE ANTS taste like lime... like caviar limes
I’ve heard that before. Sonny on BEFRS says they taste like citrus.
@@terryandhope exactly lol
Tim❤
Interesting food. Ants and bloody birds are far too exotic for my palate. Having said that, it’s fun watching you be adventurous. 👍🏻🌹👍🏻
I couldn't believe your struggle
with that quail leg basically a chicken flat as far as the way to eat to the
bare bone
Fair dinkum unbelievable 😂😂❤❤😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Fair dinkum unbelievable 😂😂❤😂😂❤😂😂❤❤❤❤
Always tell the price please 😂😂❤😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much and I always leave the details in the video description. Hope you get a chance to give it a try.
that youtube money treating ya well tim!
And he deserves every cent. You say it like there’s something wrong with it!
😍🤍😋💙🙏👍
Every man dies not every man really live 😂😂❤😂❤😂😂😂😂😂❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You can't pronounce Reynold's 1st name either 😂😂😂 Its like the foil "reh-nolds" 😂😂
Scallops are better when cooked.
I would take a pass on this type of food.
Yeah, I understand what you mean. It’s a nice experience and I enjoyed it, but for day-to-day eating, it would be at the mom and Pop restaurants.
♥️💋🇨🇦
Bit wanky really - rather go to that $13 buffet in Vegas - hahahaha.
It is an interesting experience, although yes, I’m more towards the local comfort foods
@@TimLeeLetsGo I've been to a few places like that - you feel you have to love it - but it's not really a meal you love! xx
First comment!😮
Yuki kinda cute
those are actual ants?
Yeah, they were ants. Unfortunately, there was not any false advertising there.😉
3:17 Does she say "green tea with a lemon MOTOR OIL" ????? 😮
i believe it was lemon myrtle oil
@@houstud275 lmao...ok..never heard if this...but that sounds much better than motor oil 😂
@@pmg-1Lemon Myrtle is an Australian bush ingredient.
🤤🥰🥹🤤🥰🥹🤤🥰🥹.
you got ripped off
Thanks, Tim, but I'll take a pass.
It was a fun experience… But it wasn’t my cop of tea either
Don't listen to the WEF they want us to eat bugs. You can't get me to eat any bugs. I hate bugs ewe gross.😢
Once you have asian you dont want to go back to Caucasians ❤❤😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Once you have asian you dont want to go back to Caucasians ❤❤🎉😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Tim, I freaked out when you said tree ants 🫣 0mg I just couldn’t try that. The food was certainly very interesting, I remember Reynold on Masterchef he is a genius
