  • Have you ever wondered why people put salt in beer, it is also referred to as salting beer. Although not a big fan of salt in my beer I was aware of the practice as my father would salt his draft beer to improve the taste and to also add some carbonation. We decided there were probably more reasons why people put salt in their beer so decided to do some research and discovered 10 reasons why people do.
Let us know in the comments if you put salt in your beer and why?

We'd occasionally salt our beers back in the 1950s. Salt and a shot of Tabasco sauce; a beer cocktail.

Yes sir, I recall my father using Tabasco sauce also, forgot about that! Going to give it a try! Cheers

It decreases the head of the beer after a couple of shakes. So if you have a lot of foam when you pour out your beer, this is a quick way to disippate it.

I’ve tried the beer but never peanuts in coke! Beer it is more for the cheaper commercial lager or draft beer! Cheers

My sodium level on blood tests is below the minimum so I will try adding sea salt to my beer! Thanks for the video.

I salt mine because i enjoy the taste of salt, even though its not the best for me. Ill tend to salt the rim of the can as well to get some more salt crystals per drink

Ask Alice in 🇯🇲 why she use salt and beer😂😅

And the reason why we should put salt and beer is because you already have salt in your stomach. And look what happens when you put salt in your beer that’s gonna happen inside of your stomach if you don’t do it before hand. Just be cognizant of your p’s and q’s pints in quarts and your sodium and electrolyte intake. if you don’t do sodium in your beer beforehand, no no, it will be like the Coca-Cola Mentos challenge! Because science!

Interesting, I've seen that video where the bar rescue guy pours a beer by dumping it all in the glass to get the carbonation out, same concept I am guessing! Cheers

You can call it the evolution of a beer enthusiast. In some of the reasons you can give as your mission statement or is it beer save the world, in the bubonic and black plague. Because human beings didn’t know about how to boil water at that point. Because Jesus drink, beer and wine and alcohol and we can’t be so Puritan mystic as to think we are better than that. And number three because it lowers your inhibitions and in vino veritas. And wine is truth even when it’s fucked up in your lifetime, when is it not behooved you to have a Freudian slip every once in a while?
