Have been to Gavin's workshops and had a 1-2-1 with him. Very knowledgeable and a fantastic way of teaching, truly talented and genuinely nice guy. Go to his workshops. You'll learn so much.
I love all of your videos, and I always take something away from them, but this one is by far my favorite!! I have so many ideas that I’m going to try for my studio photography class. Thank you for all that you do!!
Excellent as always, Gavin and team! Thank you! I would love to see a segment on portraits of older models. Chloe and other are great, professional models. I'd like to learn best practices to reduce lines and wrinkles in older models.
Gavin, try switching the x-pro1 to "shoot: app" in its menu and adjust power for all flashes on the 858D only. Otherwise the two will interfere about the individual flash settings, as around 19:00. I have exactly the same setup, and it works like a charm after that adjustment
Yeah , not the first time I folded that background... Probably not even the first time that day! Practice is the secret as sometimes different backgrounds fold easier with different techniques 😉
Thank you for this, Gavin. What are the details for the short C-stand? I'm assuming the "turtle legs" are the same as a standard C stand, but the height is what I'm interested in. Thank you.
If that works for you, great. The key (in my opinion) is to keep control of contrast by knowing how much light is reflected on to the back of the model from the background, not how much light falls on the background. A flash meter makes that easy but there's no rules in photography👍
This guy, Gavin hoey is a great teacher
Love way Gavin explains things so down to earth

so interesting to watch and learn a lot in such a short time
A question I've always wanted to ask a pro tog on one of these live shows is why did you choose a particular camera brand over another?
Every photographer needs a Chloe. I have yet to find mine.
Great tutorial as always sir! 😊
Hello from California, USA
Great session! Thanks!

Hey Gavin and Team. I would love to know what were those circular gels used that so perfectly fit into the Softboxes. Thanks
Hi from Trinidad and Tobago
This video is really interesting!!
Thanks for sharing.
Loved it!
I love how Gavin does everything wrong first so that we can troubleshoot with him
Can you tell me where I can get the black folding backdrop and what size do you have in your live
You have folded that screen before. Took me 30 minutes last time. I nearly went home without it
Yeah , not the first time I folded that background... Probably not even the first time that day! Practice is the secret as sometimes different backgrounds fold easier with different techniques 😉

If there is no flash meter, how do we calculate the light?😍🥰🤩
Thank you for this, Gavin. What are the details for the short C-stand? I'm assuming the "turtle legs" are the same as a standard C stand, but the height is what I'm interested in. Thank you.
Hi Gavin, i would appreciate a video on how you photoshop as well, mainly skin and color calibration
Please list the reflector holder you used so I can buy it.

❤❤❤great video as always
Hi, from Philippines.....
Great video Gavin
Hi Kirsty, thanks for the kind comment 😊
@GavinHoey your welcome Gavin
I prefer to use the histogram / Blinky to set up a white background approx 2/10 into the blinkys.
If that works for you, great. The key (in my opinion) is to keep control of contrast by knowing how much light is reflected on to the back of the model from the background, not how much light falls on the background. A flash meter makes that easy but there's no rules in photography👍
hello from nova scotia
is there a reason why you use ISO 200, instead ISO 100?

Hello
Gavin love yours shows but …… do you ever work with any different models ? Why not ? Always Chloe
Bought that light meter with Godox transmitter along with newest Godox trigger because they “ Communicate “ with each other. What a waste of money !!
I love you! Reach out to me.
