Hard to know if Guiu is ready for PL if he doesn’t get any minutes. When Delap was causing us all those problems I couldn’t help but think that’s exactly what Guiu does for us.
Right?! He's also a physical pressing maniac, why not give him a run of games at least as a sub, instead of subbing Nico for Nkunku and being practically down to 10 men, cos Nkunku doesn't want to be in that position.
You all have short memories, forgetting how Tomori had an inability to play out from the back, constant mis-placed passes costing cheap goals, it'd be like having another Sanchez.
Tomori is 27 years old and not really a super profile in Serie A, which means he's really not likely to be starter quality for a team trying to win the PL and the CL. In other words, if we buy him, we're spending transfer money on a depth player while having Anselmino and Josh flapping in the wind. That's not a good use of resources. We should be upgrading from the Badiashiles and the Disasis, not spending money buying similar quality players. The difference between Tomori and Chalobah is that we already own Chalobah. We're not spending money in order to buy him. He may not be a nailed on starter but he's much better depth than Disasi. And he is frankly a cut above Tomori anyway.
@Monochromatic_Spider listen mate, don't you get coming on here with your complete sense, you need to go away and don't come back until you can come up with some rabid knee-jerk bullshit.
I thought Tomori leaving was a huge mistake. Now I don’t. Everytime we played milan since we’ve twisted him up like a pretzel. Seriously. He’s made HUGE defensive blunders against us. I’ll pass. Love and guidance to him though.
Bring back silva as a defensive coach think he would be great for the young players we have. Plus he’s Brazilian and would help Estevao settle in the summer and bring that new Argentinian lad through
Never understand the clamour for Chalobah to come back. Made mistakes, not particularly strong, fast or technically gifted. Average player which for some reason people look upon with rose-tinted glasses. Acheampong covers the same positions and should be given the chance over a Chalobah return.
Its just maresca doesn't like chil, but he plays better for role which given to cucurellaaaaaa in the previos game, we can still playay currella on right wing and chill on the left.
Disasi has 3 goals that I recall. Unfortunately one was an own goal when he passed back to the keeper but the keeper was 10 yards away from where he kicked the ball.
I think if Tomori came back home, he would take some time to settle. Italian league is very different pace. But with time, him and Colwill could be a great partnership for years to come. Like Terry and Cahill!
Guiu was shocking in his first prem game couple months back, but he can only improve with more experience, unless we turn this around immediately and somehow actually become title contenders, i see no issues with giving Guiu more time to develop since we’ll need him for rotations next season presuming with get CL football
This just simply shows how we all don't why Tomori was sold in the first place.... Such a good Defender Quick, strong, good in the air, good passing ability and Experience Defender probably to partner Colwill
Carney is a £20m players and that's only in the case a club is desperate to sign him, which no one is. £12.5 is still slightly optimistic, but depends on payment terms, ie, if it's all up front, etc.
Disastersasi must be sold, he's possibly the worst Chelsea player I've ever seen. Disasi is a joke. Get rid right now and get Tomori back? We'd be laughing. Why did we ridiculously let our finest defender go when he was like 21? Really stupid. Hopefully they see that and actually gwt him back because he outplayed every other defender the year before his sale
Veiga and disasi should go out on loan we should use chillwell and recall chalabah as improvements for the rest of the season, its so obvious to me that would improve the sqaud
There is no reason Desasi should ever play in front of a fit Josh or Gusto. It felt like Maresca was almost making a point with some of his starting choices last match.
There were good reasons why fikayo was sold and those reasons still stand. However, we already have a better defender who 'can' play out from the back, trevor chalobah.
@RyanWilson-l5u because as Frank lampard said at the time 'he can't play out from the back', he was making the same misplaced passes that sanchez does, don't think we need two of them in the same team.
Tomori is a blue, he is not doing bad at all, I would take him back for sure. As long as a backup/competitive center forward is the conversation, only Isak comes to my mind, he gives me that Nico Jackson vibe with a little more accuracy!
The reality right now is, our CB situation isn't great. LCB: Colwill, Badiashile RCB: Fofana, Tosin, Disasi We'll ignore Anselmino for the moment, as I don't think he's close to ready. Man for man, we might be the worst top 6 team at this position. To me, I think it makes sense to go out and get an elite RCB that can rotate with Fofana, and let either Tosin or Disasi go (obviously I prefer Disasi). If possible, I think we cash in on Nkunku now, get a high caliber CB, then use that hugely advantageous release clause Osimhen now has in the summer. A combination on Jackson/Guiu/Felix can cover until then.
Maresca has done wonders for us for the madness created by our sporting directors. If Disasi goes, please send Badiashille with him as well. Chalobah being pushed out is ridiculous, bring him back. Fiks I could understand as his position wasn't guaranteed, I don't believe the club's future was guaranteed during those days.
Here are some facts: Marc Guiu IS already our version of Liam Delap. Muani to Chelsea is not a good transfer Tomori to chelsea would be a good transfer based on the current style of play. His pace as last man would be a super important addition. Ben Chillwell is STILL the best left back at the club.
I didn't particularly want us to sell Tomori back in the day but now that we've done it, it makes no sense to spend money bringing him back. He's 27 years old and he's not an obvious starter. Buying 27 year old players destined for squad depth duty is not a good use of resources. Edit: And Chalobah is toast at Chelsea, for sure. But to me it feels like one of those boneheaded decisions where executives make an executive call that makes the company weaker, and then it becomes a question of corporate politics to pretend that said boneheaded decision was actually a smart move even though it very obvious wasn't. The club has made a fair few of those moves, I feel, and it is worrying. Striving to make good decisions is impossible if we do not acknowledge the possibility of bad decisions.
Wider discussion, but players falling out of favour/system/new manager on long contracts, problematic to move on, somewhat mitigated with lower base wage structure, but likes of Chilly B still had 2.5 years on his $190k pw base. How long Carney got left?

Not as much as you think. Tomori struggles with Serie A, that doesn't suggest he'll crush it in the Prem. And Guehi is more of a chess player than a brawler, which makes him much the same type as Colwill. Also kind of small for a central defender, not very strong in the air, so really not the greatest complement for Colwill.
I was never sure why we sold Temori TBH, we should definitely sell disasi if we can get a club to buy him. I wondering why Milan are offering him back though, has his form dipped badly or are they strapped for cash?? I haven’t seen him play in a long time
He’s been there for like 5 years and gets constantly overlooked for the national team. My guess would be that he wants to come back to the prem and so Milan will try and get a decent price for him before he runs down his contract
