Hey, ive got an 06 spec b myself and ive been having some issues with it. I was thinking about putting a jdm sti motor into it at some point. Id like to hear about some of the other parts you had to replace when you did the swap. Did u have to put a 6-speed in it or a sti rear diff?
Didn’t have to replace much. Most of the work is just converting plugs and sensors to be compatible with the jdm swap. I did upgrade little things sonce the engine was out (ie. Uppipe, intake, spark plugs, etc.). An sti swap will be the more expensive route but you will get much more potential hp gains.
@@bendaga Okay i see. And yeah going w an sti swap requires a lot of swapping sti parts into the car. I recently have been having an issue when i shift from 1st to 2nd gear or from 4th down to 3rd gear where theres some sort of banging sound when i disengage the clutch.... not sure if u ever had a similar issue with the stock trans
What number is your 06 Spec B? I daily a 450whp 06 LGT with an STI type RA shortblock with built b25 heads, Blouch 20g turbo and Cobb Flex fuel kit. I would like to eventually get a spec B 6 speed to swap in.
@@Rob-fv6zr I didn't put the coilovers on this car, but the chassis is very forgiving. I run strut/spring combo on my wrx and it's a little more plush than this

@@jaydenfrageau5538 trans may be on its way out. If you’re gonna do the swap, might be worth doing the trans too
Did you get the EJ20X tuned to work with VF52? Where did you get it tuned?
anything else done to the exhaust system at all or just muffler delete ?
JDM EJ20x, catless uppipe, short ram intake along with the muffler delete. Next steps is putting in a catless downpipe

What turbo did you upgrade to? Just had a ej20 swapped in with a vf38. Starting to think about the next stage.
I ditched the twin scroll setup and upgraded to a vf52.
