That velocity falloff for Huntley is wild, never seen that happen in the mid 20s

Especially without an injury... very strange!

I’m trying to remember if there was a poor result in the dev lab which preceded his velocity drop?

@kevinbyrne8748 Great question! Fortunately I am tracking that now - thanks for the idea to investigate!
Two offseasons ago (winter of 2039-40) he had a Successful result in the Improve Arsenal program, improving his current and potential changeup. That said, his velocity still dipped from 99-101 when the preseason was beginning, to 97-99 coming out of Spring Training, to 95-97 by the end of last season.
This past offseason (winter of 2040-41) he had a Poor result, in the same program, and his Movement declined by less than 5 points. His velocity had dipped to 94-96 coming out of spring training, and has since fallen to 92-94 over the first four months of the season.
So i don't think it was the Dev Lab, as the decline started in the midst of a good result... but I guess I'll never know for sure!

@@oldschoolsports not knowing the exact calculation of how OOTP calculates their velocity, I wonder if the increased use of his improved changeup started the downward trend in his velocity

It's the yips. Or as they call it in OOTP, "talent change randomness".

Strange that Richards didn't get a sniff at the All Star but pleased to see the others that we got included. Richards is having an excellent season and has to be booked on ROY.
Good move to bring Galik back, he will certainly help over this vital few months. Maybe buy him an air travel season ticket as a bonus 😂

Definitely feel like Galik is a very good insurance policy for down the stretch!

I think effectively only giving up Carlisle and Figueroa for the excellent SP prospect you got from the Padres is an excellent deal, although Mr. Galik is probably getting whiplash from all these trades.

Ha, no doubt. Boston to Oakland to San Diego back to Oakland in the last 367 days... and he very well could be headed somewhere new in early November!

Regarding Fan Interest, I am convinced after watching it this season that the Pathetic level of Fan Loyalty is still draining FI, just at a slower pace. I would imagine the next highest level of FL is the breakeven point.
A good trade for Galik again, we need his veteran presence and influence. I think both he and Padilla will come around next month and be doing better at the close of the season into the playoffs. It is a real shame about Huntley, I thought he might be a fixture in the pen for the A's, but glad you had not signed to a deal. Fickle game Baseball. Another example of a good story within the game.
I was glad to see Rangel get a shot at the bigs, hopefully he matures the rest of the season down in AAA for next spring.
Time for the race to the playoffs! ✌

Yeah, that "Pathetic" rating, while an upgrade from where we were, probably is not helping. But it seems to mean there is almost nothing we can do to prevent that decline during the season, which is pretty frustrating given how good we have been for over a decade...

Ibarra to the dev lab for stamina and then an extra pitch if successful??

Haven't really thought that far ahead yet, but that sounds like a potentially rewarding plan!
