I recently watched a small interview where Jordan said that his shots had been short most of the game and he held out his hand like a pose on that shot to make sure he followed through to the end. I'd heard for years that he did that to show off or something like that. Sure enough, I went back and watched the entire game 6 and an awful lot of shots were in fact short, hitting the front lip of the rim. In fact, the shot before that one was a layup because the jump shot before the layup went short. I'm a baller myself and know that if I miss a few jumpers, I'm going inside for some layups because I need to see the ball start going in again to keep my confidence up. He didn’t reach? He just tried to play Jordan straight up and body him up. Jordan was quicker so he just went into triple threat and blew by Russell. At that point Jordan already had him beat. @@Reaper13-hi3yo lol wrong on both accounts. Russel was the Jazz best perimeter defender and well above average. Also if you think that was a push you must be incredibly weak and feeble.
To all those "experts" claiming it was an offensive foul because of the push: No. MJ accelerated with the dribble and did a clean crossover. When done really well, the crossover sends the defender off balance because of the sudden change of direction. MJ was really great at the fundamentals. His put his left arm up so he can stop the dribble with the left hand. There is no way that his left hand could push Russel to stumble to floor.
