    Great idea re the “moss” stitch. I’ve been researching a gazillion TH-cam videos for slipper ideas and your is the first to address the texture issue needed for a sole. One suggestion I hope you find useful: When casting off in rib, move the yarn to the back after each purl stitch ... it will be “out of the way” for the casting off process, plus you will be “ready” for the next knit stitch. Thanks for the clear pattern and structure. 😊

    Thank you for making this! I finished my first set (which I’m wearing now!) and am halfway through the second pair! I have only made a scarf before, all my attempts at hats have been a disaster, so I thought I would never do something so intimidating as a slipper, but you made it so easy I can do it from memory now! It’s greatly boosted my confidence and I am excited to learn more!

      Oh good. I go nice and slow for beginners so this is a great video to learn from and you get slippers when you are finished!
      There are a few products to make slippers non slip. I have seen these on Amazon. Stick on non slip grips. Not sure how they will hold up in the wash though. There is also a sock stop paint that you paint non slip dots on the bottom.

    Hi crafty patti I have a question about the very end. Do we cast off at the end of the toe section?

    • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts
      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      No. You cut the yarn leaving enough for sewing up toe section. Thread yarn onto a needle and thread through remaining sts on needle and gather up and tie off.

  • @PuzS

    If I want a bigger cuff do I knit more rows before starting decrease rows

    • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts
      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Go to time stamp 4:04 in the video and I talk about how to vary the pattern. If you want a higher cuff than you need to cast on additional stitches but you will have to change the amount of stitches you cast off on both sides so your slipper is not too wide.

      Hi Jenny. I didn’t include one length as I explain in the video how you knit it any length you want to fit your foot. I also show a chart to give you general sizing. Have a look at time stamp 2:57 and hopefully that will answer your question.

    Can I double worsted weight for these slippers?

    • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts
      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you are changing up yarn sizes in a pattern it is best if you do up a sample gauge if you want to be happy with your finished slipper.
      With the yarn I used this was the gauge.
      Approximate gauge: 5 Sts = 2 in (5cm) 4 rows = 1 in (2.5cm)
      With your 2 strands see how close you are to my gauge.
      If you are knitting tighter you may have to cast on additional stitches. If your knitting is looser than mine than you may have to decrease the number of stitches.

      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Lisa.
      Two worsted weight will be thinner than the bulky 6 yarn.
      Here’s the gauge.
      Aproximate gauge: 5 sts = 2 in (5cm) 4 rows = 1 in (2.5cm)
      Try a little sample and see how it looks.

    Not sure what I'm doing wrong both my side look the same with the knit stitch line. Can some one help please

    • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts
      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Virginia. Yes, that is definitely not right. Your first row is all knit stitches. Row 2 you always start with a Purl stitch. Then you are doing a knit stitch than a Purl stitch across the row. Then you repeat rows 1 and 2.
      Row 1: Knit
      Row 2: P1, *K1, P1*, repeat from * across row.
      It will work if you follow the pattern.

    Cant seem to get pattern right after casting off 10 stitcjes at each endof slipper

    • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts
      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      After you have cast off 10 sts on both sides than you start the pattern with row 1&2 again which is
      Row 1: Knit
      Row 2: P1, *K1, P1*, repeat from * across row.

  • @NadineBax-um8pz

    I am wondering why I cast off 10 stitches on both sides no matter how many stitches I cast on??
    The 35 for Toddler (leaving 15 for foot size), or 49 for Man, casting off 10 on each side(leaving 29 for foot)??
    Shouldn't the upper part of boot for man...take more than the 20 stitches(same for all patterns) once sown together, to fit on leg???
    I am thinking that I should cast off more on each side for each different size (T,C,L,M) ???

    • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts
      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  ปีที่แล้ว

      I will try and explain for you. The actual cast on stitches is what changes up the size of your slipper from toddler to men’s and this creates the width for your slipper. When you do your toe section the amount of times you repeat your K1,P1 determines the length of the slipper.
      The cast off of ten stitches on each side only creates the size of your cuff. So the cuff length will be the same for all sizes. Hope that makes sense for you.
      I made the slippers in all sizes and it does work out.

    • @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts
      @CraftyPattiArtsCrafts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Every yarn may have a different weight or thickness so I can’t say just use two strands of yarn. I want you to be happy with the final results so it is best to knit up a little sample gauge than you will know if two strands of your yarn will work. The gauge for these slippers is:
      Aproximate gauge: 6 Sts = 2 in (5cm) 4 rows = 1 in (2.5cm)
