Hi Belinda! You've inspired me to knit blanket slippers for my family this holiday. It's my first knitting project ever, and so I'm still learning all of the knitting lingo. I have purchased the pattern and watched the videos that you have linked, but I'm not too sure what "slipping first stitch of each row to make a neat edge" means, or how to approach that... is there any chance you would be able to explain it in a comment or make a quick demonstration of it? Super grateful for your videos regardless, you are an inspiration, thank you!!!

Is it really as simple as moving the first stitch from one needle to the other without doing anything to it? Do I slip the first stitch of my first ever row, or just subsequent rows? Sorry for the silly beginner questions!! I'm trying to do my own research but I know you're the expert haha

@@CharlieRoeder yes it is moving the stitch from one needle to the other without doing anything to it. Do this at the start of every row. It makes a neater edge because actually knitting the stitch leaves a little bump there. Thank you for the question and the future video idea, I would like to do more tutorials in the new year.

@@CharlieRoeder oh but not on the first ever row, you need to make that first stitch for the foundation row.

@@bmakingjoy amazing! One more question-I’ve done the knitted cast on where the first “stitch” is a slip knot. Then, when I do my first row using garter stitch, I am at the point where the slip knot is the last stitch on my left needle. When I follow the garter stitch: wrap ->

@@CharlieRoederI’m sorry it seems the end of your question cut off.
