@@GenesisSNfor sure. Jackson is progressing well, but heaping all this pressure on a young, winger turned striker with no other true 9 option other than a teenage Guiu is disgraceful from the board.
Only watched the highlights but I don’t think Jackson had really bad misses like if he scored them they woulda been outstanding finishes. They ain’t sitters or like clean through 1v1
Dang. The defenders constantly letting the Palace attack get goalside of them. Frustrating we couldn't finish a counter attack. Sanchez, what a mixed bag he is huh? Quite a few saves in there.
Yan, Maresca, led us down again with his late substitutions. 15 minutes left of the it was clear Jackson, Palmer were tired, cos they have been doing lots of running. Maresca game inbthe 15 minutes of games has been poor.
Two things I see that bug me. 1- we don’t have two teams, apparently we barely have 1. there is no reason Maresca doesn’t make changes earlier when the team is being ineffective. Making the first sub at 80’ bugs me. 2- no one wants to go to goal. I know the guys are probably coached to hold it up and create but when we get into the attacking third we start passing it around instead of putting it in scoring position or getting inside the box. It is like Chelsea wants to play against as many defenders as possible. We need to exploit the counter attack whenever possible. Neto is fast and so is Jackson I want to see them stretch the field with a long ball more often.
Weeks ago we were saying how many goals we are scoring this season. Now we can't score at all, and we are creating the chances. Game management has started to become an issue and maresca needs to utilize the bench much better, and counterqct the fact that opponents are gaining on is in the second half periods of games. We need to tactically adapt a little more in these situations and choose the right method for this problem. Unfortunately the few injuries, and the fact he has started to mix the league team and europa team together and that's where it started going wrong. If he'd have used Veiga instead of Disasi it would have made more sense and probably a better result. We need to compensate a bit more and have a little bit more solidity between Fernandez and Caicedo. Lavia is perfect for the defensive and counterattack balance but obviously injury plagues him. Sancho defended really well today and as well as attack. I also don't understand why maresca hasn't thought about using nkunku and Jackson. I do love Jackson vut today why ob earth did he not use his left foot for that shot? He does need support and actually again, Guiu scored a hat trick in the cup, and next game he subs in nkunku instead of guiu. If the guys scoring he should be starting, let alone not even come on as a sub when you've just scored a hat trick. Anyhow, we were always going to have a blip. Now we must turn this around and get back to winning ways! Morecambe next so rhat should hopefully be a platform game for us to recapture our oast performance levels.
I believe we conceded because of the fact Sanchez didn’t play from the back and passed to a marked Palmer with 2 players on him. We took one shot on target and it was from Palmer that’s extremely poor!!!!
Did you watch a different game? Palmer received the ball in space and proceeded to try and dribble past three players instead of making the easy pass to Enzo. Let's not make excuses.
@ go watch the clip, you can revive a ball in space and just like that you think the player is to your left and when your turn right theirs another player beside that. That’s what happened, Sanchez has instructions to play from the back, that means passing within your defenders and playing out. He did a wild clear in the fullham game instead of passing to the defender and then it lead to a goal. That’s why he got benched in the following game. You don’t analyze the game, yes it was poor from Palmer but the keeper should do what’s instructed.
@@afern_05spot on my brother. Palmer should have kept it simple and keep possession, instead of trying to dribble past the players. Game management is still something that both our coach and young players need to learn. Don't blame it on Sanchez. It was Palmer's mistake who led to the goal conceded.
We had one shot on target, there’s your problem, we need to buy a top striker ASAP because at the moment we have one striker that isn’t a teenager, also with the injuries we have we need to get a decent centre half. Looks like it’s happening again ( the curse of injuries to important players )
Jackson is as good as he is through learning on the job. His whole career has been the definition of that because he never went through an academy. If you buy a big name striker just to try and secure top 4 this season its incredibly reactionary and lacking any foresight to the development of players like Jackson and Guiu. If Chelsea were to sign a striker to compete with Jackson then I would rather see us sign Delap and just stick with the project we're on. If we lose CL then its totally on Maresca. Its bs to try and scapegoat Jackson.
Observations : - Complacency is the theme after scoring the 1st goal. It is like we just stop playing. Intensity drop is too much. - Missing clinical finishing. We should have been 4 up in the 1st half. Same against Fulham. - Since Villa game, wingers & wingback have not been effective. It seems they are not involved or get caught out easily. - Enzo in the midfield is completely useless. Plays the safe pass around, does not have the vision to spot players, extremely poor in track backing and defensive capabilities, below average attacking input. He takes too much time on the ball & kills the attacks alot. - Caicedo is handling the midfield alone and I am afraid an injury is around the corner for him. Enzo is very bad in defensive qualities. - If Enzo persists with Enzo, I hope he atleast pays Felix in place of Enzo Fernandes. Atleast he will be better in attacking inputs.
Osimhen in January is a MUST. Huge fan of Jackson's game but he's costing us points week in week out. He gets some of the best service in the league from Palmer, Sancho, Neto, and does not capitalize. Osimhen would be contending for the golden boot with these chances.
@@scottcfc1613 Dude... None claims the X striker will score 30 goals BUT in all honesty, jackson has been lately totally unreliable and yes he had costed us some games. I don't think Osimhen d have missed that chance today... Let s be honest.
@@scottcfc1613 maresca again made late subs for NO reason. I understand he wanted to keep Sancho even though he was tired BUT Jackson should have been on the bench since the 70th minute for Marc Guiu.
Won 1 - 0 is not a shame and its something maresca can't do , stop blaming jackson cut it out, i'm always with you but not blaming maresca is delusional
2nd half was poor Jan, intensity , lack of subs, must use three at 70 minutes, we are not fit enough to play 95minutes with the same line up. Game management is predictable, negative and ineffective . Don’t bring back the Potter factor xx
Spot on title, there isn’t much difference in how we play now compared to the start of the season, in some ways we are better. ONLY main negative is we can’t score. Start of the season this would have been a 3-1, same with the last 3 games, we are just not converting our chances and it’s Jackson who has stopped scoring.
We don’t finish chances. Could have been 3 up in the first half and you’re not even having this conversation. The faith in Jackson baffles me. We’ve messed up and treated nkunku terribly.
The thing with Jackson is that thing he was doing at the beginning of the season, the hold up play, I see less of it now. Now, his touch is sometimes heavy, his shots are off. He’s back to last season form that frustrated us. I have now come to the conclusion that he might be great, but it won’t be at Chelsea
We cant keep a clean sheet. Plus our game management has been particularly poor in the 2nd half the Fulham, Ipswich and again tonight. Thats down to the manager. Still learning on the job. Dont blame Jackson.
I think the headline says it all Yan. Seems to be the same algorithm- play well first half- second half we have no creativity. Manager needs to motivate the team at half time. Subs too late coming on AGAIN.
Honestly we played well. Jackson was unlucky with his left footed effort, takes that one bounce as its spinning the spin gets worse. Good block on him once to. If the club could sign Isak I'd love it, but if not, sign a Duran or someone again 23 and younger to fight against Jackson to push eachother. Signing Osimhen does not excite me at all, nor does Gyokeres.. even get someone like a Jonathan David. He's been doing well for a few years, in a not so great team. There's a fair amount of strikers out there.
Don’t want to be knee jerk but Maresca’s inability to do anything different is getting worrying. Catastrophic Xmas period and no end in sight We can’t defend a lead If maresca can’t see the fundamental problem is pairing Caicedo and Enzo then he isn’t watching
Or hear me out. Stop being so rigid and actually get the best out of Nkunku. Play the box midfield, but start with Nkunku at CAM and Palmer at RM. Have our RB either Gusto or Reece overlap to RM and let Palmer tuck in to play alongside Nkunku. We need more creativity and goals, and that’s exactly what Nkunku brings if you use him correctly. Also let Guiu get some minutes
I think we should try Guiu in the starting lineup. Yes, he's young, but maybe he can give Jackson a challenge for the #9 position if we are not gonna buy a STRIKER in this winter transfer window.
I said this when they lost to Ipswich, if they do not make moves in this window to either sure up the CB position or get a proven scorer they will not make top 4. Competition is too crowded right now and other clubs are taking their chances and scoring. All the technical ability in the world but can't put the damn ball in the back of the net. Every match lately has been a slow death, all this build up and nothing to show for it.
In December Chelsea had W4 D1 L2 and the New year game D1 and the next couple of games before Man City is crucial. We should have had a penalty against Everton and also Palace.
We need Lesley back, we are lightweight in the midfield, making us easier to counter attack, or in transition whenever we lose the ball. For example if we have a Declan Rice in midfield we definitely do not lose this game. Rice can cover both distance and space, whereas Caicedo can definitely cover distance but not so good at covering space!
Why the f*ck did Maresca wait so long to pull Sancho and get Madueke on. Apart from the assist Sancho was hopeless. At least Madueke attacks the fullback. You may as well put a wall on the left wing cos that’s all Sancho did.
We deserved more! Probably a few goals were missed out on. By Jackson and others. But the bright spot was achaempong because we need solid defenders badly!
A striker doesn't fix our issues . The problem is collectively, some players relax when we're up and we're always prone to silly mistakes and miss too many chances. That's it. Were only gonna be cooking properly second half next season. That's my prediction.
Manager has gone from being flexible first half the season to now playing the same way, makes subs far too late and only makes one or two, nothing wrong with counter attacking fast but we are constantly slowing it down
Jackson is good. He does the things he's supposed too. He wins corners. He controls long balls when he's isolated in the final third. His runs and positioning are good. He runs hard. I've been his biggest supporter. He was awful today. He Lacked confidence today. Should've had two. BUT also the team just looks wasteful and goes to sleep after going up 1-0.
This one hurt the most. We were so profligate. We need to realise with 2 Championship level strikers we aren’t going to get top 4. Offer Disasi, Sterling and Nkunku for Oshimen
Your right we were always going to have a blip, we may have had it at the perfect time ( January window ) I agree we need to break the bank for a top striker because one shot on target is atrocious, you would expect with an attack of Sancho, Palmer, Neto and Jackson we would at least test their keeper
This coach is beginning to look like toast. The players have been doing it in spite of him because its been first half of season and are still fresh. Sometimes changes starting line up for a change! (Or whole team in Conference League.) No substitutes early enough to change course of game. No clue at all.
We do need a big man up front to help. We should’ve been up 4 or 5 but no one could put it away. I’m a Jackson fan but we need help. You don’t win anything with one striker.
What i'm really struggling to understand is why we have Felix, Nkunku, James & Viega on the bench - yet Maresca keeps waiting until 70-80 minutes to change thing up? I'm so desperate for Felix and Nkunku to succeed at the club, as I am with Sancho and Neto because all four are absolute ballers. I don't know if we need a better striker or not because we were bad across the board today (it would be nice to get someone like Osihmen to take the pressure off of Jackson, but also Jackson SHOULD be doing better. A lot of shots are quite awkward, I get that, the game is FAST, but he does miss a lot of shots other people at the same level would score. Can't fault his work rate, and I do really like him, but it's games like this which make you shake your head. Enzo, Caicedo, Palmer, Neto, Jackson.. a lot of people had a lot of shots today but none of them were all that close. They didn't sit back like Wolves, they gave us space, we just weren't clinical.
There is a lack of intensity when Chelsea are playing at the moment. They started to believe the press hype. Palmer does brilliant things but he plays as if it is just a kick about. He gives the ball away too easily.
The way i see, only 2 reasons why we lose points from everton-fulham-ipswich-palace. 1. Maresca must bench Palmer, from starter/subbed in. Try Nkunku/Felix in that CAM, trust these men to make changes, because he really makes Palmer untouchable even when he plays not really well. 2. Make subs EARLIER, less than 75mins and make 5 of them. If those striker and 3 attackers behind not good enough, then subbed them. We all know this is the youngest team, so we must give them chances, apart from the results. If Maresca says this team feels a little exhausted, that's because of himself not giving subs a chance. We have Nkunku, Felix, Madueke, Guiu, and James, that's 5 to make changes, why so hard?
Did people really think we were nailed on top 4!? I never did. We just had our run of great form at a time City and Arsenal didn't so got a fake inflated position of 2nd. At start of season i was hoping for top 6 and we are on for that
Commentary were saying at 70 mins Jackson had the highest number of chances in the game, how many does he need to get 1 on target let alone to go and score 1. He is not good enough
Jackson is not good enough to lead the line for us, he had how many chances to finish the game. He had the most shots on goal from anyone on the pitch 😤 4 games without a win now!
Jackson, as well as Guiu, are both quality strikers. Chelsea is in the middle of a long-term project. We need to keep faith and allow both players to develop,so stop panicking. Chelsea does not need an emergency striker brought in. If we bring in another expensive striker then we will have to play him and drop both Jackson and Guiu. That will be the end of our project because Both Jackson and Guiu will not be given the minutes.
Palmer with another sloppy turnover that leads to the equalizer. The kid is creating some bad habits in regards to poor passing and turnovers. Maresca should have pulled him off immediately. That’s what it will take to get his attention. No excuse for dropping the number of points we have dropped over our last 4 matches. It’s embarrassing as hell
He isn’t a cm. I blame maresca. He is RW or 2nd striker. Why is Palmer deep creating when you have Enzo who is one of the best in the world at doing so?
Fans like you are funny quick to highlight the bad but how many chances did Palmer create if anything you should be fuming at the rest of the team because they don't score Neto ,Jackson, Madueke, Nkunku when was their last goals?
@@daeball125 I’m not here to write a book for you to read mate. I’ll make the points I want to and you point out players you want to point out. fYI I said the same about Palmer a week ago. So maybe “fans like you “ should grow up bit. As for Nkuku I did not see him on the pitch today.
Our main problem is the striker the striker who can dominate when crosses go in front for finishing, we need a striker that can teach Mac GUI , we have to sell Jackson just like we sold Timo Warner period
Not Palmers fault, why did Sanchez play that ball to him and not the simple pass left or right? Cole was under pressure from two before the ball reached him!
Have you noticed that Caicedo and Enzo as the midfield is once again racking up disappointing results. Caicedo is gassed by the end of the game while he's running for two.
If we’d scored even half our chances we would have been out of sight. We need someone who can score other than Palmer without losing the closing down.. No way Josh was our worst player.

Idk, but I really hope that they get us a good, strong striker who has a presence in the Box.
A smart coach is quick to make decisions when players can't do anything and quickly replace them. It's clear that Jackson is not great at wasting opportunities.

@@GenesisSNfor sure. Jackson is progressing well, but heaping all this pressure on a young, winger turned striker with no other true 9 option other than a teenage Guiu is disgraceful from the board.
Forget Osimhen once for all!
We can’t kill off games. Jackson is killing us. Timely goals go a long long way.
Jackson misses, sulks and looks at the sky and repeat its boring now. Get us a real f’ing striker.
Observations :
- Complacency is the theme after scoring the 1st goal.
ONE SHOT ON TARGET, ONE SHOT ON TARGET!
Osimhen in January is a MUST. Huge fan of Jackson's game but he's costing us points week in week out. He gets some of the best service in the league from Palmer, Sancho, Neto, and does not capitalize. Osimhen would be contending for the golden boot with these chances.
If the game was 0-2 from him, it d have ended easily 0-5.
The team d feel more stability n comfort. But...
Clownlake not buying him fact 😂😂
Bringing Osimhen don't mean he's going to be on fire. Look at Harland who's struggling for goals at the minute. We are in a different league
It infuriates me that he doesn’t use subs
hey. careful there. some overly positive fans would call you a fake fan for your crticism on Maresca. he is an angel to them. can do no wrong and all.
@@roryasrorri701 he has done nothing yet , how are they giving him that much tolerance.
@prxvatenino right? all he did was promoting Leicester back to the prem. and let's not forget. he almost failed doing it.
We need a stiker.. Osimhen, delap... bloody anyone at this point but we need a No9
Not delop,he is jackson level 😅
Enough, Osimhen is not moving from Napoli hands and his loan to Galatasaray! Forget it once for all!
Colwill may have high ceiling but is he currently good enough to be in starting 11? Not convinced
Lavia injured and we struggle
2nd half was poor Jan, intensity , lack of subs, must use three at 70 minutes, we are not fit enough to play 95minutes with the same line up. Game management is predictable, negative and ineffective . Don’t bring back the Potter factor xx
Spot on title, there isn’t much difference in how we play now compared to the start of the season, in some ways we are better. ONLY main negative is we can’t score.
Start of the season this would have been a 3-1, same with the last 3 games, we are just not converting our chances and it’s Jackson who has stopped scoring.
problem is palmer not taking enogh risks and stopping too many couters
We don’t finish chances. Could have been 3 up in the first half and you’re not even having this conversation. The faith in Jackson baffles me. We’ve messed up and treated nkunku terribly.
The thing with Jackson is that thing he was doing at the beginning of the season, the hold up play, I see less of it now. Now, his touch is sometimes heavy, his shots are off. He’s back to last season form that frustrated us. I have now come to the conclusion that he might be great, but it won’t be at Chelsea
A one man midfield is the problem. We need midfielders.
Should’ve signed Tah from Leverkusen & an elite striker
Don’t want to be knee jerk but Maresca’s inability to do anything different is getting worrying. Catastrophic Xmas period and no end in sight
We can’t defend a lead
If maresca can’t see the fundamental problem is pairing Caicedo and Enzo then he isn’t watching
Sack Maresca first. His negativity and in game management are killing us.
Deja vu-score early and concede in the 82nd minute. At least we stopped the threat threat in extra time.
Poundland Pep is out of his depth when teams are controlling a game, his game management is abysmal.
Hello to all those fools who drank the cool aid way too soon!
Since that with mudryk happend it goes downwards
Similar to a lot of our games lately. We cannot keep a clean sheet, neither can we see a game out.
So how many goals have we given in the last 10 minutes of matches this season? Cause I count three just in the last two matches...
I've run out of excuses for Jackson
Interesting that Maresca went through a blip with Leicester at a very similar time last year too
Manager has gone from being flexible first half the season to now playing the same way, makes subs far too late and only makes one or two, nothing wrong with counter attacking fast but we are constantly slowing it down
Jackson is good.
Forget Osimhen once for all!
Napoli answer: NO!
Not just Jackson. More players other than Cole Palmer need to start scoring.
We do need a big man up front to help. We should’ve been up 4 or 5 but no one could put it away. I’m a Jackson fan but we need help. You don’t win anything with one striker.
The Crystal Palace DJ needs a raise 💀
Enough, Osimhen is not moving from Napoli hands and his loan to Galatasaray! Forget it once for all!
There is a lack of intensity when Chelsea are playing at the moment. They started to believe the press hype. Palmer does brilliant things but he plays as if it is just a kick about. He gives the ball away too easily.
So many missed chances are what is costing us. Jackson should be the number two striker behind a world class striker.
It’s about that time where the critics hit Jackson and Jackson starts scoring again 😅
At start of season i was hoping for top 6 and we are on for that
When your goalkeeper is motm that means we were being dominated in the final 3rd
No not necessarily. I thought he had a sound performance and nobody did enough to deny him that ‘accolade’
Same old story play well no clean sheet miss chances and concede in the last 10 minutes. So frustrating.
💯 - we are not good enough defensively to only score 1 goal and win. We need a striker!
@@Dilllll26 He has been given the license to roam. I realize the kid is an immense talent but Maresca has got to reel in these bad habits.
@@Dilllll26Bloody hell. The delusion in people. One of the best in the world at doing what? Bloody average as average can be.
Going to lose jackson from middle of jan for AFCON, we'll find out then if nkunku, felix & guiu are good enough.
Have you noticed that Caicedo and Enzo as the midfield is once again racking up disappointing results. Caicedo is gassed by the end of the game while he's running for two.
"We got our Chelsea back..." jinx in full effect.
Not being able to score set pieces is costing us challenging for the title
If we’d scored even half our chances we would have been out of sight. We need someone who can score other than Palmer without losing the closing down.. No way Josh was our worst player.
Unacceptable result. Constantly missing goal scoring opportunities and playing games with your best players like Lavia. James and Fofanna unfit and chronically injured is not a way to make progress 🤷♂️
We did not use our chances, that's all. We saw a very good Achempong, so a positive. Palmer made a mistake in the middle, lost the ball and they scored. Don't get me wrong, the question here is what was palmer doing there? It is not his job to be there. I kinda get the Leicester Fans that got frustrated with Enzo's Football. Idk, but I really hope that they get us a good, strong striker who has a presence in the Box.
“Two draws and two losses against lower-ranked clubs. Trust the process.” - Enzo Maresca
i wish we get osimhen/ Isak. but like all my wishes, I don't think it will come true
A smart coach is quick to make decisions when players can't do anything and quickly replace them. It's clear that Jackson is not great at wasting opportunities.
We now live in a world where players are not blamed for what they are meant to do..Jackson had 4 clear chances
I kinda disagree with the mateta shout as nkunku is the same build and could become that sort of striker for us just hasn’t had enough time to adapt
We need gyokeres no other option for me at the moment
Mateta is much bigger than Nkunku. By a lot
Enough, Osimhen is not moving from Napoli hands and his loan to Galatasaray! Forget it!
Well top 6 teams spanking us, then bottom 6 does the same now? I understand the talk not being ready to face bigger teams yet but now smaller teams can easily defeat chelsea again. If we finish in top 12 again its good stuff
We have seen this before with Graham potter a couple of good results and then booom! This loses and draws started coming 😢
The subs fine but the timing is rubbish. Doesn’t give the minutes because Maresca is protecting and not attacking
